Iowa Poll

Please say it's so. I was a Bernie Baby in '16, but dismissed him this time around - believing his ship had set sail. But now, now that I see possibilities, I'm back in his corner.

I swear, with this interesting of a field and their individual rises and falls, I think I'm now on my third iteration of choosing. Maybe Bernie was my guy, after all? I just ignored him? But damn, Buttigieg looks really good too. But it's pretty unlikely these two will ever split a ticket.

There are several polls showing Sanders pulling ahead. This has got to have the Democrat elites sweating profusely.

Bernie will be glad to know that he can still give someone an erection.

If moderate Democrats stopped clutching their pearls long enough to think, they might realize the incredible potential in a Sanders candidacy that melds social liberalism and economic populism.

Another Iowa Poll just released. Bernie ahead by 7 points.

Sanders tops another poll just before the Iowa caucus
Bernie Sanders’s surge in momentum can be clearly seen in his 7-point lead in a January New York Times/Siena College poll.

And latest polling in New Hampshire has Bernie ahead by 9 points.

I wonder if the only reason Bernie is even making an effort is to increase the number of zeros on the check he's going to demand from the DNC when he drops out of the race.

Looks like Biden is ahead at almost 2 to 1. Bernie is less that 1 to 1 odds.

Or just shows how stupid our American citizenry is

Or if Democrat radicals would stop and think that this country will become even more socialistic with Bernie

while i like Sanders, i don't understand why a couple states have so much influence on the final outcome while others have very little. our primary system is ridiculous.

Really? Who cares about Iowa and New Hampshire? Wait until the contest moves to the Southern states and Super Tuesday, and we'll see if the Bernie cultists will remain as happy.

It absolutely amazes me that we continue with this antiquated primary schedule. It really has nothing to do with modern communications and information distribution which could easily accomodate a same day primary vote for the entire country and has more to do with the long a tedious process to generate more money.

We as a society are wasting resources with this antiquated system. The environmental impact of this is horrendous.

Us insiders know will will win Iowa and it will not be Bernie Sanders.

By insiders you means folks living under a bridge I suppose.

There have been several reports that Bernie isn't just surging in Iowa and NH, but nationally. Just last week Suffolk University/Reno Gazette poll had Bernie pulling within 1 point of Biden.
Nevada poll: Joe Biden leads Bernie Sanders, other Democrat candidates

And Michigan absentee voting has already started. Bernie won Michigan last time around. Haven't seen any current polling but at the end of 2019 polls showed Sanders had the support of 73% of the young vote.

I thought at one time perhaps, if we could schedule it nationally, which we cannot because elections are done by the states, we should divide the primaries by perhaps 10 (for ten consecutive Tuesday votes) and have 5 states per Tuesday and order them from smallest electoral and delegate states to the largest being last. That way smaller states aren't swamped in the later rounds by the bigger states and can get some candidate attention.

I thought we were on a break. I guess you just can't quit me.

Oh, did I hurt your sensitive feelings by responding to one of your posts (in a thread YOU started, of all places)? You know, if you get scared when people reply to you, maybe a message board is not for you, or at least, maybe you shouldn't start threads. Go to some safe space.

I too thought he was washed up and out to pasture, especially after needing that stent placed.
But just like my sister in law, the stent corrected a multitude of problems and now he's even more energetic than before.
And I've met the guy, (2015) he is so hyper he can tire you out just watching him.

First, your link is not a national poll. I posted one just yesterday, released Wednesday, showing Biden with 30% (4% up from the same pollster's last one) versus Sanders with 23% (2% up).

Second, again, these small and insignificant early states are not what will decide the race.

Oh, Sanders has young supporters? Boy, that's so new to me! Thank you for letting me know! [insert sarcasm here]

Yeah, the unreliable young express support for Bernie then they don't show up to vote for him on election day, like his beating in 2016 by millions of popular votes inflicted on him by one of the most unpopular candidates ever, has extensively proved, despite his youth-filled rallies.

If you haven't noticed, young prospective voters are extremely unreliable. Their rates of actually showing up to vote are dismal. I guess they love rallies where there is music, flirting opportunities, pot smoking... but on election day they prefer to stay in their mother's basement smoking more pot and playing videogames.
