Great movie perhaps, one that addresses "Greed and class discrimination". Yet, Hollywood preaches from their lofty mansions, the question mark admiring elite pretends to know better than the average person how to live their lives. Don't forget, the south with all their "knuckle dragging rednecks" are the butt of the joke. What gives?

Maybe it has something to do with Parasite being a Korean film and not a product of American Hollywood.

The film has nothing to do with Hollywood.

I'm fairly sensitive to anti-South bias in movies etc. and don't know what you're talking about here. What does that quoted comment have to do with Parasite?

It's an odd movie in some ways because (without revealing spoilers) there's no clear 'winner' - it's not about the virtuous poor and the evil elite at all, really. Just about everyone in the movie is a POS in some way or another.

Manufactured concern if I've ever seen it.

The South had slaves for 200 years, fought a war to preserve the institution of slavery and then put in place laws which kept the Black Man down as little more than a slave for another 100 years. So, calling them "knuckle dragging rednecks" and making them the butt of the joke is apt.

Why would you argue differently?

Perhaps if the south would stop clinging to a regime which literally went to war to protect slavery people would stop thinking of them as backwards hicks.

Great story.

Great acting.

Great cinematography.

Great directing.

It was the obvious winner.

Yes, it's a foreign film, but it was such a clear winner over all the other films, why not pick it as #1?

Let me fix it for you

Democrats had slaves for 200 years, fought a war to preserve the institution of slavery and then put in place laws which kept the Black Man down as little more than a slave for another 100 years.

Get your history right.

LOL! Let me address your historical illiteracy: conservatives had slaves for 200 years fought a war to preserve the institution of slavery and then put in place laws which kept the Black Man down as little more than a slave for another 100 years.

Get your history right.

Too easy.

This turd thread deserves a flush

It's pathetic that anyone would think they were being clever by making a big show of not knowing about the demographic shifts between parties.

Oh, the demographic shifts huh. Is this the part where you are going to inform all of us how the Southern strategy had over 200 Dixiecrats switching party's and thats how the Republicans became the racist party?

Do tell.

I see you are used to having your stupid fox propaganda called out for being the pile of half-assed incoherent lies that it is.

I notice you start with a statement but when your asked to explain you continue to divert to other stuff. Why is that?

So are going to explain your demographic shift theory or just make worthless accusations all day.

And today, the GOP fights to protect their monuments.

Weird, huh?

Well if Trump mentioned it at a rally......His followers have to make an issue out of it.

Then a democrat had a "come to Jesus" moment and signed the Civil Rights Bill and all the Dixiecrats became Republicans … And that's the rest of the story

That crap is why the stereotypes of we southerners as knuckle dragging rednecks persists. It's ignorant, and that we have lots of the white South denying their history and blaming it on a political party makes this region's residents look stupid because it is stupid. What sustained white supremacy in the south wasn't the Democratic party but the entire white power structure, at every level, state, local government, police, courts, business, schools and churches.

Wow, I didn't know that. Thats just incredible. So who are these 200 Dixierats that were racist Democrats who became Republicans back in the 60's.

Surely there is a list somewhere on such an unimaginable event. Right? I mean, 200 Senators and congressmen changing parties would be a matter of record.

Care to share that information
