Specifically I'm wondering if you respect him as a person.

And then as a President.

What has he done to earn your respect, good or bad?

There is a specific forum for humorous or satiric threads, if you look further down...

In a word? Yes.

Do I agree with everything he says or does? No.

The fact that I don't always agree with someone's actions does not mean they lose my respect.

For example, there are several Forum members with whom I disagree about positions on the current Administration. I still have great respect for both their arguments on other issues, and the positive presence they bring to this Forum.

When it comes to Trump, simply look back to my posts in the Forum during the 2016 campaign. I knew what I was getting when I voted for him, good and bad.

He is doing more that I like than I dislike, and as long as that lasts, he has my respect as President, and my support.

I loved him in The Apprentice.

It's hard to think of someone I have less respect for.

I do not respect him as a person, knowing what I do about him, how could I? No way in hell do I respect him as an acting president, he lacks the character, maturity, intelligence and patriotism to hold that office in this country. He bullies, intimidates, insults and posts ignorant nonsensical tweets on his social media account, like a teen with emotional challenges, and he's in bed with and selling our country out to murderous dictators like Mr. Putin, who he serves at the pleasure of. Anyone who respects him is as deplorable as he is.

Hell no on either account, but he still isn't Hillary so that makes him worthy of the office plus it is entertaining as hell to watch democrats and never trumpers be irrational at mental illness levels when it comes to him. I just hope he tweets Nancy a pix of his arse when both counts of the impeachment go down in flames in the Senate. It will be troll gold.

As a person, hell no.

As a President, no, not particularly.

The reason why I support him is that most of his policies are ones that I agree with. I appreciate some of his punching back at the left but it's way too far and off the rails many times. If there could be a Trump-light or something that would be much better. There was a definite need to punch back at the left and the media but not to such an extreme.

This. He's a cringy embarrassment of a president and a black stain on the office that is unfortunately historic and indelible.

No, not as a person and not as a President.

As a person, I pity him. I think he's mentally ill and, despite all of his riches, he is a destitute person who is perpetually unhappy. As President, he's unfit to serve.

Do I respect a man or president that lies to the American people he serves, cheats on his wives and pays to cover it up and brags about using his power to assault women? Really?

Good heavens, no.

Do You Respect President Trump?

There are undoubtedly worse people in the country.

But a guy who grew up with such privilege, who dodged responsibilities in his youth while mocking those who didn't, who has repeatedly used his name to scam decent people, who has lived a life of lies and self indulgence, and who constantly makes it clear he has no intention to make the effort to better himself to fit the office he was given the honor of holding? The world will not be a better place for him having been a part of it. In fact, it will be much the opposite.

Trump is the most powerful man on the planet right now.He deserves respect. He's right there with the Pope and God.I worship him.

I was going to say 'Don't know him' as an answer, but your's is far more accurate and better expressed about my feelings on the question.

Kudos to your better answer than mine. :)

I don't tend to respect people who are morally bankrupt, and I think history will brand Trump as the worst president in US history. In ten years I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone who will admit they supported this monster.

Trump is the guy who'll wish he was a camel when he meets the eye of the needle.

You know, this is a very good question and I don't believe I've heard anyone ask a republican that question before. We've heard the normal stuff a million times. "He's a great businessman. He makes great deals. He saved jobs and the economy. He's strong on immigration". But, respect? No, I don't think there's anyone that can possibly respect this man within the normal definition of the word 'respect'.

as a person?:lamo

Good lord no, ive never had respect for Donald Trump, even in my teen years when I first learned more about him (divorce, bankruptcy etc)

Now with that said the office of the president gets a certain amount of respect and he is in that office but other than that not so much. I really dont understand how anybody HONESTLY could.

but to each thier own . . .

As a person I don't have any respect for him.

But, as a President, I have respect for certain things he does. I like the way he has been rattling China's cages and getting them to see the light as it were regarding how they always try to steal our intellectual property.

I truly believe that he is against war--perpetual war--and so am I. I respect his position on it...I think he is surrounded by people who would like to go to war but Trump doesn't seem to be buying that strategy.

I do think he is trying to address the immigration issue. He doesn't have all the answers, but he is tackling the problem head-on. Hope it comes to something constructive.

So I do have respect for some of the things he does and some of the things he stands for, but as a person....nope.
