If you want to play semantics and limit it to the SOTU that's one thing, but let's be honest and talk about the disrespect Obama got from the right from the GOP and the public who are conservatives. The birther crap, being obstructionist to the point of shutting down government and hurting millions, the crowds hanging him in effigy, etc.

But then you cry foul when it happens to Trump? Really?

You had the votes at one point to have a real chance to impeach and remove Obama from office at one point and enough votes to impeachment at other times. Yet, you couldn't. How many actual scandals did Obama cause compared to Trump? How often did Obama have a temper tantrum and aired it on Twitter? How many lies compared to Trump? How many in Obama's administration came under investigation? Jailed as a result?

Look, the lack of decourm is a concern, I'll grant you that. But keep it honest, ok? Trump is a POS. YOu may hate Obama for legitimate political reasons or differences in ideology or whatever...but he wasn't a POS like our current president is. And that's part of the problem here.

You have every right to dislike any president you want but the total disrespect for the office of the President of the United States is reflected in disrespecting those who voted for him. This is how you gander votes or get people to listen to your pleas to replace him with someone you want in office.

I mean, Pelosi started a fake impeachment to get rid of him.. And he is supposed to shake her hand? Sorry, but I don't even have a problem w/ her tearing up the speech because...

I used to wish that something like that would be done by an R when O was president...

all this handshaking btwn the different party members (a thing of the past? some of us hope)... made it look like they were all together in cahoots which of course made it look like they were all in cahoots against We the People who pay their salaries...

I mean, you believe passionately and you vote accordingly, and then the one you vote for is pals with the one you voted against? NO!!!!!!!!!!!

I've lost track of how many times I've said this in the past hour, but

If you thought it was disrespectful to watch Nancy Pelosi to tear up that speech but it wasn't disrespectful to see a Presidential candidate mock a disabled reporter you have no moral compass.

To be honest with I dont care any more. Lets face facts shall we. There is no respect from either side anymore. The masks of civility were removed the day Trump was elected. Lets be frank with each other, this all about raw unadulterated power and who can TAKE it and then IMPOSE it. Thats the reality of the situation. I want to win, and as of now that is by whatever means are required. Not because I want power but to keep it out of your hands. Your ilk has no business with it, its too dangerous in your hands in it current form and potency. If I could make it that no one could wield power I would, but I cant. So I am going to take it and keep it from you if I can, and try to reverse any damage you do. I will use anyone and do anything to achieve that goal fair or not. All means are justified at this point, till the power has been diluted and disbursed sufficiently enough it is difficult to affect many people or their lives without their express consent. We are playing for all the marbles at this point, defeat costs too much to not use any and all means to win regardless their ethics. Your side came to this conclusion long ago. My side is just coming around. Thats why the fight is heating up. What we have seen, pales to what we will. Its going to get ugly. Real ugly. Too much is at stake not to.

Every team, be it sports, at the office, or in gov't, will take on the characteristics of it's leader.

Respect is earned, not given.
This one disrespected the office by using pvt citizens to go after a potential future candidate by using military funds already approved to bribe a gov't to make up dirt.

You want respect? Show respect.
