Stacey Abrams for veep

Certainly not the worst choice, but it might do to field someone who has actually won a major election, either at the gubernatorial level or Senatorial level.

I think that since she is the poster girl for victims of voter suppression she'd be an excellent choice. She also appeals directly to the D base. Finally, djt wouldn't be able to handle it. A strong black woman opposing him, he'd definitely crack and say something that used to disqualify people from winning.

She is also one who is so small that she still claims that she won, she does not accept the results of elections, you know....doing what so many on the Left claim to be afraid Trump would/will do and have their hair on fire over.

Throw her back, we have to do better.

You're gonna need a source for that claim.

Lol, Stacey Abrams? Sure, grab someone whose only accomplishment is losing an election and whining about it.

The only way I am voting for a Democrat is if Tulsi is picked as VP or it is announced ahead of time that she will be SoS. If I feel like she will have a heavy influence if not control of foriegn policy I will vote. If you want to get the anti-war crowd on board and increase your chances of beating Trump then I would suggest Tulsi as VP or at the least SoS.

you'll be voting republican, cause it ain't gonna happen

Imo Kouchabar has the strongest resumee for the VP spot.

...and she could bring along Minnesota? Sorry, not a Klobuchar fan.

As much as I admire Stacey's daunting endeavor, for me, her defeat in Georgia does not out-shine Val Demings current relevancy as an effective Floor Manager in the recent Senate Impeachment trial.

Similar background to Sen. K Harris. Prosecutors have a hard time these days.

So you believe that the 700,000 voters purged from the rolls would have all voted for Adams? I mean those that are real voters, and all....

Maybe you could explain how the highly partisan GA SoS that ran for Governor and benefited from the purge equally balanced the parties when purging the rolls?

Democrats: Trump is bad. The economy is bad. People are not happy. They hate Trump and want him removed from office. They think he is destroying the nation. And so forth.

Christians: Thank you, Lord, for giving us jobs, liberties, a good economy, relative peace in our nation, freedoms from tyranny and oppression. And so forth.

You are of course referring to the same lord that looks over the unemployed, prisoners, homeless, families that have people gunned down for no reason and the children of hopeful immigrants that are currently caged in America's detention centers. That lord? Or maybe you misunderstand what it means to be a Christian?

You're dissembling.

You said that Abrams failed to pay her taxes. That was a LIE. She submitted her tax return ON TIME and CHOSE to enter into a payment plan (as is the right of EVERY taxpayer upon submission of h is/her tax return every year). At no point was she delinquent. At no point was she penalized by the IRS. She completed her payment plan AHEAD of schedule was a never fined or penalized a dime by the IRS. FACTS MATTER.

So again, you LIED. I called you on it. And now you're dissembling because you realize you got caught.

True. Trump has run 5 separate business entities into bankruptcy, though. He's been sued over 3500 times by contractors he has stiffed and cheated. He has been penalized for racial discrimination in housing twice by the federal government. He has defaulted on so many personal and business loans that no bank in the entire U.S. will lend to him...to this very day. Since the 90's, Trump's life has been financed entirely by Russian, Chinese and Middle Eastern banks and oligarchs.

But that's all ok, he's still your idea of a successful businessman.

And let's not even get into his personal life. You don't want to go there, do you? I think, not. :lamo

And you people whine and wonder why you good people don't take your opinions and arguments seriously.

Don't forget that djt's sister left the Federal bench (a lifetime position) because a judge would have to go through an ethics hearing regarding the Trump family tax dodge. Why did she step down from the bench?

142 posts? Why are we still talking about this unqualified dishonest obese hippo?

Because we're still allowing idiotic posts from people who may have broken mirrors and scales when they used them?

Unlikeable by the huge majority in her state who did not vote for her. And then this POS has the nerve to scream false allegations of racism about it.

skin color is not a factor in who I and most of the non-Leftist and non-Democrats vote for.

The only large number of racists in America today call themselves "Progressive" or "Liberal"

I judge people by the content of their character not the color of their skin. You should try it some time.

One of the most patently obvious false posts I've ever seen.

Maybe you could explain how the highly partisan GA SoS that ran for Governor and benefited from the purge equally balanced the parties when purging the rolls?

I'm sure you already have the answer you want.

You are of course referring to the same lord that looks over the unemployed, prisoners, homeless, families that have people gunned down for no reason and the children of hopeful immigrants that are currently caged in America's detention centers. I take it you find fault with the Creator God and His Only Begotten Son Jesus?

I take it you find fault with the Creator God and His Only Begotten Son Jesus?

Not at all. Faith is a wonderful thing. I do have a problem with the fence you put around who can participate in that faith.

You have not said anything in this thread, at least not to me.

"Why, because you say so?

What is "false"? be specific." Short term memory loss? Or maybe your dp account has been hacked.

Unlikeable by the huge majority in her state who did not vote for her. And then this POS has the nerve to scream false allegations of racism about it.

Umm...ridiculous comment. In that race, a full 1/3 of Georgia voters held unfavorable opinion of her opponent, Brian Kemp. Less than 1/4 Georgians held unfavorable views of Abrams. In the end, Abrams lost by just a hair over 1% of the total vote (i.e. 50,000 votes) in a bright red state that has not elected a Democratic governor since before the turn of this century. And that's without weighing the corruption involved on behalf of Georgia Gopers in that race.

skin color is not a factor in who I and most of the non-Leftist and non-Democrats vote for.
Nonsense. You people prove that to be a lie every time a minority candidate begins to gain traction/popularity. Some of the comments from the righties in this thread are an example of that.

The only large number of racists in America today call themselves "Progressive" or "Liberal"
...so say most bigots and racists on the Right. You're talking about the same crowd (i.e. YOUR crowd) that called Obama a racist. There is no prominent African-American politician in the country who has not been accused of being "racist" or of "reverse racism" by your crowd, Casca. That's no coincidence. The comment, above, illustrates that so many of you don't even understand what racism is.

I judge people by the content of their character not the color of their skin.
Nonsense. Those are empty words that you and your party use as a shield. Actions talk, rhetoric walks. GOP'ers and right-wingers lie a lot, especially on issues and matters related to race. I prefer not to do that, thank you. You and your party judge people by their ideology and their race. Conservatives certainly do love to quote the only line they know from MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, though. And then they betray it and/or misrepresent it with their every action.

You should try it some time.
You and your ilk should try memorizing more than a single line from the greatest speech of the 20th century.

Ok, fine, it still shows very poor money management.

That's a matter of opinion. I suppose that you, when faced with similar circumstances, would allow your parents to be foreclosed upon and thrown out into the streets (along with the grandchild their were also raising). I can only surmise that you, when faced with circumstances would have told your parents to kick rocks when asked to financially support them, because you had your own bills to pay.

Conservatives are certainly cut from a different cloth than the rest of us, huh?

Edit: Here's a quote from her:"I did not understand that those magical slivers of plastic that I was getting in in college, a $100 purchase was going to cost me like $3,000 over the next seven years," Abrams said "And that if I didn’t pay the bill every month it was going on some report that was going to follow me even after I had a great job."

That's pretty embarrassing for her to admit not understanding how credit card debt works. This is a Yale graduate, btw.

Nonsense. Those were the choices a young woman made in order to make it through college and graduate school...without ANY financial assistance from her family...while trying to minimize her student loan debt...BEFORE she graduated from Yale Law.

It wouldn't be one of her all-time favorite books if she didn't agree with Rand's ideas in the book.
Says whom? You?

Silly comments. I choose to believe ABRAMS, herself, rather than some anonymous, misogynistic, alt-right know-nothing from a political message board. Abrams says that she loved the mythology in the novel. She says she "loves" that book, "but not for the reasons" some might wish/think. You seem to have difficulty differentiating YOUR PERSONAL OPINIONS....from FACTS.

No, you misconstrued that quote. She was saying that she was interested in mythology, not that Atlas Shrugged had anything to do with mythology.
You haven't read Atlas Shugged, obviously. Why am I NOT surprised? It's all just mindless arguing, with some of you.

But hey, feel free to believe that Abrams is an Ayn Rand devotee. That SHOULD make you a fan, rather than a critic, of hers, right? And yet, you hate her. Hmmm.....:bs

She even admits to failing to pay in 2015 and 2016 and going on a payment plan.

Once again....NO. Stop lying. As documented, by me and others, several time already...Abrams "admits" to paying those years on a schedule, rather than on those tax days. YOU, and others like you, are the ONLY people clinging to the LIE you keep repeating.

When you don't send in the money you owe, you have failed to pay your taxes!!!
WRONG. Your issue seems to be with the IRS and it's rules and procedures. Sorry, but I can't help you with that.

That is as plain and simple as the truth.
That's plain and simply...a clear representation of your ignorance of the issue. The IRS says she was never delinquent. Your opinions are not the facts.

Because you claim you only use facts -which turn out to be a lie- your words are worthless.
More projection.

Liars defend themselves by attacking those who call out and/or correct their lies. That's what you 're doing. Anyone reading this thread understands that.

Remember the fact you used to lie about Trump filing personal bankruptcy? Guess you didn't use a fact on that one did you. Guess posting a lie is easier for you.
This is your second big LIE. Already addressed and discredited. Move on

Fact - Abrams did not pay her taxes in 2015 (her words) and needed to set up a payment plan to the IRS to clear her debt.
Fact - Abrams did not pay her taxes in 2016 (her words) and needed to set up a payment plan to the IRS to clear her debt!

Fact: You're lying. Those are NOT her words. Those are YOUR words. NOWHERE will you find a quote of Abrams saying "I did not pay my taxes in 2015 and 2016". You won't post that because you can't post that. Her OWN WORDS discredit your wishful interpretations. Either you are having a difficult time comprehending that distinction, or you are just a very dishonest person. At this point, I'm considering a 3rd option: BOTH.

You can rant all you want, doesn't mean Abrams wasn't in debt to the IRS for not paying her taxes when they were due!
:lamo
I'll stick to simply eviscerating the empty-headed lies and hateful attacks of right-wing ideologues, like you. That's enough for me.

Face it, your attacks on Abrams have all been shallow (at best), and blatantly dishonest (at worst). No intelligent, rational American questions Abrams' intellectual capacity. No informed American argues that she "failed to pay her taxes", either. Sorry, but those arguments are now fully discredited. Clearly, your disdain for her has little to do with stated arguments, and much more to do with more "personal" issues that you'd rather not acknowledge.
