The answer would certainly appear to be yes, and in so doing, the last vestige of Democrat credibility is demolished.

Trump controls some hotels, Bloomberg a vast media empire.

Which man is more dangerous to democracy?

Trump MAY be a multi-millionaire; Bloomberg IS a multi-billionaire.

Which man is more dangerous to democracy?

Trump once said he might not honor unfair election results; Bloomberg bought the New York City mayoralty 3 times.

Which man is more dangerous to Democracy?

Trump has joked about serving more than two terms as president; Bloomberg obliterated term limits in New York City.

Which man is more dangerous to democracy?

Trump supports enforcing our borders against illegal entry; Bloomberg supports redlining and stop & frisk for minority citizens.

Which man is more dangerous to democracy?

Trump was once secretly recorded bragging about his sexual prowess with women; Bloomberg's own employee created a book of demeaning sexist spewings by Bloomberg.

Which man is more dangerous to democracy?

Democrats say they seek diversity in representation, but rejected numerous candidates of color in their primaries, including their best chance to beat Trump in the extraordinary Tulsi Gabbard.

What do Democrats really stand for?

Democrats say they oppose Citizens United, but are prepared to support one of the richest men in the world as he seeks to buy the most powerful position in the world.

What do Democrats really stand for?

Will Democrat hysteria over the imaginary evil of Trump cause them to embrace the actual evil of Bloomberg?

And will this be the final self-inflicted death blow to their party?

Bloomberg will embrace the basic principles of the democratic party. Higher taxes for rich people, pro-choice on abortion, pro-immigrant to a point, pro-union, etc.

The most famous democrat of them all was Franklin Roosevelt who was a rich guy.

Do I detect a tremor of fear. So far you've described everything the Trump fluffers love about Trump. And he's even richer. What's not to love?

Democrats care only about gaining the power needed to force America into their UTOPIAN NIGHTMARE.

Can you define UTOPIAN NIGHTMARE for us?

I'm I guess a Democrat and I have no idea what my agenda is so any help from you would be appreciated, so I'll know what I'm working for. I thought I wanted just a few things, UHC of some kind at the top of the list, but I see I was wrong, and I'd like you to tell me what my REAL goals are.

Do we really think Bloomsberg can buy the DEM nomination with the 99% movement and Sanders socialism movement? What do you think would happen in a general election if Bloomsberg buys the DEM nomination? How do you think that would make all of those little Sanders and Warren donors feel?

Think about the repercussions of a Bloomsberg nomination? Will it be better or worse than the 2016 nomination? Will most DEMs feel disenfranchised or will they all line up four Mike in a general election?

It’s a mess. Bloomberg is a law and order centrist, the democrat party is not.. having said that, the democrat base seems willing to throw the progressive wing under the bus because Bloomberg can literally swamp the Republican media campaign due to his media company and unlimited money.

In short the democrats are willing to abandon their progressive appeal to elect a white, old, billionaire who is not bashful about his intent to buy the presidency. I get the hypocrisy, but political power is about winning the power to spend your money.

You all know the DNC talking points. A win is going to be expensive for citizens, but no one ever went broke underestimating the American voter.

My problem with Bloomberg's candidacy is that he didn't follow the rules the other candidates did.

He literally bought his way in after all but one of the debates had concluded. He did not qualify for the last debate because (as he well knew) he could not meet the requirements.

Thus he did not have to go through an initial "vetting process," allowing challenges to his positions.

He simply waited, then threw his hat into the ring just prior to the primaries, using his money to flood the airwaves (and cable-waves) with political advertising.

So we are getting "snippits" of his positions here and there, cobbled together IMHO by hired advertising public relations advisors. People who reviewed what moved Democrats the most after each of the debates in order to give him the most appealing "platform."

Now he is, despite coming in "last minute," the Democrats rising star. The Billionaire who can beat Trump.

Another member of the "elite" to beat an opposing member of the "elite."

IMO the epitome of partisan hypocrisy...is how I see it.

So you're saying Bloomie's an oligarch/fascist Trojan Horse who eagerly yearns for world war & US entry into same?

I can't disagree, and another DEEPLY troubling distinction from relative pacifist Trump.

Bloomberg = Everything Democrats mistakenly fear in Trump

Why yes Trump is such a pacifist he has other people do his murdering for him..

That may be true, but I don't know that rank & file Democrats are that ordered in their thinking.

They've been told to fear Trump, and are being herded by that baseless hysteria toward a man who may be as dangerous as - or more so than - Hillary was.

Your bolded does indeed very much describe the Democratic Party traditionally of years past, however. Back when the Dem rank & file was filled with blue-collar working men & women, often union, many of which were Catholic. That demographic pretty much defined my old neighborhood. Men & women of Faith who believed in freedom & capitalism, sex only in marital bonds, keeping your baby, Mass on Sunday, never taking a dime of government money for fear of neighborhood scorn, and not afraid to keep a gun around the house to protect your family and to try & drop a buck come fall.

I wouldn't want the present day Dems to give-up the social wars they've won - most needed to fought. But I sure as hell would like to see the big-tent opened-up to include the old crowd they've lost much of to Reagan and now Trump. We embraced Kennedy before, and there's no reason we can't embrace Bloomberg now.

Better watch out Bloomberg will have the Trump voters voting for their manliest men contest...

I'm not sure what this means.

Tulsi's the manliest candidate out there, followed by Klobuchar, Harris and Sexy Grampa Bernie.

LOL! That's funny, so so so funny. Your party is dead, stone cold dead within the realm of democracy. It died when you elected the bastard Trump.

Not political fear - just fear for the country and the planet as Democrats are yet again duped into supporting a candidate as dangerous and sociopathic as Hillary. I wouldn't know about *Trump fluffers* - I described why Bloombag's dangerous, and pointed out that this does NOT trouble Democrats; did you not understand the OP? Indeed he is. Exactly my point: Bloombag is in ACTUALITY everything Democrats fear & hate in the Trump of their FANTASIES, but they're ready to support him.

Tragic at best.

:hm

Err, the 'Democrat base' has swung wildly to the hard left, seemingly all the way to 'left out'.
If Bernie isn't the nominee, all the Bernie Bro's wills stay home, just as they did in 2016, so I'm expecting the same result if it goes that way.

If Bernie is the nominee his crazy public policy proposals will force more voters into the voting booth, holding their noses and voting for Trump.
Yes, crazy public policy proposals, some $90 Trillion in NEW spending, approx. 4 times the total present federal budget. Where's he going to get the money for that? He's always dodging this legitimate question with platitudes of 'millionaires and billionaires fair share', but the reality is that it'll be punitive taxation on the middle class and businesses, on whom the middle class rely on for their livelihood.

Dark economic times ahead for the nation should Bernie be elected president, and other than a few ill-informed, most are realizing this, including panicking Democrats (why do you think Bloomberg is even campaigning?)

Excellent points.

It's political suicide for the Democrats, but I'm more interested in the startling contrast between the monster Bloomberg ACTUALLY is and the monster Democrats IMAGINE Trump to be.

Many Democrats are prepared to embrace exactly what they fear...

...because they fear.

Swing Voter brought up FDR, and that arguably benevolent Democrat fascist hero was certainly right in what he said about fear, if little else.

If you can't make a contribution to the thread, please don't post to it again.

Thanks in advance.

Who died and made you boss. Your entire thread is dishonest and everything you accused Bloomberg of are all the things Trump is. It's my right to call out dishonestly and fake news when I see it. YOURS is it.

And the Democrats are truly addicted to the drama of self-destruction.

You see it well, and my OP was by no means definitive is listing what makes Bloomberg a reptilian to be shunned.

I cannot disagree.
