What is going on? Are they "campaigning" against Sanders?

MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews compared the victory of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in the Nevada caucus to the Nazi invasion of France, triggering calls for his resignation on social media on Sunday.
The hashtag '#FireChrisMatthews' trended on Twitter after Matthews made the analogy on air Saturday, saying it represented a disaster for the Democratic Party.
"I was reading last night about the fall of France in the summer of 1940," Matthews said on MSNBC. "And the general, Reynaud, calls up Churchill and says, 'It's over.' And Churchill says, 'How can that be? You've got the greatest army in Europe...

Sanders supporters are a force to reckoned with. Not only that, his comments were very much uncalled for, as are most Nazi comparisons.

Surging Sanders stormed through the walk-through for the Las Vegas debate, singling out one top producer at the end and aggressively sticking his finger in his face. One shocked witness said, “Bernie marched right up to NBC and MSNBC’s head of creative production and began jabbing his finger right in his face, yelling, ‘Your coverage of my campaign is not fair . . . Your questions tonight are not going to be fair to me.’ ”

Sanders did not hold back as he continued to rant about MSNBC coverage. According to the witness, “The NBC exec told Sanders he would be treated fairly.”

Most if not all Nazi comparisons are ridiculous. Trump is a Nazi. Obama is a Nazi. Bernie is a Nazi. Blah-blah-blah.

It lessens the impact of the term by using it so flippantly, but that's how it is, I guess.
 
I get the feeling Chris Matthews wasn't deliberately trying to do so, and that the rapid conquest of France was just the first comparison of a stunning victory that came to mind...

..but dead God man, choose your words more carefully.
 
Sanders attacking the press! He wants to eliminate the press. He's at war with the press! He hate a free press. He is trying to bully and silence the press. He's a NAZI! A dictator! (Add all the rest of the attacks against Trump for criticizing the media and press.)
 
Matthews did not compare Sanders campaign and its supporters to Nazis. He compared the rapid success of the Sanders campaign to the surprise of Germany over running France so quickly.
 
The only biased news network is Fox News, right? :)

leftists are very militant. you either tow the line or you get eviscerated. Sanders is even more left than that.
The democrats know that sander's is a huge turn off to the majority of voters. More so independents blue dogs and a few unions.
With a more moderate candidate democrats could beat trump. With sanders it is just a forgone conclusion that trump will win.

Even those people that hate trump will vote for him over sanders. He is like the dan quayle to the left.
Yes he has a fanatic base and those people are very much getting revenge from 2016.

The DNC is actually having to play fair and they changed the rules on the super delegates this year.

Sanders has now made a huge support with democrats that he can collect enough delegates from SC and super tuesday
to put the race out of reach for anyone else.

Like it or not it looks like sanders will win the democrat primary. How that translates to the presidency is unknown.
all bernie has is more government meddling with your life and the american people are fed up with the government meddling
with our lives as it is never a good thing for us.

Fox, NBC, and CNN are all partisan. I have to hop between all 3 Networks to wheedle out some unbiased truth.

But that said the politically correct cancel culture mentality is taking over, and that does not end well for anyone despite the hype.

Yes - they're vigorously campaigning against Sanders.

There are two kinds of conservatives:

1) Conservatives

2) Liberals (aka upside down/sideways conservatives)

Liberals hate Sanders as much - if not more - than conservatives do, but instead of calling him a *commie* they sink MUCH lower, and make the Nazi comparison.

Why?

Liberals = Criminally insane

Media liberals = The scum of the earth, and actually worse than the Nazi Streicher

after hearing a bunch of them talk about Sanders, i'm pretty sure most of the MSM would rather have Trump win and try their luck again in 2024 if Sanders takes the nom.

I expect Biden to collect quite a few delegates in the primary process, denying Bernie a win on the first vote at the convention. At some point "moderates", all the way up to Obama will try influencing the election against Bernie. It could turn into a very messy convention.

I think biden is done. He had a lead in SC and he lost it to sanders now.
If biden doesn't make a significant showing in SC he is done. He is so far behind now
that he has to do well.

he is 25 delegates behind sanders.
that is already a huge gap.

Sanders is also picking up major support in CA and in Texas.

I avoid Fox and CNN altogether. It's a total waste of time trying to find the truth needle in their haystacks. I actually watch NBC nightly news because I believe them to be the least biased of the three major networks. They're still biased but they are the best of the worst. I read things from a bunch of sources but won't read anything that has a known bias. I watch Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace because he is about as close to the middle as you can get. He'll attack both sides.

I believe Biden will win both SC and Texas.
