Some may shudder.

Close your eyes and imagine this. Trump invited foreign interference in our Presidential election again -- the first time in 2016. Trump tried to bribe a foreign leader. Trump completely ignores Congress (Obstruction of Congress). Trump is declared innocent of all charges by the Republican Senate.

Trump is elected to another four years in office without the concerns of reelection which dominated his persona since Jan. 21, 2017 the first time.

He would be the most powerful man on the planet, and he would be unleashed. Already he ignores the American people. Answering only to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and "Fox and Friends," he avoids press conferences and the White House press corps. Now we add Congress to the list. He will simply ignore what our representatives do and say. Already, Trump has hijacked the power of the purse, thanks to a complicit Congress.

He will rule with complete impunity for four more years (or more). That is the power the Senate will give him, and why? Because they are scared of Trump's base.

The irony is, I don't think his base will like what will happen. They don't want it to happen.

But they enabled it! The real Pandora's Box. The real be careful what you wish for! Does McConnell really want this?

After his acquittal, Trump will pursue his failing re-election bid, and will be arrested on 21 January 2021.

That is one giant leap mate, America has a pretty bad track record of holding its powerful people accountable, I would not count on that.

Start another impeachment inquiry.

Especially powerful people who haven't committed a crime. If he'd done black face like your own prime minister, that might be different.

Given your scenario...but ignoring your hysteria...here's what will happen:

1. The Dems won't give up until they are relegated to minority status in the House. In other words, they'll concoct some other reason to persecute the President.

2. Trump will continue to work toward the goals he set for himself and the American people...the goals that got him elected.

3. Yes...he will be virtually unstoppable, but as now, he won't break any laws.

4. And the rest of the world will submit to him...especially in matters of trade.

5. Main Street America will be happy. The TDS people...not so much. Too bad.

He will continue to do as he pleases, even if he abuses power. And GOP congress folks will turn a blind eye because Trump is still wildly popular with the new GOP base.

If Bernie Sanders wins the D nomination, we'll have Trump until 2024.

Be honest SS. What's the worst that could happen?

I'm a Trump supporter and I'm rooting for bolshevik Bernie to get the nomination. With all of Bernie's Marxist baggage, the attack ads from Trump will be glorious.

Trump has done very little as POTUS so your "rule with complete impunity for four more years" is hyperbole. He will just hang out at Mar Largo helping prepare it to become his Presidential Library. He will fund-raise like mad so his charity can "buy" it from him

Some awful bull**** scenario will occur as it does from time to time.
Trump will **** the pooch — full on fingers in the ass at the same time **** the pooch.

Former Trumpco customers will say, "I didn't realize that a leopard would eat MY face."

It's a rinse and repeat of the invasion of Iraq.
Objectively an awful idea from the get-go.
The Admin sold the idea that the experts who were said it was an awful idea were un-American partisans.

Now more than a decade later everyone acts like they knew it was a bad idea all along.

This is the same stupid ****.

In 15 years people will all act like they knew Trump was awful all along.

Does McConnell really want this?

Yes. All McConnell cares about is the plutocracy Republican donors want. As long as trump is signing those tax cuts for the rich - just today announcing his plans to cut Social Security and Medicare in 2021 if re-elected - he's thrilled.

Trump has done very little as POTUS

Golf, watch Fox, tweet, hang out at his properties getting them millions in tax dollars, picking names from the Federalist Society list for judges, signing Republican-approved bills, lying 15,000 times. Did I miss much?

He did his own version of the Auto Bailout to paper over the mess he made for our farmers.

The only activity that is "shutterable" is your characterization of what you 'say' happened vice what actually happened. He "invited" no one to interfere in our election, what you call "bribe" is merely using his power of our purse to convince someone to do what they should be doing already. Save previous administrations trying to (unsuccessfully) "buy" friendship, Trump has let them know that if you take our money, you will deliver, or forfeit future US largess. 'Obstruction of Congress' is laughable when whatever he did is FULLY within the powers of the office. Congress has obstructed the work we sent them to do merely by chasing this ludicrous impeachment.

Hell, if any D wins the nomination, we'll have Trump until 2024.
