Unless i heard things amiss

Fox News said mayor pete is in favor of legalizing all drugs, even heroin and fentynl

many pro life j(every day) Dems already wrote him off, though..

worse than wanting dangerous drugs made legit, he is in favor of late term abortion

i thought murderers and drug pushers were considered criminals?

I'm not sure silly is the right word.

I believe Mayor Pete is in favor of decriminalizing the possession of drugs. He is not "legalizing" the sale or distribution of drugs. Incarcerating people for possession has not solved the drug problem in this country.

He shares this position with Tulsi Gabbard, among others.

When did he say he was in favor of late term abortion? Leaving such decisions in the hands of the medical field is a sane position.

Calling people murderers and drug pushers on the basis of your own word twisting is not amusing.
 
I heard he wants to legalize marijuana and decriminalize the rest.

That's probably what Fox News said too.
 
At least he is correct on that issue. Wished the rest of the country would realize prohibition of readily available substances is a pointless endeavor that causes more problems than it solves.
 
The number 1 drug dealers in the country today where white lab coats and are called doctors.

As long as we also ensure that people that willingly engage in drug use disqualify themselves from federal and state tax dollars and relief services (private charities...have at it)...be my guest.

Not much difference true, but it shows how real news gets misreported. Fox listeners do that a lot, even when Fox reports it accurately.

Is it really willing if you're an addict? Maybe it once was.
What you suggest would only further incentivize people not to come forward when they have a problem.

I agree. This is a reason I am not Republican. It much preferable to deal with all addictions like we deal with alcoholism.

That said, I would not lift all criminal penalties. In fact I would increase them on those who use drugs on others, eg date drugs or getting someone hooked to force them into prostitution.

Do you consider the War on Drugs a success?

We have enabled cartels to make so much money they can actually outspend the U.S. government on the ground. That is a direct result of the WoD.

We have compelled them to provide violent private armies to protect their products and territories, because they have no legal recourse to police\legal protection.

We have prevented illegal drugs from having any meaningful quality control or standardization, leading to many easily preventable overdose deaths.

We have imprisoned millions of our own countrymen for non-violent drug crimes.

Just viewed in economic terms, studies have shown it would be far cheaper and more effective to simply provide drug treatment on demand for anyone who wanted it, compared to the status quo.

Perhaps you could provide some of the positive benefits of the WoD, so this isn't too lopsided?
