I'm not sure what the democrats are worried about. With Bernie currently in the lead, it looks like it will be Bernie v Trump in November.

Everyone knows all you need to do is tax the rich and everyone gets everything for free. It's a fact of nature.

Not even Putin can convince us otherwise. Not even Russian bots on Facebook. Why the concern? Start planning for Bernie's inauguration!

The lady on the phone is like Bernie, and all of us Americans are the lemonade stand guy:

I like free stuff yay!

Trump leads a Rebellion against the failed elites.

I have been pointing this out here all the way back to 2015, sadly too few have figured out that I am right.

Sanders will do it much better, he will tax "the rich" mercilessly and use the trillions in new federal revenue to make college and medical care completely free to everyone. That way everyone in the world will come here to become really smart and healthy with no need to work unless they want to live in a house or apartment since public housing is all filled up, but I'm sure that Sanders will address that unfairness in his second term.

Uh oh. So I think the democrats may know what's up. Somehow Bernie can't find the money from "all the billionaires" to pay for medicare for all, so he needs to put a new tax on those making $14 an hour and over.

He's terrible at his job, is causing damage that will last for a generation, and is a symptom of a growing fascist streak in the US.

Why, indeed.

trump is both the definition of a 'failed elite' - the person who lost more money than anyone else in the US until re-inflated by Russian money through Deutsche bank - and absolutely on the side with the 'elites' against the American people, some of whom he cons into a cult for him. The only - only - 'elites' trump won't like the boots of and pardon as needed are his 'political enemies' like Tom Steyer.

Trump IS the elite, which is why you are WRONG. He is using the presidency to enrich himself and his family, he IS elite and you are WRONG as usual.

You NEVER were better.

Your comments are highly irrational. They're like someone who hears Scientology, falls for it, and then starts mocking people for not agreeing with Scientology. It's very simple. Bernie will slash the overall cost of healthcare, replacing the current sky high payments with taxes, paid for by the American people, with the wealthy paying a higher share. It's a huge improvement. Not 'everything free' lunatic ranting.

See Putin wants Trump to be reelected

The only thing Putin can say to get Trump re-elected is to claim that Bernie can't pay for everything he promises.

99% of the population won't be swayed by "Russia", and they will vote for Bernie in droves. I mean, who wouldn't want free medical care when there's just going to be a tax on "just the billionaires"?

November will be 99% Bernie and 1% Trump. Why would I vote Russia when I see Bernie's pile of gold he's going to give me?

If you have to ask you're part of the problem.

Don't tax people making $14 an hour. There's plenty of money to take from the rich, the top 1% own 99%, so the democrats say. Why tax the working slobs for healthcare when there are billionaires?

True !

We had our fill of obama & crew. Now that hated Trump fellow is trying to clean OUT the MOB.

Hope he can do it and stay alive... but I'm not counting on it. The MOB is dangerous, always has been.

I'm going to go explain how to drive to a 2 year old, how to view quantum physics to a 4 year old, how to deal with romantic triangles to a 6 year old, and then I'm going to waste time explaining how Putin propaganda - at least a sentence or two how - works to you.

Putin propaganda isn't about 'the message', convincing people to believe something specific. It's about affecting voters in ways that Putin wants. Which primarily means suppressing the votes against trump, such as convincing black voters of bad things about the Democratic nominee, to get them to not want to bother voting, creating division in the party.

So, for example, if Bloomberg were the nominee, you might see Putin putting out a huge campaign telling Democrats how Bloomberg is a bigot, criticizing his wealth trying to 'buy the election', to discourage turnout for him, hyping the party divisions.

If Bernie is the nominee, you might see Putin's campaign hyping the 'socialist' attack on Bernie, trying to discourage the Democrats who don't like Bernie over that, hyping the party divisions.

That's how it works, not actual arguments about the issues meant to persuade people rationally. Anything to divide and suppress, to stoke divisions - "divide and conquer". By the way, you quoted the phrase "just the billionaires". It's a lie to imply you are quoting Bernie - admit that it's YOUR straw man lie, not what Bernie says.

This is the bizarre con man thing trump does, convincing people of the opposite of the truth, that trump is the 'enemy' of corruption, when he IS the corruption, he IS the mob. But somehow millions fall for his con and think the opposite. It's exposed a terrible vulnerability in millions of Americans as very gullible to huge lies. They'll believe trump, not their lying eyes, the FBI, the CIA, the news - all liars, trump is honest! Cult.

It is shocking how many seem so unconcerned about a President who could not care any less about the Constitution nor how damaging it is to warm up to Putin of all people.

I'll use a report of Bernie's plan from the ultimate in trusted 'news' sources, CNN:

Bernie Sanders rolls out wealth tax plan that would help fund 'Medicare for All' - CNNPolitics

Here's some "against the rich" jargon to generate emotional support for his plan:

Under Sanders' "tax on extreme wealth," married couples worth more than $32 million would pay a 1% tax on their wealth above that threshold. The rate would rise to 2% on net worth between $50 million and $250 million, climbing in increments to a 8% tax on wealth above $10 billion. The tax would be levied on single filers worth more than $16 million, with the top 8% rate assessed on their wealth above $5 billion.

Sanders has long railed against the growth in income inequality in the US, noting that over the last 30 years, the top 1% has seen a $21 trillion increase in its net worth, while the bottom half has lost $900 billion in wealth.
"We are going to take on the billionaire class, substantially reduce wealth inequality in America and stop our democracy from turning into a corrupt oligarchy," said Sanders, who earlier this year released a proposal that would expand the federal estate tax on the wealthiest 0.2% of Americans, imposing a top rate of 77% on estates worth more than $1 billion.

Here's the fiscal results:

The levy would raise $4.35 trillion over a decade, according to University of California Berkeley economics professors Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman, who analyzed the plan for the Sanders campaign. It would eliminate the gap in wealth growth between billionaires and the middle class.

Sounds like a lot. I've calculated how much money that is per year per person. This amount will "eliminate the gap":

$1314.20

Plus he needs to tax the $14 an hour people to do it. Now I know why Trump wants Sanders to win.

He's terrible at his job, is causing damage that will last for a generation, and is a symptom of a growing fascist streak in the US.

Why, indeed.

How ridiculous. There is no "growing fascist streak". What happened in 2016 is Hillary decimated the Democratic party. She was a terrible candidate, but she made herself even worse by chasing to the left of the spectrum our of fear of losing one vote to people with Bernie's ideology when she should have been digging in and standing firm from a moderate viewpoint. Her terrible campaign pushed people to Trump and the Republican party because there was no other place to be.

Trump is no right wing conservative, he isn't really even a Republican hence why the establishment Republicans tried so hard to defeat him.

Blame your own party for Trump. Hillary is like a cancer in politics, she killed your party.

by what standard are you using? Certainly not based on economic performance.
Yes, economic performance would be one of the criteria. I know, you folks think this is the "best economy ever," or some such.

1) It's not. Unemployment figures and stock market indexes paint such a poor picture of actual economic conditions for working Americans that it's utterly laughable to base economic claims on them.
2) Trump has done little to actually affect the trajectory of the economy. A president doesn't get credit for every job that gets created just because he happened to be in the white house at the same time. Presidents don't create jobs, hardworking Americans do that.

I could also point at the utter incompetence shown at virtually every level of his administration. So many Federal agencies staffed by useless cronies, I couldn't even begin to describe the damage being done. Our government's ability to function has been severely hampered in a way that will take a generation to fix. You don't give a ****, do you?
