I hear people talking about how the system is Rotten. I do believe that is true. However, No Rotten system can survive without Rotten people. The so-called democratic system is rotten from its roots. Americans keep electing corrupted congress and senate members regardless of their prior knowledge that these members represent the interest of their cronies in corporations and Wall Street banks. Congress and Senate members are receiving money from lobbyists, and they aren't hiding it. A system that money able to buy it shouldn't be called democratic.
Our economic and financial system is rotten. American Administrations started from Reagan removed slowly but steadily any regularity designated to control Wall Street banks and keep them away from gambling with people retirement and pensions. Most recently, Donald Trump issued two executive orders, the first one related to Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and the consumer protection act, while the second related to the law's Volcker rule. American people brought misery upon themselves by trusting these rotten institutions, systems and officials. Does anybody recognize what happened in 2007/2008 and how many bankers went to jail as a result? American taxpayers paid over 800 million dollars to save financial institutions that gamble with people's money. These institution CEO's aren't elected by people by any means. The Federal reserve bank isn't a government institution, and people running the show there isn't elected. The head of the treasury department can't enter the FDR bank in NewYork or their branches in the state without its chairmen's approval.
Our family and social values are broken. Drugs take over the streets, government wage war on people, not drugs. It is just another pretext to restrict people's freedoms. Governments running a covert operation abroad, spying on each other and taping people's conversations across the oceans, but can't control their streets. Human trafficking is an industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars each year. It is another example of how streets are spinning out of control, and how law enforcement agencies worry about unfinished paperwork than saving the victims. Watching documentaries like Tricked(2003) forced me to feel the horror of not only the victims but their families too. I can't believe that pimps, another terminology metaphor for a human trafficker, hold meetings and parties in broad daylight in front of law enforcement agencies that they don't make any arrest regardless of human trafficking victims exist in the place.
Capitalism is corrupted, people manipulate it. Everything is commoditized; Water, electricity, health care, grains, garlic, Cacao and you name it are subjected to a ruthless and faceless profit regime. It isn't supply and demand or market, it is manipulative and monopolistic. When the prices of Cacao on the international market goes up, companies pass it to the consumers and pressure the poor farmers to accept less money for their produce. But, when the prices on the international market go down, companies pocket the profit, and the price of the final product won't go along with it. Health care is another example of a greedy and selfish system. The United States is the only industrial country without universal health care. American media call countries with such a system different names, communist and socialist is an example. Mark Styen in the "America Alone" book linked between citizens paying for their health care with western civilization survives in the struggle with Islamic expansion worldwide.
The system we live in is Rotten with all kind of manipulated practices. But why not? Everybody seems to do it. Value Village posts as a charity and non-profit asking people to drop unwanted cloth and furniture. However, the company found to make a profit of one billion dollars a year. Other stores that sell discounted brands merchandise lied on their customers, selling them average quality merchandise. people on the internet making living by posing with a review for products they never use, who cares? No regularity to hold them accountable nor the companies paying for them.
Flint is just a little example of an ugly reality that people live daily. The glorious almighty country can't solve a water problem of a small town in Michigan. You know, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg don't own houses there. Flint residents are just a number to be called by these rotten politicians just before the election, promises are made but no action on the ground. The politicians themselves are on the payroll by corporations and their lobbyists to keep silent. Nestle, the famous bottle water company, pumps millions of gallons of Michigan springs and wells paying fraction making extremely huge profits. However, after more than 5 years, the town of Flint, Michigan still without clean water.
