It's an embarassment to Democrats that Sanders is going to be their candidate.

Bernie Sanders on being the Democratic front-runner and taking on Donald Trump - CBS News
"Anderson Cooper: Do you know how all-- how much though? I mean, do you have a price tag for-- for all of this?

Bernie Sanders: We do. I mean, you know, and-- and-- the price tag is-- it will be substantially less than letting the current system go. I think it's about $30 trillion.

Anderson Cooper: That's just for Medicare for All, you're talking about?

Bernie Sanders: That's just Medicare for All, yes.

Anderson Cooper: Do you have-- a price tag for all of these things?

Bernie Sanders: No, I don't. We try to-- no, you mentioned making public colleges and universities tuition free and cancelling all student debt, that's correct. That's what I want to do. We pay for that through a modest tax on Wall Street speculation.

Anderson Cooper: But you say you don't know what the total price is, but you know how it's gonna be paid for. How do you know it's gonna be paid for if you don't know how much the price is?

Bernie Sanders: Well, I can't-- you know, I can't rattle off to you ever nickel and every dime. But we have accounted for-- you-- you talked about Medicare for All. We have options out there that will pay for it."

In other words , he has no idea what his plans will cost or how to pay them.

"the rich will pay for them " is not an answer.

Even DNC water carrier Chris Cilizza agrees.

The TDS of the Trump gang is fun: yes, Sanders is coming for you guys.

Maya MacGuineas, president of the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonprofit group that advocates reducing federal deficits, also says Sanders' agenda would at least double federal spending. "We are literally talking about increases in government spending that would double the size of government as a share of gross domestic product," says MacGuineas, whose group is completing a detailed analysis of the Democratic candidates' agendas.
On the spending side, ... this is far more radical than all previous presidencies, on either the right or the left," Summers said in an interview. "The Sanders spending increase is roughly 2.5 times the size of the New Deal and the estimated fiscal impact of George McGovern's campaign proposals. This is six times as large of a growth of government than any of the Ronald Reagan dismemberments. We are in a kind of new era of radical proposal."

think if the price tag for the Sanders agenda was [better] known ... voters would blanch -- even Democratic primary voters would blanch," said Jim Kessler, executive vice president for policy at Third Way, a centrist Democratic group. "The truth of the matter is in primary elections both in 2016 and so far in this one, he's allowed to skate. He gets graded on a curve. But if he were the nominee, the curve is over. The Republicans will spend a billion dollars picking apart every one of his plans."

You mean like how Trump and Republicans always tell us that Tax Cuts will pay for themselves?

How much each of these plans will cost will depend a number of different factors, but unlike Republicans, Democrats do make sure they offset them.

By the way the last time a right wing think tank tried to guess how much Medicare for all would cost they accidentally ended up proving it was cheaper than our current health care system.

You're only embarrassing yourself here buddy.

I'm hugely proud we are going to have the best Democratic nominee since at least JFK.

Meanwhile, Republicans have an unfit monster, the worst president in the history of the country. Now that's an embarrassment.

Hearing a Trump supporter complain about the other side's supposedly embarrassing candidate is like hearing an Al Capone supporter complain about corruption in the government.

Sure Bernie has problems, and I've been outspoken about them, but they are nothing compared to Twitler's flaws.

You didn't read the article .There is no WAY they can raise enough revenue to pay for all that.
all the sources I referenced that put a tag on Sanders' plans are left wing.

Nutjob leftists shouldn't be embarrassed, Comrade BS is the best they can do, and that's okay. Now, make him the guy and let's get this done.

I'm sorry, while I don't want Bernie to be the Dem nominee I laugh at the fact you talk about Bernie being an embarrassment when you guys supported as your Republican nominee, Trump, who was a Democrat all his life until he realized how stupid most Republicans really are. :lamo

You didn't read the article .There is no WAY they can raise enough revenue to pay for all that.

Umm...dude, we're already paying for that. The only thing that changes is that instead of paying your premiums to a private insurance company you will pay them in taxes. Low income insurance is already subsidized by the wealthy.

The difference is that under the current system you premiums don't just pay for health care. They pay for advertising, CEO bonuses, and administrative costs which will all go away under the new system.

You guys can't make up your mind, first he is a socialist and now he's a communist. :lamo

Your comments are BEYOND dumb and ignorant. It shows that Trump supporters may really be at the 4th grade level.

If Bernie is the nominee (and I still dont think the DNC lets that happen) then the DNC and other candidates will only have themselves to blame.

Bernie is Bernie. He is maybe the most 'true' (though not honest) candidate out there. Bernie has never been anything other than what he was. But look at the first 6 months of this campaign process. Democrats were literally tripping over themselves trying to out commie Bernie. They promised every special interest, every 'right'...free free freeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! They pandered to illegal immigrants. They built their campaign on offerings to fringe groups. They all painted themselves as more goofy than Bernie.

So why not go with the OG?

Deficits due to tax cuts for the hyper-rich don't count. They only count if we use the money to make society better.

Are you purposely being dishonest?

The whole point of the OP is all the OTHER STUFF besides MFA.

I wouldn't vote for Trump even if Sanders' programs cost a bazillion dollars.

Considering that Bernie isn't even a democrat ...

2019 defense bill was $686 billion.

Where are we going to come up with $30 trillion?

And that's per year, right?

They all count. And the numbers are *already* pretty scarey.

I want free stuff- I don't care what it costs!

Will fraud go away? How much did the DOJ not recover?

January 20, 2020 - "The Department of Justice recovered over $3 billion from False Claims cases in the 2019 fiscal year, with $2.6 billion coming form healthcare fraud schemes. ..."

DoJ Recovered $2.6B from Healthcare Fraud Cases in 2019

VA - "The National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association estimates conservatively that health care fraud costs the nation about $68 billion annually — about 3 percent of the nation's $2.26 trillion in heath care spending. The FBI estimates losses could be as high as 10% per year or $300 billion. ..."

About Fraud, Waste, and Abuse - Community Care

And closer to home ...

July 28, 2017 - "Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center paid $6.5 million to settle a whistleblower suit alleging VUMC committed Medicare fraud between 2003 and 2011 ..."

Vanderbilt University Medical Center pays $6.5M to resolve Medicare fraud allegations

What makes anyone think that the government is gonna investigate and punish itself?

How come the Democrats are expected to have detailed plans of exactly how to raise every penny, but the Republicans get to put tax cut after tax cut on the credit card? If this is embarrassing Democrats, than Republicans must have no shame, or they wouldn't be able to leave the house in the morning.

Let's balance the budget and pay for all of the programs we want by repealing one tax cut after another until the top income tax rate is 90%, the way it was in the 50s when America was Great.
