What Will Be The Future of The Republican Party When These States Turn Blue?

In the short term, the GOP will be a minority party but will adjust it's platform to a more centrist platform and become competitive again. As the wave of baby boomers fades away, control of the GOP will be fought between the far right and the more center right. I expect the far right will be too weakend living under DNC majority and will fail to win over the GOP.

The civil war going on right now in politics is in the democrat party between the moderates and the ultra insane left that is demanding such nonsense as medicare for all. As for the republicans, they have not been this united since Ronald Reagan. As for your wishing the baby boomers away, that would include the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden. Chuck Schumer, etc.

I'm glad you brought that up

(1) Trump Wasn't/ isn't a conservative

(2) Penn, Mich and Wis are UNION states

(3) Penn. , Mich and Wis are predominately white states

(4)Texas and Az have Huge and growing HISPANIC populations that isn't happening in the above states mentioned

Whatever you think Trump is or is not, he campaign on the tenets of the conservative republican party platform, made promises based on that and has been honoring those promises. That is why he has been so successful.

Whoever told you Texas would be turning blue in the near future lied to you.

The exodus from California may flip Arizona, but it is not a given. After all, people fleeing California are not well disposed toward something in the state.

Don't say never, but the state is moving from pink toward red.

That's one reason. High taxes is another. Why do you think so many Democrats are moving to Texas and Florida--no state income tax.

Nice turn of phrase, but many of the posters have no idea what boilerplate is. To me it sounds like a talking point page.

A guarantee is only worth as much as the person giving it.
Both Desantis and Scott ran great campaigns, bottom line. Nelson was tired I think of being a senator and Gillium was just corrupt all around.

Texas and AZ are going to be Blue states in the near future
Dont hold your breath till that happens. You will turn blue before those states do.

:lamo Andrew Gillum, "corrupt all around"????

...says whom? You? Hell, you can't even spell the man's name correctly. If you don't even know THAT much about him, you CLEARLY aren't qualified to assess his character. You're just another blind partisan spewing empty-headed FauxNews talking points.

The above remarks only further illustrate the effect that non-stop gaslighting has had on most Gop'ers and Trump acolytes.

In the reality based community, EVERYONE knows that Andrew Gillum (not "Gillium") is about as squeaky clean as they come in politics. He lost to a candidate who proudly traffics in white nationalism, among white nationalist groups, and relied heavily upon dog whistle politics throughout his campaign against Gillum. But I suppose that's what his supporters probably mean by "he ran a great campaign", huh?

Of course it is.

Desantis campaigned everywhere in Florida, Gillum called whites evil and stupid hicks who he cared less about. He said conservatives in the panhandle deserved to lose everything in the hurricane.

He also in the debates called Desantis a "racist" without no proof basically defaming a mans character. It was wrong and uncalled for.

This just proves my point if corruption is done by a democrat, it's A okay, but by a republican god help you. Until you people start holding your own accountable, then we will also turn a blind eye to anything our side does. What the hell makes the "D" so special Nothing. They aren't worth jack sh*t.

That's a very good job of ignoring/deflecting to what's going to happen

California will matter less and less as time goes on as the middle class is fleeing the state in large numbers do yo the exorbitant cost of living in that states, which is one of the reasons I left. At tome point the state will control less and less electoral college votes. While many of those leaving California aare going to Texas, the real reason the state has been trending less red is illegal immigration. That is now getting shut down to a trickle. Texas will not go blue any time soon.
the real reason the state has been trending less red is illegal immigration.

And..... legal immigration

will not go blue any time soon.

With Beto losing to Cruz by only 3 points, it's going to be sooner than later(wink)

I have been studying Immigration/demographics on my own for 15 years. You just might want to rethink that.

I didn't say they didn't vote majority Democrat. I said they are not wedded to the party. How they vote now is not necessarily how they will vote forever and the more Democrats champion illegal immigrants, the more they will alienate those who followed the law.

I said they are not wedded to the party.

I didn't say they didn't vote majority Democrat.

That almost sounds like a contradiction no?

How they vote now is not necessarily how they will vote forever and the more Democrats champion illegal immigrants, the more they will alienate those who followed the law.

Let me tell you a little story of the 2018 Dem Senate race in New Mexico. For years I heard how much of a Bad ass Hispanics were against illegal immigration in New Mexico(LOL)
Then, in 2018, they voted for a Dem who got a "D" rating from NumbersUSA(Against high number/illegal immigration ORG)

keep the faith

So, you are counting on continued illegal immigration that votes Democrat. Cheesy. You might want to rethink that.

We had almost 100,000 illegal immigrants per month for 30 years, because no one wanted to do anything about it. That has changed. Also, the assumption that they are natural Democrats is based on some dubious assumptions. Immigrants tend to have more conservative social and fiscal values than the national average.

True...though would specify that as legal immigrants. The illegals are primarily seeking entitlement handouts that US libruls promise them....such as free healthcare and welfare.

Fair point. Though, it isn't a battle so much as an exodus by never-Trump Republicans, much less disruptive. The GOP had enough disruption during the Tea Party days a decade to 15 years ago.

The Tea party is the biggest single reason the republicans took the House of Representatives as well as most state legislatures in 2010 and the Senate in 2014. That was excellent disruption.

And just how does that have anything whatsoever to do with how united or not united either party is?

Is this like the 95% approval rating in the republican party? LMAO..

And what was their primary platform position?
