The headline says it all. We all know what Stone did.

I just watched the POTUS, the country's leader, say that nobody had any idea what Stone did wrong. This is after Stone was convicted in court. This is the POTUS telling America and the world that they should not trust the American justice system.

I think calling the USA a Banana Republic is becoming a kindness to the USA. And I feel particularly sorry for non Trump supporting Americans, because when you travel, you're going to be laughed at just as if you were a Trump supporter.

Opinions?

I hope he does pardon Stone. A don should always remember to do favors for loyal foot soldiers.

When czar trumputin NSA director Robert O’Brien has to say we’re not a banana republic, you know we’re a banana republic.

There are ZERO guardrails on this mob boss because of the complicit GOPutins in the Senate, led by moscow mitch and leningrad lindsey.

There is no moral or ethical grounds to support the “law” that trump intends to impose.

Don't panic. Do what this lifelong fiscal conservative and foreign interventionist is doing.

Blue wave.

We should also consider how quickly the prosecutor would have dropped all charges on Stone
had he agreed to implicate Trump is something!

Oh, Trump will pardon all of his buddies the day after the election. No doubt about it.

The only ‘law’ trump wants to impose is ‘lawlessness’. There are ZERO moral or ethical republicans left. That must be one of the top messages for November.

The non-fascist media must stop giving trump free air time to vomit up his lies, distortions, threats, insane word salad and treason.

We’re well past time for the Democrats to have a TRUTH SQUAD counter trump each and every time he speaks and tweets.

Lol, a welcome distraction to keep you folks from m from discussing the communist leading your nomination delegate count at the moment.

Anything to avoid discussing this abortion of a candidate field.

I see you agree that ‘individual one’ can be implicated by stone. You just described how Giuliani brought down the mob. I endorse your comment.

Hmm... do you you expect that he will have a bit more flexibility then?

If trump believes in lawlessness, then why should anyone respect his wall or his authority?

When one "floats a pardon", or any other idea, they are usually the one to bring it up. I saw a reporter ask him about a possible pardon for Stone. He said, paraphrasing, he has the authority to, but is presently staying out of it. Thread title kind of misleading.

Everyone knows it’s a BOIL for you to call Sen. Sanders a communist, Erod. Blatant Outrageous Irrational Lie;

The only distraction I read in your post is ... well, it’s your whole post.

You can add together the faults of every single Democratic politician that’s ever lived and not come close to the CLOT that trump is. Corrupt Lying Obstructionist Traitor

He shouldn't pardon Stone. This wasn't an entrapment, but a clear and conscious effort to lie to Congress and intimidate a witness. If the sentence is excessive, say over two years, Trump should commute his sentence effective that date.

But "what about".....

No, because you need boogeymen, so that you and your cult are able to mindlessly chant lock them up for years and years without ever actually doing so, and then of course you need to preserve your what-about card for times like these.

The thread title is spot on. One of the few phrases trump repeats ad nauseum is “I haven’t interfered but I have the right to”. Everyone knows trump ALWAYS interferes.

How do you people that support trump process his insane word salad? trump reminds me of screw-face and the ‘retribution’ song on a Stephen Seagal movie.

“I have the right to accept oppo research from foreign adversaries to get re-elected “. “I can continue murdering people while I’m doing it and can’t be stopped”. That’s what trump people support.

Some very remarkable things have occurred in the Roger Stone trial.....

1) The president of the United States injecting himself into the sentencing of a convicted felon (Roger Stone) who is a long-time friend of this president. In my memory, this has never ever happened before.

2) Less than 12 hours later, the Justice Department sends a brief to the trial judge characterizing the sentence recommended by the trial prosecutors as "too harsh" and goes on to give various reasons why the sentence should be much lighter. This brief actually reads like something the judge would receive from the defense counsel concerning sentencing. This DOJ brief is extraordinary. In my memory, the DOJ has never interjected at the trial level. It is painfully obvious that the DOJ is following the presidents lead here.

3) In a celebrity case like this, the trial prosecution team has complete control and oversight. However, employing "line-process" they might run a sentence recommendation by the supervising US Attorney if they are unsure of anything. In this case the immediate supervisor would be the US Attorney for the District of Columbia. This did not happen, so the prosecutors must have felt that their sentencing recommendation was (a) fitting under the conviction circumstances and (b) met US federal sentencing guidelines. The top echelon of the US DOJ interjecting itself at trial level is unprecedented. Federal trial prosecutors never check with the Justice Department concerning their sentencing recommendations.

4) All four prosecutors have quit this case after their sentencing recommendation, but before the judges sentencing decision(s) has been rendered. In my memory, this also has never happened before. It is my understanding that one of the trial prosecutors has left the Justice Department, and the other three have resigned from the case but remain employees of the DOJ. This is clearly a protest by all four prosecutors against what the William Barr DOJ has done here. Similar to Mike Pompeo undercutting his career diplomats, William Barr has publicly undercut his prosecution team here in order to please Trump.

5) The Justice Department is trying to play its interjecting off as "routine". Balderdash. This DOJ interjection here is not routine. Nothing quite like this happens ... ever.

6) I personally thought the prosecution sentencing recommendation was perhaps a tad too stiff, but the answer is not to say "how high" when the president says "jump". The trail judge has sentencing leeway, and every defendant has the opportunity to appeal their conviction and sentence.

Why is trump planning making a deal with Russia ton denuclearization?

It's hilarious that one comment taken out of context and a tan suit are all you guys have on Obama...

He corruption in this administration will be year long college courses just for future historians to shift through it all...

If there was any doubters remaining, Trump's actions with Stone, and,no doubt eventual pardoning of him, should prove just how corrupt the Trump administration has become.

The Republicans who think Trump has "learned his lesson" are either stupid or lying.

If you mean "Communist" with a big "C", then you might have a complaint. So far no one has yet found his Communist Party USA membership card. On the other hand, its pretty clear he is a "communist" with a small "c" - you know "comm symp", "fellow-traveler", "pinko". I mean really, who takes their bride to celebrate their honeymoon to Cold War Communist Moscow, sitting around the State bar drinking vodka and laughing it up with his Russian "comrades"?

Simply put, he's a relic that downplays his past and obscures his politics behind generic "do-good" liberal platitudes and slogans; much as the Stalinists did in their common front tactics.

Liberals, much to their shame, bought it then and are buying it now. So ya, he's a red...
