Trump has expressed admiration for dictators and seems not to “get” our system of government. He scorns democratic countries and the institutions they have set up. He’s a dictator wannabe. Article two of the constitution says he can do anything, he argues. Fortunately, our system is strong enough to withstand him. But he is stylistically a fascist:

-his notion of himself a strongman, “I alone” can solve some problems,
-his creating scapegoats in immigrants, refugees, blacks, etc.
-his personal attacks on opponents
-his highlighting of immigrant crime (which is at a lower rate), exploiting their victims grief, much as was done by Germans with respect to “Jewish” crimes
-the notion that immigrants “infest” us. (At lead the didnt use the word “vermin.”)
-his suggestion that US armed forces commit war crimes (“take out their families”)
-he pardons of personnel that did... isnt he planning to campaign with one?
-his suggestion of torture “worse than waterboarding”
-his birtherism
-the lynch-mob rhetoric of his Central Park Five ads
-his attacks on the media, the “alternate facts” pushed by his supporters
-his focus on personal loyalty to him, not the Constitution

Trump is a combination of Mussolini and Foghorn Legorn. Completely self unaware. UN delegates laughed at him, and he said they were laughing with him. We’ll all recover and try to explain him to our grandkids when they ask, “ What were you thinking?” Ans.: “You had to be there.”

Trump is the President of the US. He is the head of the Executive Branch. Period. End of story. He doesnt make law. He doesnt alter law. He does what Obama, Bush, Clinton, and every other president has done.

So the role of the president is to insult blacks, Hispanics, women, to compare immigrants to poisonous snakes, etc. Got it. But when did the Bushes or Obama do that?
