The day democracy died

Ironic since Trump is proof that democracy is alive and well in America.

None of the rich and powerful wanted Trump; their boy was Jeb Bush and they gave Jeb over $2 billion for his campaign.

The grass roots elected Trump, people who used to be democrats BTW.

Trump was the first time I've seen voters in my lifetime punish Washington for their lies and corruption. I didn't think we had it in us.

I didn't want him. I held my nose when I voted against Hillary. But I've had to admit, the guy has accomplished more positive things in 3 years than the past four presidents did in 36.

Funny song except for those who are trumpsters.

The day democracy died was when the deep state used a foreign spy and fake dossier, etc as an insurance policy in case Trump won the 2016 election, expanding to the Mueller report and then an impeachment with no evidence with Adam Schiff declaring that we can't leave this up to the voters and Pelosi handing out impeachment pen souvenirs. All in an attempted coup of the presidency. However, Democracy finally won out, so far, but the deep state is still at work to overthrow the presidency.

If democracy has died, what's going on in New Hampshire today?

A few DNC non-super delegates will be awarded to many different demorat primary candidates and Trump will get all of NH's RNC delegates.

Ah, exactly what has trump done except give a trillion dollars a year to the very wealthy and thus drive up the deficit and the national debt. By the way trump now says we do not have to worry about either until 2035. He has alienated from our allies and made us a laughing stock around the world. He has hurt our farmers with hi tarrif wars and now the new pacts are worse than the old as he had to give in to Canada, Mexico and even china to get "deals" before the elections. He has turned the DOJ into his own political hit squad. I gues you could say he at least did not ruin the great economy he got from Obama. trump will end up taking health insurance away for up to 50 MILLION Americans and insurance companies ill no longer have to cover pre-existing conditions once the GOP controlled SCOTUS ends the ACA. He has given control of the Middle East to the Russians and Iran and now the Pacific to China, see my other OP about the Phillipines. So exactly what great things has trump done?

Smoke and mirrors...

What a laughable assertion. There was no end to the rich and powerful who wanted twump elected.

The only reason that twump was elected is that people stayed home and didn't vote.

LOL! It's exactly the opposite. They celebrated corruption and lies in Washington by electing him.

He is the single most corrupt president in our history. It's why you love him.

I don't get it. What has he accomplished? I mean, he's appointed a bunch of conservative judges. But that's really more McConnel's win for keeping the vacancies open and waiting. Any Republican President could have done it. And unless you're really in the tank for the GOP, eroding the independence of the judiciary is no accomplishment.

He's been president while the economy hasn't collapsed yet. So that's nice, but the manufacturing sector is in recession when he promised to bring all the manufacturing jobs back, and his trade war is contributing to it.

Let's see. He signed a huge tax cut for the rich that exploded the deficit without giving us the 4, 5, 6 percent growth that he promised.

Are these the accomplishments that you're so happy with? Tax cut, conservative judges, economy hasn't crashed yet. Seems like a low bar. What else have you got?

Now let's look at his failures. He promised us that he would repeal and replace Obamacare with something "much, much better." Healthcare for everyone, cheaper, better. Easy. Instead all he did was sabotage Obamacare and leave it there hoping it will fall by its own weight eventually.

He was supposed to get Mexico to pay for the wall. That isn't happening.

He gave away the farm to North Korea and got nothing in return.

His trade war with China has no end in site. And here's the weird thing. He picked a trade war with Canada and the EU at the same time. That put us in a much worse position to negotiate with China. Shouldn't a great deal maker know this?

He was supposed to secure the border. That hasn't happened.

He was supposed to deport all 11 million illegal immigrants. That didn't happen.

Do you consider prodding Iran to restart their nuclear program an accomplishment?

Coal jobs continue to decline.

Is calling climate change a Chinese hoax and scuttling the work Obama did to position us as global leaders on the issue an accomplishment?

I just don't get it. Please explain to me why you like this guy so much.

The difference between liberals and conservatives. Liberals think that the govt is owed every cent you make and are doing you a favor by letting you keep some .

Well, i think some people define "democracy" as "the people I like win".

It's quite simple actually.

The economy is thriving under a president who has done everything possible to make the markets fertile. Money that sat on the sideline for years because of a lack of trust in Obama is now in play. Companies are expanding rapidly with confidence. This isn't a continuation of anything. We've seen steady growth at rates Obama said were not possible. And despite the MSM's insistence that this just a bubble, there appears to be no end in sight. He's destroying your party with this.

Trump is requiring our allies and trade partners to finally do their share. No more free rides while they berate us at every turn.

He has single-handedly destroyed the mainstream media, which is the greatest enemy of the United States. For years, they've cloaked themselves behind this charade of "journalism" without doing a stitch of real reporting. Democrats successfully infiltrated the media, academia, and science, and they've controlled the message vicariously through those corrupted arenas for years. Not anymore. Trump exposed them for the band of gypsies, tramps, and theives they really are. Their impact is largely squashed, and they'll have to rebuild their integrity with Americans from scratch. Beautiful.

Unemployment is at historical lows, particularly among minorities. That's the main reason Trump has a 42% approval rating among black Americans, along with the multiple outreach programs he's working on with them.

Real jobs with real wages are up. It's hard to find qualified people nowadays for good jobs because they're already employed.

Tax cuts for EVERYBODY. Stop lying about this. Everybody got a tax break.

New trade agreements that are benefitting American workers. FINALLY! We've been promised this for decades, only for them to be empty promises. China capitulated, and that agreement will evolve over time. You've got your head buried in the sand.

Real action against illegal immigration. No more empty words. The wall is getting built, slowly but surely. Measures are being put in place, despite the fact that California is actively trying to open their borders wide. This will be an ongoing fight with Democrats who seek to destroy this nation's sovereignty.

Real, qualified judges on the court. Sotomayor and Kagan have no business being on the Court. They don't have the qualifications, unlike Kavanaugh and Gorsuch.

ISIS has been obliterated. Al-Quaida is reeling. Terrorism has no footing right now.

True support for the military and police, unlike what Obama did to them, especially the police. What happened to the Black Lives Matter nonsense? That isn't being fed by our president. Instead, he's reached out to them for real change, not political posturing.

He's withstood a constant barrage of unfair and fabricated attacks from the media and Congress. These things would have never been done to previous presidents, but he's a true outside that they want out, so no rules seem to apply anymore. He's met them at every challenge, and they are going nuts. He's a special person for a special time because I don't think anyone else could have endured it without ending up in a mental ward.

Etc, etc, etc....

His negatives.......?

I don't like much of his style and mannerisms. However, like most conservatives, I don't judge by my feelings. I look at results, and he's bringing them in bushels. I think it's time for a softer tone, but I understand why he's like he is when I see the constant attacks on him by fabricated means.

I do want the debt and deficit spending to be brought into check. He's beginning that process, and a second term will be required to get all this in order. But it needs to be brought into focus.

Get off the Twitter so much. I love that he has a way to talk to Americans without the need of the media. It drives them crazy, which is awesome. But it needs to be far less frequent.

When he wins, which he will, he needs to take a different approach in his final term. Quiet down the rhetoric, and let the media continue to drive themselves into obsolescence.

Ok, I think we may actually be getting somewhere here. I'm going to restate what you've said so that we both know we're communicating effectively.

Your primary reason for supporting trump is his handling of the economy. You believe that more money is being invested, businesses are expanding, and the economy is growing steadily at a rate obama could not have imagined. Everything else you said about the economy flows from that. Low unemployment, wage growth, etc.

You also support trump's foreign policy. You believe that trump has all but defeated ISIS and al Qaida, and that china has capitulated in the trade war. You like the new trade agreements. You believe that he has put more pressure on our allies to contribute more, and that they had previously been deriding us.

You believe that trump is supporting our military and police, unlike obama.

You believe that trump has "endured an unending barrage of unfair and fabricated attacks" and that this justifies his abrasive tone.

You think his judicial appointments are more qualified than obama.

On the negatives, you don't like his style, but you don't really care. Your only real concern is the massive deficit that his tax cuts have racked up. But you believe he will address that in his next term.

Did I miss anything? Did I accurately reflect each of your points? I had to cut out some of your quote in order to get inside the forum character limit.

Democracy dies the day the fascist left seizes control of the nation.

YOu sound a lot like you are for a facist state where the president, i.e., the dictator rules all.

Biden, his son, and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
The day...their campaign....died.

cmon sing it with me!

A president that does what the people elected him for is not a dictator. He is a public servant!

Nah, he's a pimple on a few asses is all.
