trump tells Republican voters he loves the bible, wants to drain the swam, wants to tax the rich more, is on the side of the working class. They fall for it. He does the opposite.

Bush 43 tells Republican voters he loves the bible, wants a 'more humble foreign policy', will pay off the national debt in ten years (starting with the surplus he inherited from Clinton). They fall for it. He does the opposite.

Reagan tells Republican voters he loves the bible, he's against making deals with terrorists, says he's for fiscal responsibility and strongly against debt. They fall for it. He does the opposite.

Nixon tells Republican voters he loves the bible, he has a secret plan to end the Vietnam war, that he's for law and order and the integrity of the presidency. They fall for it. He does the opposite.

Let's face the fact: Republicans are bad at voting. They fall for lies from Republican politicians like a kitten chases a string. No questions asked. Any crook and do any wrong, horrible policy by wrapping themselves in the flag, waving the bible, and saying they're for the opposite of what they'll actually do.

Even if they were honest, it'd be bad enough, the things Republican voters would support - but they want even worse. And over and over and over, Republican voters are gullible, accept the lies, and vote for them causing great harm to the country. It's like taking candy from a baby, except that doesn't hurt the baby. To make up for it, they're overly skeptical about Democrats, falling for lies that DEMOCRATS are the liars.

I have an idea. How about we just take away the right to vote of anyone who does not agree with you, particularly Republicans and conservatives?

Threat resolved.

Don't make me regret even more that I bother to read at least some of your posts.

You're ignoring the facts to make an ad hominem attack and a straw man.

Well it does kinda make ya think about giving iQ tests to vote.

That will immediately eliminate the Republican party...

As much as I strongly oppose the Republican voters' choices, I strongly support their right to vote (they can't say the same about the Democrats they love to disenfranchise).

What's more important than making the 'best' choice, is simply that it's the people who make that choice. However, the value of that is now strongly threatened by the extreme degree to which billions of dollars in an opinion influencing machine can mislead voters and give them opinions the donors want them to have. That is very much a phony democracy in name only.

Well, just for starters.

George W. Bush was on track for a more humble foreign policy, then Middle Eastern terrorists brought down the World Trade Center towers and killed nearly 3,000 people. At that point he had little choice to change his policies completely. Which also affected the deficit for the worst.

Richard Nixon, whether you think it was a good plan or not did in fact end U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. That is undeniable.

Reagan did in fact his first year in office get a major package of domestic spending cuts passed. And in his second year got tax increases passed. Now he still ended up with deficit spending but that wasn't all on him. Arguably he did his part to fight it.

Your analysis is way to simplistic.

What ad hominem? He didn't say anything about you. His post was another way of saying "and what exactly do you propose we do about that, assuming it is true?"

If your claim that Republicans' unique collective gullibility is without hyperbole a national threat, then there are few other ways of resolving it outside of undemocratic measures.

Yeah, that's a real knee slapper right there. Coming from leftists that are lead around by the nose believing every stupid ass thing the leftist propaganda machine says.

And mind you, only Republicans are gullible.

I got taught all about propaganda most importantly how to spot it in Mr Mac's class fall 1976 at Guilford High. These Modern Morons though mostly dont believe that power would lie to them without "a good reason", so they just keep sucking up the swill.

I agree that undemocratic measures are undesirable as a solution, and did not call for them. But the way things are going, democracy is at risk because of them.

That's good for an irony of the day award.

You just generated a ad hominem thread directed against millions of voters, and have a problem with Felis Leo's post?

You are making an argument for why Bernie will lose to Trump if Bernie is the nominee.

The economy has not turned and Trump has centralized the levers of control in the hands of so many hacks that even if it does turn at this point, they will simply stimulate it enough to keep it afloat till November. This country still believes that a rising tide floats all boats or at least most of them and the tide is still rising. This country is not going to turn a bustling economy over to Bernie. It may well turn it over to Biden or Bloomy or Amy or Pete or even Liz.....but not Bernie. If Bernie is the nominee he will lose to Trump and the Dems will lose the House without gaining the Senate. In other words, it will be a complete disaster with the Republic itself at risk though nobody seems to care.

suppressing the vote is a predominantly Republican tactic.

No, you are spouting anti-Bernie fantasies as usual. You learned nothing from 2016, with Ms Electable.

That is not an answer. Explain to me how this country will convince itself to turn a bustling economy over to a socialist.

Ah....don't run away...so Trumpette. In fact I am beginning to think most of the Bernie trash we read at this forum is simply Trumpettes masking as Bernie Bros. The nonsense posts are strangely similar to Trumpette nonsense.

I would say that statement is true but it needs to say Trump supporters instead of all republicans. And in today's climate, this includes 99% of the republican house and senate.

You forgot "you can keep your Doctor" How come?

suppressing the vote is a predominantly Republican tactic.

Says the crowd flooding the nation with illegals so they can vote. Spare us the voter suppression BS. We only want to suppress the illegal voting.
Mass.gov
In Ma they remind people that all you need to vote in this state is a Ma drivers license....which we just so happen to openly give to illegals.
Go to our site yourself..the voter registration is an honor system checkbox.

I read your statement and haven't gone any further to read any of your responses and yet I'll be my right arm that republicans will argue it's not true, any of it.

How republicans running for office get away with the same old playbook election after election is beyond me. For decades it's been the same promises and yet as you so aptly point out, they do the opposite. I say this all the time. Look at the south controlled by republicans for the most part and yet election after election these same people vote republican and stay the poorest states in the country. Go figure?

Republicans are the party out to help the rich and yet somehow they get all the poor republicans to vote for them with promises of a better future which never arrives.

Nixon went behind johnson's back and promised north vietnam better terms than what they would receive from johnson. So basically nixon colluded with the enemy in our elections. You want to tell us again how wonderful nixon was?
