Emboldened by his victory and determined to strike back, Trump fired Gordon D. Sondland, the ambassador to the European Union hours after firing Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, a decorated Iraq war veteran who was a Ukraine expert on the National Security Council and spoke the language. Vindman will sorely missed on the NSC.
Sondland and Vindman join Marie L. Yovanovitch, the fired ambassador to Ukraine, William B. Taylor Jr., who replaced her and was "essentially brought back early," Jennifer Williams, a career official detailed to Pence’s office and quietly left, Fiona Hill, the Europe policy chief at the National Security Council, Tim Morrison .who replaced her, quitting on October 31, Kurt D. Volker, the special envoy for Ukraine, who resigned days before testifying, and last but not least Yevgeny Vindman who had nothing to do with the impeachment proceedings but he was Alexander's twin brother.
They join Flynn, Spicer, Sanders, Priebus, Bannon, Hicks, Shah, Porter, Cohn, Short, McGahn, Coats, Mattis, Perry, Acosta, Tillerson, McMasters, Bolton, Sessions, Zinke, Nielsen, Kelly, Price, Shulkin, and those are just the high profile officials who have left Trump. Trump has a turnover rate of 78 percent of the top echelon. There are countless others who were fired or quit.
The Pentagon's top policy official who warned against withholding military aid to Ukraine last year resigned on Wednesday at the request of President Donald Trump, according to his resignation letter.
John Rood, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy at the Pentagon, is the latest senior national security official involved in the Ukraine controversy to be forced out following Trump's acquittal in the Senate impeachment trial.
In an in your face gesture to the American people, Trump, who fashions himself as the chief law enforcement officer in the land, pardoned eleven felons on Tuesday.
Trump, according to the Republican Senate, can do anything he wants. Who is going to stop him? With the blessings of the Senate, Trump has even usurped the power of the purse from Congress. According to a recent vote, Trump Republicans have given Trump the power to wage war. Good Lord, heaven help us.
Thank you, Senators.
The American people will have their final say on this matter in November, and most of those Republican Senators will be unemployed this time next year.
Trump's fans are largely staying away from this thread. In a way, I don't blame them. What can they say?
