Do You Respect President Trump?

There's not a lot of people who could decide to run for president and pull it off.

So yes, I respect him.

Is he a politician or a lawyer? No he's not, and that's what the job requires, someone who is a politician or a lawyer.

Specifically I'm wondering if you respect him as a person.

And then as a President.

What has he done to earn your respect, good or bad?

What do you think?

Three years after taking the oath of office, President Trump has made more than 16,200 false or misleading claims — a milestone that would have been unthinkable when we first created the Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement he has uttered. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...e-or-misleading-claims-his-first-three-years/

We can't trust a thing he says. Think of it, he is our President and we cannot trust him. He has lied too much.

Not as a president nor as a person. Everything I basically know about trump I learned from the day I watched him come down that escalator and he owned casinos. That was about all I knew of trump.

So basically my current opinion of trump is based on what I see him do and say. This is something like my tenth or eleventh presidential vote. I have never seen a more corrupt, inept, spiteful pathological liar ever to sit in the white house in my lifetime. Way, way worse than nixon.

Trump is the most powerful man on the planet right now.He deserves respect. He's right there with the Pope and God.I worship him.

I respect Trump because he takes so much abuse and doesn't care. The worse they treat him, the more I respect him. I think I can speak for many other independents who probably feel the same way.

Hell no on either account, but he still isn't Hillary so that makes him worthy of the office plus it is entertaining as hell to watch democrats and never trumpers be irrational at mental illness levels when it comes to him. I just hope he tweets Nancy a pix of his arse when both counts of the impeachment go down in flames in the Senate. It will be troll gold.

Is his camera capable of capturing his entire ass?

Sounds dubious to me.

NASA has satellites. I am sure they can work something out since they have no rocketships to launch as of late.

I still respect Bill Clinton as a president even though his personal character sucks.
I do respect Trump the president though his personal character leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Always has and always will.
Do respect the way he governs and has brought about a robust economy. For that reason alone, he deserves my vote 2020.
That all said, he's still better than Hillary and better than any leftist running against him for reelection.
If the economy ain't broke, why fix it?

That's what you relate to? Sad.

So you respect Obama?

'The job requires someone who is a politician or a lawyer'? Err, because the political elite have so successfully lead the country for the last decades?

Not really. The failed political elite can't have Trump succeed because it would show how badly their leadership has failed. The political elite and their failed leadership have failed the nation, and that's one of the reasons Trump was elected.

So, no, I don't think the job requires politician or a lawyer.

Can't argue with what you said, the way you put it. Makes sense.

It used to be that way but Trump seems to have changed the parameters.

I think more so that the electorate changed the parameters (being fed up with the political elite class and their failed leadership of the last decades), and Trump just 'smelled' it at the same time when all the GOP candidates and the Democrat party missed it.

Given the reaction from the establishment elite political class and their supporters, we may not see such an outsider be elected to the presidency again, condemned to live under the elitist political class and their continued failing leadership for the longer term.

Thanks, hermit.

The best of 2020 to you and yours.

I don't respect him. His circumstances are a lucky break for the right. He would sell out to the Democrats at the drop of a hat. Thankfully, the Democrats have not given him that opportunity. I look forward to a post-Trump GOP. Irrespective of the outcome of the election, that opportunity will begin to present itself next year.

Specifically I'm wondering if you respect him as a person.

I don't think he has to "earn" my respect. I respect people because of the kind of person I am. Not the kind of person they are. I respect President Trump as president because to me it is important to respect those who have ultimate power and responsibility over us.

I don't respect him as a person because I cannot in good conscience respect someone whose apparent personal morals and values are completely alien and utterly repulsive to me.

Trump is easy to respect as President because he is doing a good job. As a person it's much harder. He has a lot of very annoying characteristics and mannerisms.

That's the thing. Those have never been annoying to me and yet they call me a Trump hater and that I have TDS. Go figure.

Neither! Go ask 100 tri-staters if they respect DonDon. My guess, you might get 1 out of a 100, MAYBE!

SO you see trump as better than Hillary, WHY? And are you happy that he controls our senate so thoroughly that they will let him off no matter what he has done? I guess you are one of those who think "better than a Dem" no matter who is elected. Pitiful!!

That's the thing. Those have never been annoying to me and yet they call me a Trump hater and that I have TDS. Go figure.
Of course you are. You completely deny that he's a good President, which any non-hater can see clearly. That's why one of the forms is Trump Denial Syndrome.

Uh what? You make a perfect case of being a cultist.

Perhaps Trix poster would see this as an example.

SO you see trump as better than Hillary,

Because Hillary was power hungry (still is). She lusted after the presidency the same way her husband lusted after chubby interns.

Donald Trump didn't even want to be president and it showed. He only ran in order to drum up attention for his various commercial and entertainment ventures

I don't tend to respect people who are morally bankrupt, and I think history will brand Trump as the worst president in US history. In ten years I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone who will admit they supported this monster.

this sort of hyperbole is a major reason why I hope Trump is reelected. I think he is a guy who shoots from the hip, when he ought to take more time to aim and I sometimes think that being president is more important to him than being consistent. That being said, he annoys those with politics I detest, so I will vote for him again
