I believe McConnell had the votes all along

I think that McConnell had to votes to end the idea of having a real trial with witnesses the whole time. It was a game he was playing to get the Dems wasting their time trying to talk GOP Senators into voting for witnesses. With the fear of having their heads on a pike and having their money from the GOP given to their primary opponent, the whole bunch of GOP Senators showed they had no back bones. Whether you are a Trumpster, a Dem or just neutral, it would have been good to have the whole picture shown to the American people, and that can only be done with witnesses, including those that the GOP might want. And now we will have an imperial president who knows he can do as he wants and no one can do anything to stop him. The GOP often called Obama a dictator, what will they call this president after he escapes conviction?

What we see happening over and over again is a number of allegedly reasonable Republican senators throwing up red flags for a few days to show their impartiality and then folding when the voting time comes. Susan Collins is the poster child for this.

Mcconnell also needed to stretch it out for a few days to try and make it look like a legitimate impeachment trial without calling for any witnesses or documents.

The precedent set with this acquittal is so exceedingly dangerous. This will not be the same. The country will be forever changed.

Truly, this is the most despicable and disgusting display. Not even worth a try.

I hope you do enjoy your authoritarian little kleptocracy. I so hope you enjoy it.

When it is turned on you, I will not show you quarter, either.

The time for investigation is not during the trial. The House had their chance and wound up losing. They want the Senate to now overturn executive privilege.

That being said, if they capitulate, we want Schiff, his staff, Vindman, the whistle blower, and the Biden crime family.
When the debate is lost, the loser resorts to slander.

You have to wonder where this arrogance is going to be when the shoe is on the other foot, as it likely will be by this time next year. This farce of a trial only makes that more likely.

The Trump haters are already whining and crying...and we haven't even had a vote yet.

    It's sad, is it not?

    Truly sad.

This is simply the complete and utter ripping of the nation, right in half. Right in half. We were divided - if this GOP Senate allows no witnesses, the entire thing goes right in two.

To answer your question: We will refer to Trump as exonerated.
