Why wouldn't Putin want Sanders, a much more sympathetic ear?

I see that the "Russia" hysteria is re emerging, thus the question. Have at it

One of the things about the Russian interference in 2016 that is seldom talked about is that they were doing much the same for the Sanders campaign. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were interfering on his behalf again in the 2020 primary.

I've never understood why Russia/Putin would have preferred Trump, a loose cannon who no one can control, and not Hillary, who could be bought for the price of a couple of Bill speeches.

The Russians were not interfering on behalf of Bernie Sanders. It was a matter of coincidence that Russian interference accurately revealed the DNC directly interfering with the 2016 primaries to assist the Clinton campaign.

They were interfering on behalf of Bernie Sanders. Mueller laid this out in his indictment of 13 Russian nationals.

I don't think Sanders is quite a sympathetic ear for Russia. Plus Sanders would push relations with allies better than Trump, and that would go ultimately against Russia's intentions. He wants discord and chaos, and no one sows that quite so well as Trump.

If O'Malley pulled ahead to have been a contender against Clinton, and the DNC had started to purposefully rig the primary against him in 2016, the Russians would have "helped O'Malley" too. It was a matter of convenience. Did you bother with even the cliff notes of what was in those 40,000 emails the Russians gathered through hacking, or would that get in the way of your narrative?

Sanders is more likely to listen to the USIC and the USDOD than knowsitall Trump

Because Sanders isn’t an autocrat, a plutocrat or a fascist.

The facts don’t care about your feelings for Sanders. The Russians helped his campaign early on and while O’Malley was still in the race.

You're absolutely high out of your mind if you think that A) The Russians went out of their way to help Sanders and B) thought O'Malley was ever a contender.

Get back in touch with reality. You're not helping anyone by wilfully keeping yourself ignorant to election interference.

Russia plays these games knowing it destabilized the country. Mentally disturbed leftists play right into it.

They had a nice hold over him. The Mueller report highlights 3 proposals to develop a Trump property in Moscow around the time of the election. Trump always denied it.

Plus, both Putin and Trump are oligarchs who share a disdain for democratic principles, traditions and institutions.

Are you accusing Mueller of lying in his indictment of those Russian nationals?

The mission of the Russians is most likely to keep factions of the US going at each other, thus less public attention will be paid to their own mischievous actions. When you find yourself up to your ass amongst angry alligators, it is much harder to remember that your mission was simply to drain the swamp. ;)

I'm accusing you of lying. Because that's something you routinely do.

It is hyphenated, actually.

The answer is that he is not anywhere near as compliant to Putin's desires as his bitch, bone spur.

Too bad Trump hasn't drained the swamp, he has just dumped raw sewage in it and continues to do so while mindless Republicans cheer him on with catch phrases like "MAGA", "KAG" and "Fake News".

Not coincidentally, its Trump's mission as well.

It’s right there in Mueller’s indictment.

You're misrepresenting Muller's statement by omitting key details. Can you not even address that the Russians interfered in our elections by exposing 40,000 emails that revealed the DNC worked against Bernie's campaign because of direct financial ties to Hillary Clinton?

I’m not omitting any key details. Mueller had it in black and white - Russians instructing their social media troll farms to support Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump because “we support them.” I hope the DNC did work against that Kremlin-backed socialist. And we’ll do it again if he makes it as far as the convention. He will never be the nominee and there’s nothing you can do about it. :)

You seemed to have missed my point entirely. If the US is dedicating its resources to protect itself from Russian (or other nation's) hacking or other nefarious online activity then they are less likely to be concerned with other activities that Russia may be involved in. Russia is neither pro-Trump nor pro-Sanders they are simply pro-US internal chaos and have found a very inexpensive way to help sow it.
