Attention Tweety fans : adjust custom realities to "so what."

After his acquittal, Trump no longer sees a need to lie about the Ukraine situation, so, now he openly admits to things he was denying before.

Trump contradicts his own denial and admits he sent Giuliani to Ukraine to dig dirt on political opponents

Trump rightly feels that there are no more checks and balances and he can do whatever, including, openly admitting to the things he was impeached for and previously called a baseless witch hunt.

Hmm, Thats funny. I remember quite conclusively where Trump told Zelenski on the famous call that he was sending Giuliani.

I guess you all forgot about that.

You guys need to get your lies straight.

I recall him saying he was sending Rudy before he sent him. Interestingly your calling looking for the truth "dirt".

I guess had Trump hired Perkins Coie who then hired Fusion GPS, who hired Christopher Steel to make stuff up; that would be acceptable dirt that could be used to weaponize DOJ, FBI, State, CIA.

Lot of threads for Rudy to tug at all over the world. He will be relentless.

Of course we remember. He also said he wants investigation into Bidens and Crowdstrike CT before he is willing to talk about military aid on that same phone call.

And then he lied about it anyway, and Republicans pretended like he did not say it.

So having black and white transcript where he says something does not preclude Trump and Republicans from lying and claiming it's not there anyway.

Sad part, everyone already knew this, even those who keep denying he has done anything wrong.

The saddest thing is that they are right in saying "so what." That's actually what the Senate acquittal signals. Some GOP senators even said in all words that they were convinced that the accusations were true and proven, but voted to acquit Trump anyway. There is no clearer "so what."

We now live in a country where the executive can do whatever, without the legislative providing checks and balances, and even the judiciary got partisan too and is now a reliable asset for the administration after Trump stuffed all levels of federal courts including the SC with sympathetic judges and justices.

We are effectively living in a Banana Republic now, where the president can do whatever he wants and the rule of law be damned.

I won't be surprised if his next move, after winning re-election, is to propose a constitutional amendment to extend term limits, like many dictators in South American banana republics have done in the remote and recent past. And it could even pass, if the route of is two thirds of state legislatures. There are currently 29 GOP controlled state legislatures so not quite there yet, fortunately, but close.

The only deterrent is that this would make Obama eligible to run again, and Obama would easily beat Trump in a general election.

How deep can the furrows on Susan Collins' brow get!

You're misinformed. At one point Trump said Giuliani went there on behalf of other clients. It's TRUMP who can't get his lies straight. Read the article before you comment. You obviously didn't.

I don't see presidential term limits going away.

Thats a lie. Show me where he stated that.

Given the fact that its actually in the transcript that he was sending Rudy, you look kind of hypocritical, don't cha think.

There were lots of precedents made in this administration, that I would never have expected before. We do seem now to be a lot more of a Banana Republic than I ever thought possible. I always thought, come on, this is the United States of America, this and that will never happen here, and then Trump proved me wrong, so, now I don't put anything past him and past the cowardly GOP.

It would require a constitutional amendment, which is exceptionally difficult.

I read the transcript. I know what he said. You live for moments to find something out of context to make yet another fake claim against Trump. Why?

Because sadly, its all you got.

Fake news

Wow, are you just pretending to be this blind?

He also denied (to the American people) that he had sent Mr. Giuliani.

However, I guess that that doesn't count any longer since he is now admitting that he had sent Mr. Giuliani.

PS - I understand that Winston Smith is going to be retiring soon, would you like a recommendation when you apply for his job?

What he's really saying is, "fudge you".

He laughs at us to our faces, and laughs at the GOP politicos behind their backs.

Fake news? We got it from the horse's mouth.

Really, show me

“No, I didn't direct him but he's a warrior, Rudy's a warrior. Rudy went, he possibly saw something,” Trump told former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly in an interview.

Asked by O’Reilly what Giuliani was doing in Ukraine on Trump's behalf, the president said: "You have to ask that to Rudy, but Rudy, I don't, I don't even know. I know he was going to go to Ukraine and I think he canceled a trip. But, you know, Rudy has other clients other than me. I'm one person."

Trump says he didn'''t direct Giuliani'''s Ukraine efforts. Witnesses say otherwise.

He's just a non-religious massive liar and con man.

What idiot doesn't know that?

What he's really saying is, "fudge you".

Exactly. That's the gist of his talk about shooting someone on 5th avenue. He knows that he can do whatever he wants, and he probably secretly thinks that his voters and the GOP politicians are all idiots. In the 2016 primary campaign, it was clear how much he despised the GOP, and now he manipulates them and uses them at will, in good narcissistic sociopath form.

Wow, are you just pretending to be this blind?

From the transcript

Mr. Giuliani is a highly respected man. He was the mayor of New York City, a great mayor, and I would like him to call you. I will ask him to call you along with the Attorney General. Rudy very much knows what's happening and he is a very capable guy. If you could speak to him that would be great

Giuliani decided to go over to Ukraine and depose a few people.

All you want to do is try and take conversations out of context to make yet another stupid point.
