Forum Democrats, Mashmont is going to try to appeal to your powers of reason. Right now your front runner is Bernie Sanders to go against President Trump in the general. I am going to compare and contrast these men, and hopefully at the end of it, you will decide to abandon Sanders in favor of Trump.

Pre-political private life: Sanders never drew a regular paycheck until nearly his 40th birthday. At various points, he and his family (however fluid or defined that was) lived in a shack with a dirt floor and lived in a 'cold dark' apartment where Sanders had to run a cord to a neighbor's apartment because his electricity was shut off. The man couldn't pay his bills. He was a sometimes carpenter who was very poor at that craft, and he did sporadic odd jobs. He drew unemployment at various stints and proposed it should be unlimited. His appearance was rumpled and slovenly; his apartment was a disheveled mess. He was a poor part-time guardian of illegitimate son. He was never married to the child's mother. It was a shack-up arrangement. A man who couldn't take care of his own finances now expects to be trusted handling the number-one economy in the world? This is madness. Only when he won political office, did Sanders have steady income, eventually using government to become a multi-millionaire and own three homes, valued at $1.5 million.

Donald Trump on the other hand was responsible, hard working, and fastidious from the start. Even while in college, Trump was investing in apartment complexes. He became a mutli-billionaire successfully renovating New York City landmark buildings, and getting into other holdings. He survived Atlantic City-s deep recession of the early 1990s to emerge stronger than ever. Along the way, he became the top negotiator in the world. Trump is habitually punctual for every meeting, he always dresses neatly and professionally, he is meticulous in every detail, he delegates superbly like a CEO. Coupled with his Ivy League Degree in Economics, Trump has proven to be supremely qualified for the job, and his four years of sterling work, despite unending fire from the left and their media, have made him the most successful first-term president in history. Trump has appointed great justices, adhered to his campaign promises, delivered the great economy he promised, worked to balance unfair trade deals, restored our military, raised up blacks and hispanic employment to unprecedented levels, and increased consumer confidence to its highest in history. America is now the undisputed respected superpower in the world just as Trump had promised.

The future: Right now, the roaring Trump economy is showing no signs of slowing down. Notice every business you visit is advertising for more help wanted. There aren't enough people to fill the jobs Trump has created. The man has built a literal economic juggernaut. Trump will work to reduce the deficit in his second term. He will go after the sacred cows of entitlements, an area no politician heretofore has had the courage to address. Sanders , however, has promised to remove America from its capitalistic moors. His goal is to undo Trump's great economy. Wall Street is already reacting pessimistically to the prospect of even a Sanders nomination, knowing it would be disastrous for the economy if he were elected. All these jobs will go down the sewer under Sanders' socialist free spending agenda. The debt will skyrocket, and we will sink the Venezuelan status, while Sanders and his Marxist cronies would continue to enrich themselves more than they already have. Keep in mind Sanders is the preferred candidate of Soros who would stand to gain a fortune in plundered US assets, should America fall to the Communists. And Sanders is a Communist. Make no mistake about it.

Please. I am appealing to your better decent nature, forum liberals. Please do the right thing and don't let Sanders see the light of day. Don't let him near the nomination. Take the plunge and switch to Trump. Go out and switch your registration Monday. Maybe Mashmont isn't your cup of tea, but don't do this for me; do it for yourselves, your jobs, and your families.

America is destines for 4 more years of dysfunctional government either way.

If the economy is sooo hot why is Trump paying out cash to farmers?
It's so hot it can't go above a 3% increase in GDP...Same as Oblama economy but with more pom-poms..Rah!

the choice is very clear. vote against the mango marmot.

Leftists have been repeatedly told, the only people who benefit from socialism are the elites. And they ain't them. However leftists are far to mentally unstable to recognize these facts. Many are depressed, or suffer from anxiety or personality disorders and simply cannot understand what is going on.

The left is what it is.

The elites are already benefiting from socialism yet you support this program because Trump is doling out the cashola..

No, the economy was in malaise up until the 2016 election. In fact, the 12 months before the election, the stock market actually lost ground. But within three days after the election, the DJIA climbed 1000 points, within six weeks, 2000 points, and within three months, 3000. Now over 10,000 higher. Contrast that with the DJIA tanking 3000 points in the three months after 0bummer was elected. The guy just didn't have a clue, whereas Trump is a master at economics.

The plus with Trump is the possibility of getting things done. I can’t see another obstructionist as mercurial as Pelosi being speaker is the Democrats retain control of the house. Being a president is on the job training. You get your “first big thing”,then the rest of the term is fighting to get a second term where you can be more open to bipartisanship.

Bernie is going to be one big stalemate and a seriously poorly vetted orbit of advisors floating plans that will go nowhere.

Being presented with a tanked economy, the only way was up. The reason for the economic malaise was lack of leadership and poor economic decisions, holding back the private sector that pays the taxes and hires the workers.

For those of you stuck on stupid, you can write in Obama’s name in 2020, but be advised that by todays democrat party’s standards, he’s conservative - but yeah, he may be the best of the lot!

To put it another way, we have perhaps the MOST successful economic turnaround in history going on, and then we have a candidate who has vowed to undo it. WHY would you want that, leftwingers?? Why wouldn't you switch to the guy who orchestrated this booming economy, one Donald J. Trump?

You lost me right here. Why does it matter if Sanders didn't draw a "regular paycheck" until the age of 40? Donald Trump worked for his dad and constantly got bailed out. The dude lost over a billion dollars within 10 years.

We haven't had a recession yet, so the new foundation after the crash has proven solid and I have always considered Obama to be a moderate and conservative in some ways.

It tickles me when leftwingers say "Well Trump was a poor businessman because he lost a billion dollars". Well, derp. That means you had to have been a good enough businessman to EARN much more than a billion in the first place. And to imply Trump was bailed out by his father is ridiculous. Fred Trump was never worth more than $300 million, and that was at his death in 1999. Trump was a billionaire long before that.
