Most of us choose to believe that the business of our government is conducted...oh, maybe in the White House or in the chambers of Congress. But it's clear where the dirty side of our government is conducting business, it's in Trump's own hotel.
David Fahrenthold is a Washington Post reporter that covers President Trump's businesses and conflicts of interest. "If you don't want it printed, don't let it happen." He wrote an article about the Trump International Hotel.
Trump hotel's mix of GOP insiders and hangers-on helped give rise to impeachment episodes
These are excerpts from his article:
The Trump International Hotel in Washington is a breeding ground for wealthy donors, congressmen and anyone else who can afford the price of a drink at their bar. Basically it's the entire republican party, both the leaders and elected officials, GOP insiders and hangers-ons who want to have influence. They're all squeezed into the lobby of this one hotel. So people like Mike Pence and other people in Congress, they go there to hold fundraisers and they kind of just walk through the lobby. For the price of a drink, you can hang out at the bar and get the ear of a US Senator.
Paraphrasing the article now, all these people like Lev Parnas, Fruman and Robert Hyde the weird guy from Connecticut (who is currently being sued by a Trump supporter in Europe), they all come together and link up with the president's legal team just because they're all drinking in the same place. In addition to having lavish fund raising dinner parties, Trump is essentially also being paid as the caterer for these events since he never divested from his business in the Trump International Hotel.
