Here is the published Communist goals for taking over the U.S.. These were actually read into the Congressional Record.

Let’s take a look at some of these “goals” and see what the hysteria is all about, shall we?
“1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.”
Uh..... considering a nuclear war would kill tens of millions, at least, not wanting to engage in one seems pretty damn preferable to most sane people.
“7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.”
Yes, the idea being to drive a permanent wedge between the USSR and the PRC, who’d been feuding for years. You can call Nixon a lot of things, but a “secret commie” is particularly ridiculous.
“8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N”
Totally irrelevant today, but equally irrelevant in 1963. Nobody was going to accept Germany as united and potentially in the other’s camp, and West and East Germany had already been functioning as independent states for the better part of a decade plus. You might as well complain about North Korea not agreeing to free and fair elections with the South.
“10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.”
This is just silly. Poland remains Poland no matter what political system they adhere to, and deserve a UN spot as a result.
“12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.”
So in other words they want the government to abide by the First Amendment, allowing foreign nationals to continue holding patents, and prevent people from setting up a system where folks might wind up swearing an oath to a man instead of the US, or swearing an oath to a regime which violates the constitution. How horrifying :roll:
“17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks
”19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.”
Considering that in 1963 there were plenty of folks who thought African Americans voting was “communist propaganda” this is particularly meaningless scaremongering, but it’s amusing to see the first hints of paranoia about the student movement and opposition to various brutal regimes which used communism as an excuse to murder huge numbers of their own people whose only crimes were opposing the regime.
“28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.””
First. Amendment. America was never supposed to have religion imposed by the state.
“35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI”
Hmm.....sounds like Donald Trump and his supporters.
“43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.”
Oh look, racism! Even a moderate amount of research shows how pathetically badly the Europeans ran their colonies, and in many cases totally failed to even begin to prepare them for independence. The Belgians are case in point.
“44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.”
Yes.....the
Panama Canal.
The rest of the list has just as many problems, but that should tell everyone what kind of stupidity and hysteria you lot are advocating
