    Trumps Slither to Authoritariansim

Great piece on CNN how Trump is doubling down after his victory in the Senate and now tries to take even more steps to being a uncontrollable authoritarian.

Trump weaponizes the Presidency after impeachment - CNNPolitics

    A taste of the article

(CNN)Donald Trump is moving fast in the wake of his impeachment trial to use the government to punish his enemies and pursue his political ends, underlining how his acquittal has helped make him one of history's most powerful modern Presidents.

Trump has meted out retribution to officials who testified against him in the impeachment inquiry, is making a push to defy Congress in funding his border wall and appears to be seeking new ways to hector former Vice President Joe Biden after facing down a mortal threat to his presidency.
He is completing his project of fashioning the office around his own personality. It's unrestrained, unaccountable, often profane, impervious to outside influence and factual constraints of normal governance. The President has established dominance over his party, his Cabinet and his own media complex. He loosened Congress's constraints by refusing to cooperate with the impeachment probe.
The result is that there are very few political constraints on his behavior left.
Trumpkins will of course dismiss the piece but the rest of us can only shudder in anticipation of a Trump answerable to nobody and beyond the law.

The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Trump will always be answerable to the law...just like every President before him.

And there will always be the same political constraint on him that every President before him has had: The voter.

Now...if you want more, say, someone in his administration who hates him and doesn't mind breaking the law by leaking classified information to the media...well, yeah...that's going to end. Too bad if that chaps your ass.

Presenting the source is the only honest thing to do.

Trump is beyond the law if the checks and balances do not work and they have not so far. His re-election would only compound the travesty.

They obviously do not know the meaning of the words they use.
    authoritarian
favoring or enforcing strict obedience to authority, especially that of the government, at the expense of personal freedom.

no where do i see this happening.

Vindman was re-assigned for good reason.
