But it's more than that. Trump has repeatedly demonstrated a pathological need for self-affirmation, and self-aggrandizement.* He cannot allow anyone else to be in the limelight. In this instance, Trump probably failed to see the condemnation in the quote but only saw "the king" and he ran with that. Yeah, he said to himself "King Trump" I like the sound of that.

* I know more than the generals, believe me.
I had a larger inaugural crowd than any other president.
I was going to fire Comey regardless, over this Russia thing.
I own one of the largest wineries in the country.
Trust me, I'm like a smart person.
We have signed more legislation than anybody.
Etc., etc., etc.

He talks like he's a king, not a president. He doesn't see himself as a public servant. but a public master, able to issue decrees at will. Since he has this very vocal solid base, he feels empowered to attack and denigrate anyone who so much as raises an eyebrow. No one who opposes his policies or his methods or his rhetoric is honest or worth any respect whatsoever. Not private citizens, not law enforcement officers, not attorneys, justices or judges. He throws out words like 'treason' as if the idea of opposing him is somehow criminal.

Well then it is important to establish the line of succession before he dies and once again throws the GOP into chaos. It will probably be Donald Jr., since he is the eldest son. You'd be OK with that, right?

i don't see the US at serious risk of becoming a dictatorship. there are too many factors in play. for example, a significant portion of the electorate won't accept that, and the instability would screw up both the economy and the dollar's status as the global reserve currency. that's a lot of inertia. however, that doesn't mean that Punkinhead and his loyal duped can't do a lot of damage.

It is accurate that if you are going to publicly - or by a gossip campaign - try to ruin your boss's reputation and try to get him fired you have to kill him - if you want to keep your job. They failed - and their jobs went bye-bye. :lol:

I hope you're right, I really do. I don't think it will be a traditional "dictatorship", by putting the United States Presidency above the law and outside the checks and balances of the Constitution with the additional, unchecked, power of retaliation against ANY opposition we will have a effected dictatorship. Once/IF he's reelected then "they" will immediately go to work to disable the 22nd and make him president for life, then before he dies they will make the Presidency a office of succession. Done, carefully, the Oligarchs with the cooperation of the FED (more oligarchs), I believe, think they can pull their COUP off without much more than a recession (coming anyway) or losing our Reserve Currency status, at least until the Central Banks can come up with their next plan of perpetual robbery; they've about ridden this one into the ground anyway.

In any case Don Vito tRump must be defeated this fall or (I believe) the day of These United States and OUR Constitution are numbered.
