Wasn't anything to "get away with". Why would he be "free to do anything"? Impeachment is not a "one and done" scenario. The only thing this prevents is bull****, halfcocked, ultrapartisan, butthurt, revenge-stoked new impeachment attempts. He's still subject to lawful impeachments, not uttering a few innocuous words on a phone call.
According to the rules in the Constitution, Trump wasn't impeached.
By every objective measure, so far Trump has been the best modern-day President. But what really drives Leftist like you insane is that by every objective measure, Obama was the worst modern-day President, and with the two Presidents so close in time to each other it’s easy for everyone to compare them.
Really, How many witnesses testified in Clinton's impeachment?

Even many of the Gopers have said that trump did what the House said, but they are voting to acquit him for varied reasons. The major one seems to be although he did something wrong, it was not "bad"enough to warrant him being forced out of office. So once again like most of his life, trump seems to have done it, but gotten away with it. People have said to me tht he will always be known as one of the president's that were impeached, but I look at Clinton and say, so what. So what now? Will the GOP try and control his actions or just let him do as he wants? Everyone knows that impeachment will not control his actions in any way and now he knows he is free to do anything and he will get away with again..
Yankee is correct that Trump can't be convicted of abusing his power of office. Now the only thing he can be convicted of is evading taxes in New York.

Lies, likes, and more lies. Every Republican voting against impeachment in the House of Representatives (and what they said during the hearings) should tell you something: all they cared about was keeping their man in office. Democrats OTOH asked bipartisan questions and never displayed a liberal bias in their word choices. If you watched the hearings, it is obvious only Republicans were biased.
Forever acquitted. :rock
He didn't do anything to "get away with".
Three including the president.
NEXT!
Senate is back to workAcquitted today, and he'll still be acquitted tomorrow. And the next.
Maybe congressional leftists will actually start working for the country, instead of their party, after this miserable defeat? Time will tell.

Negative.

It is obvious only Republicans were working for their party. I paid close attention to the story and NOT ONCE did Republicans prove all of the evidence was lies, while Democrats proved all evidence was correct.
This impeachment debacle was nothing more than political revenge because Trump won the election.
Prove me wrong. You can't.
Over three days, February 1–3, House managers took videotaped closed-door depositions from Monica Lewinsky, Clinton's friend Vernon Jordan, and White House aide Sidney Blumenthal. On February 4, however, the Senate voted 70–30 that excerpting these videotapes would suffice as testimony, rather than calling live witnesses to appear at trial.

Sure it was. Trump is a pure as the white snow. :lamo
And they still did it while being stonewalled by the White House.
And don't forget what a farce a trial without witnesses is a farce.
.......
Thanks for proving my point Depositions are witnesses. You didn't know that?
