So Trumpsters caught red-handed jamming phones during Iowa caucuses. Yeah, repubs did that in 2002, and some people went to jail, and RNC spent $5 million defending the guy. Brilliant.

Trump supporters flooded Iowa hotline, increasing delays | TheHill

A hotline that was used by Iowa precinct chairs to report Democratic caucus results to the state party was reportedly flooded with calls on Monday from supporters of President Trump after the number was posted online, contributed to the delays in the vote tallying process.

"I was sickened, but not surprised, to hear that Republicans jammed Iowa Democratic Party phone lines Monday night in an effort to disrupt counting and reporting caucus results," she said. "We experienced Republican efforts to disrupt our election efforts in New Hampshire in 2002. After a thorough investigation by local, state, and federal officials, and the dogged efforts of our legal team, two Republican operatives went to prison, and the state GOP paid New Hampshire Democrats $125,000 in damages."

I Went to Prison for Jamming Phones for the RNC. Now the RNC Is Boasting About Doing It Again.

I’d advise the RNC to again set aside $5 million for its legal defense—the same amount it spent in 2002 defending its own in a phone-jamming case.

Naturally, Barr will just look the other way.

The Democrats still don't understand that they are up against a party that is willing to do ANYTHING to win.

If the DNC had brains they'd lawyer up now, because you can count on more dirty cheating like this from Republicans.

Wow. I honestly did not know about the 2002 instance; if the RNC is going to conduct this kind of harassment toward Democratic primaries on a large-scale basis like this, while AG Bob Barr has just announced that there are to be "no investigations into candidates running for office without his express approval" that means that the FBI, CIA and other agencies charged with investigation of complaints about fraud, harassment, etc., simply will never be allowed to investigate anything that the RNC itself is charged with... at all!

And apparently, the RNC is well aware of that. This has taken election interference by our own damned government to unprecedented heights. I'm... speechless.

Maybe the DNC can file a lawsuit. I wonder where are they going to get the funds from? The DNC is nearly bankrupt.

Works on the basis that you can do anything, then deal with the consequences later. The fines are often worth it, the amount they'd have to spend on advertising would be more for the same effect.

From the OP's article:

A hotline that was used by Iowa precinct chairs to report Democratic caucus results to the state party was reportedly flooded with calls on Monday from supporters of President Trump after the number was posted online, contributed to the delays in the vote tallying process.

"On Caucus Day, the Iowa Democratic Party experienced an unusually high volume of inbound phone calls to its caucus hotline, including supporters of President Trump," Mandy McClure, communications director for the party, told the Des Moines Register. "The unexplained, and at times hostile, calls contributed to the delay in the Iowa Democratic Party’s collection of results, but in no way affected the integrity of information gathered or the accuracy of data sets reported.”

According to the article, the main issue was and remains the app malfunction. Not Trump supporters/internet trolls. I have no doubt that they added to the chaos, but they appear to be midges set alongside the locust swarm.

We got Bloomberg on our side, he's worth 50 billion big ones.

From what's being reported, they were just a drop in the bucket compared to how bad the App screwed things up.

...Wait, this is the whole Russian bot argument all over again... for ****s sake

The phones were the back up plan. A few who spoke about it said they waited 2 hours on hold trying to get through.

Now we know why.

Scumbag republicans are at it, AGAIN.

We are going to shine the sunlight on repubs, and, you know the saying, sunlight disinfects.

Take a minute to calm down and read the article, it was a bunch of 4chan trolls.

LOL. Think about it. A lifetime Republican saving the DNC.

Uh, no, not true.

Democratic (before 2001, 2018–present)
Independent (2007–2018)
Republican (2001–2007)

Rachel did a good segment on this, as usual.

Take a minute to calm down and read the second article, which was written by a guy who was hired by the RNC to do the exact same thing in 2002, went to jail for it, and the RNC spent millions defending itself from its own phone-jamming case.

Yep, I saw that. And if it is proven that the 4chan trolls were in fact RNC operatives I will apologize and admit I am wrong. However, this is the equivalent of blaming Antifa's antics on the DNC until you can prove that was indeed the case.

 That is the "Look, Squirrel!" deflection. :2wave:

No, that is the "waiting for evidence to prove an allegation"

Let me know when you can link the 4chan posters to the RNC.

I wonder...

Did that phone jamming continue on Tuesday? Wednesday? Thursday?

I mean, that's how long it took to get all the precinct's reports in and manip.....I mean... counted.

Sure...some of the precinct officials got tired of waiting on hold...gave up...went to bed...Monday night. But why did it take THREE MORE DAYS for all the precincts to report in? Was it phone jamming? Or something else?

We know the main reason but couldn't the Ukraine have also been behind it?

Some sent the results by snail mail because of the jamming..

bloomberg was a RINO he was never really a republican. just look at the nonsense he passed in NY or
tried to pass in NY.

As someone else pointed out it is called evidence to support the accusation.
you people like to jump in head first and say the accusation is true before
there is evidence to support it.

this is neither reasoned or logical to do.
makes for great sensationalism though.

by the latest report it sounds as if it is nothing more than a 4chan troll fest.
and very little to do with actual trump supporters as the DNC tried to claim and blame
their utter failure on. which is typical. never take responsibility always blame someone else
for your failures.

'''Clog the lines''': Internet trolls deliberately disrupted the Iowa caucuses hotline for reporting results

"They have to call in the results now. Very long hold times being reported. Phone line being clogged," one user posted at about 11 p.m. ET on Monday, three hours after the caucuses began.
"Uh oh how unfortunate it would be for a bunch of mischief makers to start clogging the lines," responded another anonymous user, sarcastically.
Some users chimed in, posting alleged wait times on hold, imploring others to “clog the lines [and] make the call lads.”

Naturally, Barr will just look the other way.

"Precinct chairs across Iowa were forced to attempt calling in their results after an app [by Shadow Inc.] that was to be used by the party to tally votes malfunctioned."
Republicans don't run Shadow Inc.
Shadow Inc. was launched early last year by liberal-leaning nonprofit ACRONYM, which specializes in providing digital services for Democratic campaigns and committees, as part of its efforts to build what it called a "smarter" technological infrastructure for Democratic campaigns and committees.

At the time of Shadow's launch, ACRONYM's CEO Tara McGowan, who was previously a digital producer for Barack Obama's 2012 campaign, wrote on Twitter that Shadow’s capabilities included syncing data between a volunteer management platform and an SMS tool -- saving campaign organizers from manual data entry and reducing the risk for mistakes.

Shadow's CEO is Gerard Niemira, who was ACRONYM's chief operating officer prior to joining Shadow. He was also previously a Hillary Clinton campaign aide during the 2016 presidential election, according to his Linkedin profile.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of Democratics? The Shadow knows!,"

It is called an utter cluster produced by the DNC.
as usual instead of taking responsibility for their disaster
they want to blame someone else.
