[Live] 2020 Dem NV Primary Debate Live Thread!

No.

It will be Bernie-Stacy Abrams.

Warren might pick Pete, or maybe Julio Castro.
Didn't think of that. Yeah, that might work. And I really like the idea of Pete, if Warren were to prevail.

Last speeches:
Buttigieg's = lame, canned speech
Amy's = light weight
Bloomberg = less bad than the previous things he said, but if lots of people watched this disgraceful performance, he is toast anyway
Warren = good, could have been better
Biden's = good, actually talked about policies
Sanders = good, maybe the best

The bottom line is that he knew the popular vote would not determine the nominee and he agreed to those terms.

So what was the alternative?

The bottom line is that so long as a counterparty had a hand in shaping in the rules and authoring elements he obviously took issue and found flaw with, he is free to critique them; grudging agreement is obviously no proof against criticism.

The bottom line is that he knew the popular vote would not determine the nominee and he agreed to those terms.

Bottom line, that framework is broken and if it fails to nominate the nominee that got the most votes the DNC will splinter apart.

Final score, out of 10:

Warren - 10
Sanders - 8
Buttigieg - 7
Biden - 7
Klobuchar - 2
Bloomberg - 1

Why do the left believe that being rich is a crime? It isn't 1890 and these billionaires are not the robber barons of old.

If you want a bigger piece of pie then get to work and start making your own pie.

sanders supporters wanted the nomination in 2016 with a plurality of the votes, not a majority. Same now in 2020.

We already have one plurality party, the trumpublies. This is another of the dozen similarities between trump and sanders.

I want a candidate that has a consistent track record fighting for POC and the LGBT community. Do you still support a known racist and bigot like Bloomberg?

That is not how primaries or general elections are decided. Period. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

On the whole it was a good, satisfying debate, but I definitely took umbrage with the moderators being selective about allocating time to respond, which seemed to favour some candidates over others; they also completely lost control at times. Overall, I stand by my rankings:

1. Warren. (Superb early performance, but she lost steam later on, so I've reduced the spacing; still the clear winner)

2. Sanders.
3. Pete.
4. Biden.

5. Amy. (Had a couple of good moments, and landed some nice blows on Buttgieg but definitely was bloodied overall)

6. Bloomberg. (Utterly devastated)

Spacing intended.

Super Tuesday should shake out a few. It's like what a dozen, two dozen states on the same day?

Bloomberg can recover. All his dirt is out in public now. There was nothing there the average voter will hold against him.

I might agree. Especially if Sanders were to win with a gap of a solid percentage, like maybe 20% or more.

I can't speak for all of the left, but I believe that there isn't a single billionaire that has not earned their wealth. As long as Amazon employees are starving, or dying from a lack of healthcare, those billionaires are stealing from those people.

Liz used to be a Republican too. Ronald Reagan once was a democrat. Hillary used to be a woman....

How does that song by The Kinks go?

that ranks right up there with Charles Barkley noting the best golfer is black, the best rapper is white and Rick Barry's son was the slam dunk champion

So then why are you so diametrically opposed to democracy?

There's one constant throughout this whole process: Bernie is constantly first all alone, or basically right there.

sanders straight up flip-flopped his position on delegates from 2016.

Honesty, consistency, and a lack of skeletons in his closet.

He doesn't need to hide. He doesn't need to pretend to be something else. This is who he has been for his entire life.

He’s 2nd in delegates, and barely won the popular vote in IA and NH. This is another similarity BS has with trump. He’s the 25% candidate of the Democrats.

Well said! And it shows onstage & at the podium.

So then why are you so diametrically opposed to democracy?

The United States is not a democracy. We need a candidate who can win the electoral college and that isn’t Bernie Sanders. Besides, despite the nauseating claims that Sanders is the most popular politician in the history of civilization, the man is struggling to cobble together even a small plurality thus far when the ballots are cast. What is Democratic about crowning a man king on the basis of 1/4th of the vote?

Riiight, because billionaires just work harder.

Your usual rabid hatred for the man is noted.

Bernie Sanders is leading in Nevada an will likely have twice as many delegates as anyone else two weeks from now.

bernie has his skeletons, including one on rape. If he’s the nominee, you’ll find out what they are starting the week of July 13th.

After watching the whole 2 hours of the democrat debate the big winner is President Trump.

Democrats attacking each other proves why everyone should vote for President Trump.
