Anyway the GOP is walking a tight rope here because if Trump does something that truly harms the country and/or the economy the GOP will be held 110% the blame and no excuses will work, they had their chance to get rid of this stain called Trump, but they turned tail and ran.

I've said for a long time the Republican Party would help themselves if they got rid of trump. Now it's the public's turn to get rid of them all in November. One side or the other will lose big. Republicans will use every cheat they can even more than they already do.

I think Democrats made one key mistake, which was allowing the idea to grow that the case wasn't strong enough unless there more witnesses. They needed to be more clear that the case was totally proven, and that the extra witnesses were ONLY because the case should be more complete, but were NOT needed to convict. The vote not to have more witnesses allows this 'case was weak' lie.

NEVER in our history has ANY court allowed you to come to court with no witnesses that can testify and allow you to bring in witnesses that have not been deposed or discovered by the defense. EVER

You don't get to claim crimes against a defendant, then come to court and start calling new witnesses. The only time new witnesses have been allowed is as rebuttal to other witness testimony or experts in rebuttal.

I have no idea how the left ever got this idea that the Senate is supposed to be the investigation body of a trial. Only in the Liberal brain.

We just learned today that trumps head lawyer is a fact witness!!!

There is a time issue, if one believes the president has gone roque and intends to cheat to win reelection.

So waiting what, a year or two, for every single witness and document to make its way all the way to the SC is totally counterproductive.

Now there is the possiblility that more and more evidence will make it into the public and that public will turn on trump and his enablers in November.

It's a strategy to deal with a senate that is completely in the bag for trump.

And it could work.

Its just more of the same.

Make a criminal claim
Refuse to hold a house vote for an impeachment inquiry and properly delegate proper authority to a committee via a vote
Having the House leader self declaring and impeachment inquiry
Hold a one sided hearing, refusing opposing testimony, refusing Republicans their minority day, refusing the defendant their proper representation
Having hearsay witnesses testifying like they have actual evidence
Then asking the house to vote and only get a partisan vote
Getting the articles without a single criminal claim to convict on
Holding the articles for a month trying to renegotiate the terms of the Senate
With a total of 78 day turn around time

Then asking the Senate to help investigate your own claims

Then when this blew up in their faces it was all because the GOP Senators are all colluding with Trump?

This is what you think you are going to sell the voters?

You would think Democrats would have learned after the Mueller debacle and trying to rail road Kavanaugh as an alcoholic high school serial rapist.

Best of luck in this new venture. Just for s**ts and giggles, what will the excuse be when Trump wins the 2020 election with 400+ electoral votes.

I can't wait to here this one.

Trump will win easily. The Dems already know this. It's why they were in a panic to go for impeachment. It was their only hope.
