Bernie offers voters "free" childcare

No, it is pointing out Sander's lie. It is not "free childcare" just because he refuses to even state the annual price tag or the costs - nor any details whatsoever.

Conservatives, particularly you, literally offer up that same nonsense in every single thing proposed by the democrats that costs a dime. If there have been no details released you additionally have no basis to claim that it will cost you anything. He could be planning on making welfare queens babysit for free as a workfare program or bring back slavery or something.

That is great for working families

You should underwrite the childcare of a working family. You've written enough about your profession and income indications that this would barely dent your disposable income. But not every senior citizen can afford to do so, and it's a bum deal for people who decide not to have children being forced to pay the costs of other people who do.

What would help people out tremendously, is if the government paid everyone's car payments and auto insurance. This would insure everyone had a good car, everyone is covered by insurance, and this would be fantastic for automakers. Think of all the jobs this would create.

But, hell, why not nationalize everything since that always is the wonderful thing to do - because then everything is free, everyone is healthy, everyone has everything they want and need - all for free. All you, I and everyone else need to is everything we are told to do by the government and our employer/bosses.

1) One thing I wish to point out about paying taxes for things so that they become "free". While in the strictest sense it IS true that what Sanders is proposing isn't really free, what no one is taking into account is that when taxes are paid, the tax burden is so spread out that the actual cost is ALMOST free because the average citizen is only paying in cents for a few dollar apiece for said education out of their total tax bill. As opposed to the thousands of dollars that some pay out of pocket for certain schools. When you look at relative cost...it IS almost free education per individual for their child or children.

2) Second thing that I wonder about is...why are people against educating our children? Don't want the future of America to be educated? Even if you don't have children, don't you want to be in a nation NOT filled with idiots as Josh Green suggests? Don't you want America to be great? And in doing so, wouldn't you be willing to pay for it with just a small portion of o=your overall tax bill?

Or are you too greedy and worry more about the wealth you keep than the nation that allows you to build wealth?

1) Spreading the cost of X nationwide does not reduce the cost of X, but it does separate the relationship between investment and return on investment. What, exactly, does society (the investor in a single-payer "free" college system) gain by enabling college "students" who fail to graduate or graduate with degrees which do not enable them to even repay the direct cost of their own education?

2) People who do not receive a college education are not idiots. Making such a statement asserts that our K-12 system produces idiots with HS diplomas.

You should build the wall. You personally should be out there laying bricks.

Use a string line to keep it level

Free at point of service

Make everything free at the point of service. Then economically everything would be perfect for everyone - except all those evil rich people we'd make pay for everything. Besides, we can get any material stuff we need from elsewhere by just increasing the balance of trade deficits endlessly.

Everything for free at the point of service, all paid for by evil rich people - like you and I.

Oh, are you saying you will really be getting what you pay for?

We could do that.

It would just be really really stupid

What are you talking about? The wall is free. It hasn't cost you 1 penny, has it? Anything the government pays for is free. That is Sander's and your claim.

Oh, are you saying you will really be getting what you pay for?

I have no idea what he is offering in terms of details. The Universal Pre-K part shouldn't be that big of an issue. Even real world conservatives support that in a great many places.

No, actually we couldn't. That's the point. The real spending value of US money in stores is dropping fast. Endlessly writing hot checks and giving out IOUs - all we pay interest on - is reaching the point of diminishing returns. The result is Venezuela. That is the Sander's plan.

Wealth will neither stay in or come to the USA with a President Sanders.

And now your claim

Welcome aboard!!!!

So let's end every government program and agency.

That is the flip side of what you posted

I know, and neither does he. He is the robinhood we have been waiting for the past 50 years.Hopefully he wins and makes everyones lives better for it.

Trump nation attacking Bernie early in the primaries. Stay scared. You should be.

You're right. I am scared and I should be. The idea of some loser communist becoming president should terrify everyone.

Go buy some Depends and kleenex. The drama queen hour apparently has started.

One could say that of those who are not educated, or under-educated.

One could say that of those who want God brought back into school; forced indoctrination to one faith only.

Why are you against educating children?

Why are you talking out your ass?

Your links all seem to be UK based programs. Keep in mind, in the US you can take advantage of the child tax credit up to $2000 per year for each child under the age of 17. There is also an additional program to cover childcare “Child and dependent care credit” that can be an additional $3000 per year for children under 13 in the household.

Economic benefits are going to be the same irrespective of where the are offered. It's the principle that matters, not the location.

I am fine with free child care as long as the parent is employed.

Except it isn't free we all have to pay for it. Here in Ma we just had our paychecks whacked again in order to cover ridiculously extensive PTO for medical leave and maternity leave. Who is paying for this? To claim it is free is a lie.

You pay property taxes to support public schools even if you don't have children, so.....

And Homeschoolers are being forced to pay for public schools they don't use(wink)

Charter school folks are paying for the Public schools supplemental levies$$$$$$

Bernie is going to raise the minimum wage to $15.

More free money to people.

Dang!

Buying a Quarter Pounder meal at McDonalds is already around 8 Bucks without this!

It is free to the users which is what that means and you know that is what it means and this is just pearl clutching without addressing the merits of the program. Since you have no criticism of the merits, then clearly you know it is a decent idea.
