What happens when Trump is acquitted?

Nah. Any of the moderates can beat him. The Independents will decide this election. They don't want fringe candidates like Bernie.

correction: the DNC won't allow a candidate like Bernie.

No we didn't.
We went through a scenario that took place before Trump, which is like the difference between B.C. and A.D. only this is A.T., After Trump.
But you go ahead and keep telling yourself it can't happen here as you **** over the Constitution and sacrifice country for the glory of party.

You guys have now set a brand new precedent.
And seeing as how apparently NO crime rises to the level of removal from office, go ahead and impeach all you like. We'll just do the same thing you've done this week, and nothing will remove any future president from office no matter how hard you try.
You have written the playbook on how to get away with literally anything, and I guarantee you that playbook WILL be used against you.

you can "get away with anything" ,meaning not get impeached over hearsay and speculation, NOW, so long as a great deal of people support you.

Some may shudder.

Close your eyes and imagine this. Trump invited foreign interference in our Presidential election again -- the first time in 2016. Trump tried to bribe a foreign leader. Trump completely ignores Congress (Obstruction of Congress). Trump is declared innocent of all charges by the Republican Senate.

Trump is elected to another four years in office without the concerns of reelection which dominated his persona since Jan. 21, 2017 the first time.

He would be the most powerful man on the planet, and he would be unleashed. Already he ignores the American people. Answering only to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and "Fox and Friends," he avoids press conferences and the White House press corps. Now we add Congress to the list. He will simply ignore what our representatives do and say. Already, Trump has hijacked the power of the purse, thanks to a complicit Congress.

He will rule with complete impunity for four more years (or more). That is the power the Senate will give him, and why? Because they are scared of Trump's base.

The irony is, I don't think his base will like what will happen. They don't want it to happen.

But they enabled it! The real Pandora's Box. The real be careful what you wish for! Does McConnell really want this?

Trump will be preening as never before in the history of preening. His preening will the the best, the most terrifically beautiful, and previously unheard of. What a hideous prospect.

LOL. The level of delusion that the TDS sufferers have is entertaining.
I especially love the "Trump's done NOTHING!" statements.

What, are you people hiding under rocks? You can't see what Trump's done?

Trump is the least trusted president in the history of polling. Two-thirds of Americans regard him as dishonest. Sixty-one percent say he does not respect democracy.

With the departure of Secretary of Defense James Mattis at the end of 2018, there is no figure left in the administration who does command broad respect from the public, Congress, or American allies—who can credibly step forward and say, “This time, the president is not lying.”

Even the White House press secretary has given up. Unlike her two predecessors, who lied to the media’s face, the current holder of the office, Stephanie Grisham, has abandoned press briefings entirely.

It has come to the point that Trump is expected to be lying any time he opens his mouth. His fan club doesn't care, and that speaks volumes about their own set of moral principles (if any).

Tell me, what has he actually done? I'll be delighted to refute every one of your claims. Go for it...

Golf, watch Fox, tweet, hang out at his properties getting them millions in tax dollars, picking names from the Federalist Society list for judges, signing Republican-approved bills, lying 15,000 times. Did I miss much?

You only missed name calling, hosting rallies so the morons who support him can toss their panties at his feet, read Playboy, grab ******s, and watch Fox and Friends every morning so he can be sure not to miss it when the blonde woman in the middle uncrosses her legs and he can see her thong.

The best ending would be the failure of...the attempted interference by The Democrat Party in the 2020 Presidential Election/other Elections via their impeachment actions and their ultimate goal to use impeachment to remove Trump from office or the ballot and tarnish their opposition in the other 2020 Elections.

So, The People of the United States are the ones who will be deciding who Our President will be in the 2020 Presidential Election and the other 2020 Elections.

No way, should The Majority Democratic House alone ever be allowed to interfere in Our 2020 Elections to gain Democrat Political Power via impeachment to circumvent the People’s Voting Rights in all of the upcoming 2020 Elections.

Roseann:)

Our economy is the strongest in the world. We have the strongest, most high tech military in the world. We now have a president who accomplished better trade deals, which will benefit all Americans, and one who holds other nations more accountable for their own defense costs.
Obama's been gone three long years- he was at best a mediocre President by any standard of measurement, and was unable to accomplish half of what Trump's done in only three. You Europeans may not like "America First", but it's working out here for us.

I’d much rather have free trade and a smart, muscular internationalist foreign policy....but okay.

I'm a Trump supporter and I'm rooting for bolshevik Bernie to get the nomination. With all of Bernie's Marxist baggage, the attack ads from Trump will be glorious.

So you hate past Russia, but must love modern Russia, because we know Donny boy is smitten.

The left have been screaming for three years now that the sky is falling. Our country is chugging along very nicely.

What concerns many if Trump is acquitted of inviting foreign interference in our Presidential elections for personal political reasons and using bribery of a foreign leader as incentive is that he thinks he can do anything he wants as President.

How do we know that?

He said it.

"I have an Article 2, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president." – President Donald Trump, July 23, 2019

Article II of the Constitution: Trump's 'right to do whatever I want?' Or a roadmap for impeachment?

Yes, the judiciary and intelligence committees are ginning up new hearings for further inquiry to the treason of Donald J. Trump.

He will continue to do as he pleases, even if he abuses power. And GOP congress folks will turn a blind eye because Trump is still wildly popular with the new GOP base.

If Bernie Sanders wins the D nomination, we'll have Trump until 2024.

You underestimate Sanders. He will probably win in 2020, regardless of who the R is. His biggest obstacle is the democrats.

$50 to your favorite charity or to this board, that's my wager on Trump vs. Sanders. Trump will beat Bernie, if he is the nominee.

On what grounds do you think Trump beats Sanders? I'll bet you a case of the best Lager PA brews - and that brewery is a Trump supporting entity. ;)

1) Bernie has not been vetted on a national level 2) "Socialism" is going to become a very scary thing to millions of people when the MAGA army and $1B pounds the drum.

Not sure how to pay up on the Lager PA bet.

Nah. Fox news and the right have called socialism on everything the left has done. It's like a damned race card at this point. All it's doing is driving the youth toward marxism.

Fox News and Trump supporters are leaving Bernie alone at present. They are dying to run against Bernie, a man with an undistinguished Senatorial career, who only sidles up to the Dem Party in order to run for President and a man that has now self-avowed as a Democratic Socialist running for the WH. The GOP will shove that right back down Bernie's throat if he ever gets to to be the nominee. Having a few self-avowed Democratic Socialists bouncing around on the Hill is one thing. Having one in the Oval is quite another.

I really dont care what trump or his supporters say about anything. They have no credibility and are not decent people.

So remind me to let you know when I begin to give a **** what any conservative says about anything.

What if the Democrats succeeded in removing Trump? Goodbye Constitution. One party rule from now on.

Please explain your logic.

Now I know what you are going to say. Trump's election was the will of the American people.

Wrong, Trump is a minority President, elected by 27% of the electorate. The majority of Americans who voted chose Clinton. Trump lost the popular voted by three million.

How about today? Again, the majority of Americans disapprove of him. Since being elected, Trump has been consistent. His disapproval rating has ranged between 52% and 60%. 51% of Americans want Trump convicted and removed from office. That is the highest yet. 69% want witnesses called, including 48% of Republicans.

So, by no means is Trump's removal from office a violation of the wishes of the American people, and where you get the idea his conviction will lead to single party rule is beyond me. I am hoping you can explain your reasoning.

I'm betting you can't.

Where do I get the idea? Your comment is a good place to start. You present as another person that wants to dispose of the annoying Constitution. That fits. I have seen people go so far as to say that he was not their President. It's total disrespect for the Constitution and the Rule of Law. Doing away with the annoying requirement of elections would be the next logical step.

All that said, you underestimate how angry the impeachment is making the country. The signs are there, in the polling, in the rhetoric, in the priorities if you want to look. All it takes is an open mind, which you do not have. If you did, you would oppose impeachment.
