Trump has lied 15 times per day since being elected?

At least that is what they want you to believe.

He may only average half a dozen actual lies and tweets per day, but his score is boosted when every "rally" is a mad jumble of lies interleaved with bizarre demented ramblings from start to finish. From crowd size to the amount of times women have to flush!

The Washington Post "Fact Checker" claims that President Trump has lied over 16000 times since taking office.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...e-or-misleading-claims-his-first-three-years/
That works out to about 15 lies per day. This myth has been repeated by many Liberal politicians and leftist news sources on numerous occasions.

I heard this repeated today by a carpetbagger wannabe politician running for a House seat, apparently against Trump, as he knew nothing about local politics. It seems to me that you should not be spreading lies when speaking about people lying.

Give this some logical thought. Perhaps Trump has up to fifteen conversations per day and tweets several times per day. The great majority of these conversations are not recorded and are not available to the public. Many of them are likely about mundane things such as children and golf. Many of them are simple facts generated by Government entities like, "225000 new jobs in January", "unemployment rate of 3.9%", etc. Many of his daily conversations are likely based on a "theme of the day" where the same information is repeated over and over. Trump has a tendency to bloviate, but it is stretch to call these lies. It defies logic to claim that he has told 15 lies per day since taking office. Yet Liberals tend to eat this stuff up. Now, I hear many of you (along with Pelosi) saying the SOTU speech was nothing but lies, so this brings up the average. Really? Were the unemployment and other economic statistics all lies? Did he lie about the Tuskegee Airman, the man murdered by the illegal immigrant protected by a sanctuary city, or the young lady receiving a much sought after scholarship to escape from the public school system? Perhaps he lied about Rush Limbaugh...or maybe you just don't agree with his assessment of Rush? Pelosi didn't offer any specifics, perhaps the readers of DP can.

Please let me know how you might justify your belief that Trump lies 15 times per day. If the Washington Post or my "carpetbagger wannabe politician" cannot prove this without a shadow of a doubt, then they are just lying.
Democrats lie constantly lie about Trump. They apparently cannot control themselves due to the almost supernatural strength of their deluded allegiance to the ungodly democrat party.

From the Post:

"By just about any important measure, the economy today is not doing as well as it did under Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson or Bill Clinton — or Ulysses S. Grant"

I'm sure the "fact checking" Washington Post looked at the "important measures" by which we judge an economy, and came up with the poverty rate, unemployment rate, and median income for all those former presidents. We don't need to look up those "important measures" - The Post has already done that for us.

Where would we be without the "facts" coming from the Washington Post? I'm so thankful for a truth-telling press.

Yep. That's why he will win in a landslide in November.

I see. Good to hear someone finally admit that he won because he lies so much, and so many people keep believing him.

Hey, have you signed up for Trump U yet? I hear it's better than Harvard!:lamo

Maybe you should look them up rather than fall for the interpretation from the Post.

"Gallup records double-digit increases in public satisfaction with the nation's economy, security from terrorism, military strength and the state of race relations."

Many Americans either gained or regained economic optimism last week, as Gallup's U.S. Economic Confidence Index soared seven points to hit +16. This marks the highest weekly average in Gallup's nine-year trend. The index has recovered the ground it lost over the week of Jan. 30-Feb. 5, when it fell from the previous record high of +14 to +8 and languished at that lower level for the next three weeks.

U.S. Economic Confidence Index at Record High of +16

This is what your "fact check" quoted:

" the president twisted the facts when he said his administration “launched the great American comeback” ending “years of economic decay.”"

In other words the Post "twisted the facts" to trick you. They didn't even call it a lie. But, as usual, liberals and the Post look for the worst possible interpretation so that it can be added to the list of "lies." The Post can cherry pick all the facts that they would like. And if they chose the ones you list above and they did not meet their criteria to call it "twisting the facts" or a "lie", they would simply find different criteria. I am quite sure President Trump didn't crunch all of the numbers available (just as the Post didn't). Being a populist, it is quite possible he was referring to something comparable to the Gallup Poll comment bolded above. In that case there is absolutely nothing inconsistent with Trumps statement regarding the economy.

He is, nonetheless, once again successful in getting liberals to fall for the MacGuffin distraction: "His wild persona is a device that baits enemies and clears space for his agenda." (From Alfred Hitchcock as related by the Wall Street Journal) In other words you are pondering 16,000 "lies" while he is nominating SC and district court judges, getting rid of hundreds of Obama's regulations, restructuring trade deals, curing world hunger and saving us from the corona virus.

I see you "liked" my post. I can only assume that I missed your sarcasm in the above quote. In the voice of Yoda..."Your sarcasm is deep..." You managed to correctly substitute "liberals" in place of "you" as appropriate from my response. Sorry about the confusion. It should have been obvious to me from the quotes around fact checking and facts.

No worries. Indeed, my post was sarcastic: poverty rates, unemployment rate and median income weren't considered when those other presidents were declared to have better economies than Trump.

Left wing fact-checkers are notoriously biased and unreliable, so the 15 number is meaningless.

Trump’s pathological lying is well documented. It’s up to you to prove otherwise.

What positively ridiculous explanation for Trump's 16,200 lies as of Jan. 20.

Here are some of Trump's many lies on Feb. 4. FactChecking the State of the Union - FactCheck.org

Lets look at some of these supposed lies.

1. He said he brought about low unemployment by reversing “years of economic decay” and “failed economic policies,” when in fact over 1 million more jobs were added in the 35 months before he took office than in the first 35 months since.

And even with those added jobs before Trump, they weren't even close to the record unemployment we have now. False statement.

2. Trump boasted that the “unemployment rate for women reached the lowest level in almost 70 years.” That’s true, but it had been trending down for several years before he took office.

They state its true then call it a lie? False statement

3. The president wrongly said, “After decades of flat and falling incomes, wages are rising fast.” They’ve gone up under Trump, but also have risen under the last several presidents.

He was specifically talking about medium income wages. This is out of context and a false statement

4. Trump claimed that people’s 401(k)s and pensions have increased “60, 70, 80, 90, and 100% and even more.” Some may have, but that’s far higher than the average.

So some may have buts it still a lie? False statement

These are now the new norms that qualify as lies? And then everytime its tweeted, retweeted, or told on the news its another lie and they combine these to come up with about 500 lies all over the same statement?

This is the level you have to go to make Trump a liar? Pretty pathetic.

Meanwhile, the meme of "thousands of lies" has been proven a misrepresentation...
Really? Prove your assertion with links to reputable sources. I’ll bet that you can’t.

much like they did with many of his campaign comments
Do you have verifiable examples of campaign comments falsely attributed to Trump? Please post a few (w/link).

Like that "white supremacists are very fine people" false story that many people STILL believe to this day.

Despite the video evidence he never said any such thing. :coffeepap:
On the day of the riot, when the young woman was run over and killed by one of the white nationalists, there were only two groups/sides involved; white nationalists and those protesting the white nationalists. That is the day that Trump referred to when he made his infamous “very fine people on both sides” comment.

Go on, check the video and look for pictures taken on 8/12/17. See if you can find any pictures of the small, peaceful group of protesters who were only there to protest the possible removal of Confederate statues.

WaPo documents every single statement that they classify as a false or misleading claim.

They actually provide explanations for every single time they classify a claim as "false or misleading."

Dude. Give this some logical thought. He's making public speeches several times a week. A single speech can contain 20, 40, 70, 100 or more exaggerations, mistruths, cherry-picked claims, or outright lies.

Again, every claim is listed in the database.

Many of them are likely about mundane things such as children and golf.
Incorrect.

Many of them are simple facts generated by Government entities like, "225000 new jobs in January", "unemployment rate of 3.9%", etc.
Quite a few fall into that category. And yes, that counts. The thing is: He always gets it wrong or cherry-picks or lies to his advantage. He isn't getting the numbers wrong in a way that goes against his position, he is always putting his thumb on his side of the scale.

Plus, he's the POTUS. There is no question that he and his speechwriters have access to the correct information, especially when they're repeating the same information over and over.

Many of his daily conversations are likely based on a "theme of the day" where the same information is repeated over and over.
Nope, that's not it. They will count the same lie told on different days. He doesn't usually make multiple speeches in the same day.

I hear many of you (along with Pelosi) saying the SOTU speech was nothing but lies, so this brings up the average. Really?
Really.

For example, on January 9th, Trump made 116 misstatements or lies, all during a rally that night. The next day, only 5 times. So yes, a rally or speech often results in huge numbers of misstatements or lies.

Were the unemployment and other economic statistics all lies?
Some were, some weren't. When he gets something right, that isn't counted.

Perhaps he lied about Rush Limbaugh...
Nope, matters of opinion like that aren't counted.

...cannot prove this without a shadow of a doubt, then they are just lying.
What is it that you are able to prove beyond a "shadow of a doubt"?

Anything at all?

You seem to be unaware that the part time president has many days where he tweets over a hundred times. On top of that you are forgetting that in his rallies he can spew a lie every 10 seconds if he gets on a roll.

If you feel that the number is unfair go look at the last 10 and try to find how many you determine aren't actually lies/falsehoods. I'm all ears. But in my book, even if you found some way to show that half aren't actually lies/falsehoods, we are still so far beyond what should be acceptable that it doesn't change my mind a bit.
