How Do You Feel About Black History Month?

When whites were pressured to stay off of the compass of Evergreen University here in olympia for a day, it was intended to be a day devoted to the victims, the so-called people of color.

Forget about back of the bus.....this was "You dont be around at all, we dont want to see your face, and you will comply, because the "victims" are in charge!".

:lamo

:boohoo:

Of course you dont have any decent response, because there is no way to even pretend that the Left gives a damn about decency.

Thugs through and through.

Ask your leader what decency means to him. Are theft and fraud committed by a national leader 'decent', in your opinion? And quit playing the victim; it's embarrassing.

So all a cross our country, in the year of our lord(2020) our school teaching's are all "Caucasian based"? Even in our urban minority majority schools ?

I think that it's fair to say that the textbooks used in those schools mainly describe the achievements of Caucasians since Jamestown.

I am guessing that some of the newer textbooks may, indeed, emphasize the achievements of other ethnicities, but in doing so, they may exaggerate things.

Since Caucasians have been the overwhelming majority until recently, it is only natural that they have made most of this country's history.

Good ... bad?

For me, I don't agree with it. If you do one race, should you not have to do all races?

What say you?

How in hell does this impact anyone is beyond me. Some people are triggered so easily though.

You can relax though as there will not be this thundering herd of Americans running to bookstores to read about Black history. Because Americans don't read in general. We just play on our cell phones and watch Kelly and Ryan.

How do all these days of celebration irritate you?

Yes, and much of that history was largely contributed to by black Americans; slaves, soldiers, airmen, civil rights activists, etc.

"IT'S HIS FAULT THAT I CLOBBERED YOU!"

Um no, you are responsible for what you do, the Left is responsive for what they do... I understand that people suck now and that far too many dont understand such basics as the reality of where one person ends and another begins but guess what, I do!

I think this is all exaggerated

I remember being taught in school about Harriet Tubman do you?

Or some early black congress critters

Or about some black patriots during the Revolution

I'm rather attracted to July 14; the prospect of a conversation praising the cow's contribution to the furtherance of human society, appeals; although I'm not sure how the cow would feel about it. Perhaps luther could help?

Thanks for not answering the question. Evidently Trump's 'values' are reflected in your own. Nice.

It is simply a fact that textbooks are not apt to become much thicker, thus priorities must shift (to exclude some white folks?) to allow for more non-white folks to be added to history text books. The same is true for national holidays, faces on currency and national monuments. This certainly occurred in order to add MLK (Jr.) to the national historical picture.

In all fairness, a FEW people of that ethnicity have been included in textbooks (e.g., Dr. Booker T. Washington).

But in the main, such textbooks have been devoted to the deeds of the majority ethnicity.

I know I laughed at this post already, but I really want to explain how much joy and laughter it brings me.

The poster here wants us to "forget about back of the bus" because some college kids told him not to come to campus. :lamo

Back of the bus was a law. People were arrested and beaten by police for sitting in the front of the bus. And here in 2020 racist whites are crying that college kids yelling at you is worse....

:lamo

Oh racist whites, how the mighty have fallen. As I've said, your tears water my soul and fill my heart and loins with joy.

yeah, I was thinking the other day how many more NEW paid holidays will Gov workers get in the future?

As many as legislators will give them - who is going to object to giving themselves another day off with pay? ;)

But so has some whites in history?

Come on Parser

Yep, just leave it up to them!(LOL)

Well, you are certainly correct that the said ethnicity played a major role in the outbreak of our horrific Civil War (latest estimates place soldier deaths at 700,000 plus).

Good ... bad?

For me, I don't agree with it. If you do one race, should you not have to do all races?

What say you?

It doesn't bother me in theory, but it really is a bit of a bumpy departure to have to put say the Civil War or one of the World Wars on hold to discuss George Washington Carver and peanuts. Why yes there have been many historical black people but because of slavery/Jim crow, their contributions to the nation as a whole were limited so a lot of them end up being light weight as far as US history.

So... why not just work within our already established education system instead of creating this "Black History Month"

I love it. It reinforces, in a very polite and condescending way, the concept that blacks are different based on their race: a separate people, if you will. This allows me to self-segregate in a 98% white town and no one thinks twice about it. For a 98% white town to exist, we also need majority black areas such as Baltimore. The blacks have to go somewhere, right?

Black history month is so cool. Oh yeah, poor them because there was Jim Crow. Now let me self segregate please... thanks, I'm in the clear!

Black History month is already part of our already established education system. It has been around at least since my parents were in school.
