Boy Scouts file bankruptcy

Not even close. Boy scout membership peaked in 1972 and the Mormons left in the last couple years. Arcades then home video game systems then computers and the internet did far more damage to the BSA than the LDS church. Scouting just never kept up with the times.
 
The guy who started the scouts was a paedo, sounds like nothing much has changed over the years.
 
It took a while but the leftists finally destroyed the BSA. How sad. And a shame. Leftists viciously attack a wholesome program for boys, and as a result. It is done.

First leftists attack the BSA over their belief in God. Then they sued the BSA to allow openly homosexual men in there.

Homosexual men and lots of boys. What could possibly go wrong?

Keep beating that drum, as if every complaint has come to light since that ruling came down.

Fact of the matter is that BSA went the route of the Catholic Church and covered up the wrongdoing of lots of leadership for decades. The difference between them and the Catholic Church is that the church finally saw that that was a losing battle and came out publicly with a plan, even if they didn't really intend to follow it. The Scouts just went on acting like nothing ever happened.

They brought this on themselves.
 
The Boy Scouts should look to the prosperous, thriving Girl Scouts as an example of how to run a scouting organization.

The alleged risk of pedophilia by gays has been repeatedly debunked. Perhaps you should focus your faux outrage where it belongs, onto the leadership of the Boy Scouts.
 
Abuse of a child can happen anywhere. Home, daycare, school, church, sports and other activities that focus on kids. There are evil people in all walks of life. But having said that the overwhelming majority do not abuse children only a very minute percentage among us do.

All my life the Boy Scouts in my area was something boys looked forward to joining. It was a guy thing well until pressure was put on the organization to allow girls to join even though they had their own Girl Scouts in 2018. Sigh. But prior to 2018, boys would learn about fishing, wildlife, nature, survival, first aid, caring for others, strive to be their best and a whole lot more.

I read the BSA is asking for anyone who was abused to please come forward. With that information they will be able to comprise the data needed to identify the evil ones and at the same time be able to discover those who claim abuse that doesn't hold water. Yes there are those that do make claims they were abused when they were not. Especially if it means a possible payday for them.

Then also gay adult scout leaders.
Then transgenders.
Then girls.
And then filed for bankruptcy due to sexual assault lawsuits piling up.

Nobody could have seen this coming because putting gay men in tents with boys and heterosexual men in tents with girls was the socially right thing to do.

Did the NYC school system cover up the abuse? There is potential for child abuse in all institutions involving children. The issue is how that abuse is handled. As usual, it's not the crime. It's the cover-up.

You live in a fantasy. Every year the NYC DoE gets sued for one of its teachers sexually assaulting people or a hundred other reasons. Decades ago, teachers operated kind of like clergy. Everyone just sort of overlooked a lot of pedophile teachers. In this millenium, people do sue the education department.

They don't get to hide behind the authority of being teachers. Everyone gets taken to court. Ignorance of these cases is no excuse.

You don't care about the victims of Catholic abuse because you think DoE in NYC operates just like clergy. It's insane.

Own it. Move on.

The cost of hiding pedophiles for decades is high. They had 2000 claims by 1994. They had seen a problem in the 80s and instituted a number of measures.

The attempt to make this go away was institutional. If they can't pay their lights, that's on them. I'm sure the freemarket will replace them with something less pedophilic.

He doesn't understand that even if the DoE was running some shadowy national pedophile ring, everyone harmed by it would have the right to hire a lawyer. The DoE doesn't get to hide a teacher in some small town America where he can start over and everyone just looks the other way cause of their religious beliefs or because the wealth of the DoE must be preserved.

Tbe DoE gets sued regularly. Anyone pretending they aren't is fooling themselves. Imagine not being able to grasp that and pretending the DoE doesn't get sued instead.

The sexual abuse in the Boy Scouts has been going on since the 1940's.

One may read from time to time about a female sexually abusing a child but the males definitely take almost the whole pie in that category.

I don't think it is liberal or conservative caused but the simple fact is that men are pigs.

This was in my local newspaper. The Catholic Church knew he was a pedophile when they ordained him.

CLEVELAND — The Strongsville priest who was charged with possession of child pornography may be facing additional charges, Beacon Journal news partner News 5 Cleveland reports.

The Reverend Robert McWilliams, an Akron native who has been indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury on charges relating to child pornography, now faces allegations in Geauga County of engaging in activities involving child prostitution and hands-on physical abuse. McWilliams previous charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 17, 2018, McWilliams posed as a female minor in order to receive nude images of a teenage boy. He received a nude image of the boy’s genitals through electronic communication, according to Chardon Municipal Court.

According to the criminal complaint against McWilliams, he was in possession of child pornography three separate times—the first instance in 2016, again in 2018 and then one more in 2019.

McWilliams was ordained in 2017.

it has nothing to do with the left. if the boy scout leadership knew that this was going on and did nothing then they are liable for the damages.

they made their own mess now they have to clean it up. where were the other parents when this was going on is my question.

they should have reported and had these leaders arrested. it would have added to their credibility.
