True, most trials are decided with witnesses and documents. You know those things the republicans are doing their best to conceal.

Try this on for size. If seventy percent want to see witnesses and don't because the republicans block it from happening. Do you think that will help the gop come november? I don't.

This whole ordeal is just political showboating. The networks started with wall to wall coverage. Now you get a 3 minute summary in the morning to make room for segments on making meatless lasagna. Even PBS has decided that the public good is better served by reruns of Antiques Roadshow than live, primetime coverage of this impeachment nonsense.

And why should people care? Nobody expects anything to come of this. Trump is not going to be removed, and all of the polling suggests that same people who didn't like Trump before don't like him now, and the people who did like him before still like him now. Impeachment has had as much an impact on Trump's popularity as the weather. **Yawn**

I remember asking myself in 1998 when I was a Republican and the Republicans were trying to remove Bill Clinton from his duly elected post because he lied about an affair if that was worthy (it wasn't). But that didn't stop them from doing it anyway.

and stopped dead in the senate

the charge of perjury...which was the most egregious charge just wasnt enough to remove a sitting president

we have the same issue here....partisan charges...unproven at that for now...that even if true, many wont consider egregious enough to remove a sitting president

i dont know about you....but i think that it ought to be really apparent that a president has committed MAJOR CRIMES against the state in order to remove him/her from office....partisan bull**** should not qualify

i think every president from this point on is going to have to deal with this crap though.....the partisanship has gotten out of hand

All that was in it for Bill Clinton's crime was his wife not finding out about his affair. No impact to the nation or any other nation in any way, shape or form.

Trump was trying to interfere in the 2020 election by casting doubt on his presumed rival, and withholding taxpayer money while doing it.

All one has to do is turn on the tv and yes, the MAJORITY of americans want to see witnesses. What's the difference where the news comes from? The right will dismiss it like y'all dismiss any other fact with your prove it crap.

Not necessarily -- if it was discovered that the Bidens actually were corrupt in regards to the political/business nature of Burisma and the firing of the prosecutor -- it would reinforce the need for an investigation.

Well, as I've said several times before, Ukraine investigated and fined Burisma, there was no evidence that Biden was involved in any corruption, to the point that he wasn't even mentioned.
The very idea that Trump would be concerned about corruption in laughable. His answer seems to have been to use corruption to fight it through the use of back channels instead of powerful U.S. Government agencies. Gee, I wonder why he did that? :roll:

The charges against Trump have zero to do with the Bidens. They have no relevancy and cannot be called. If Trump wants them in court he needs to find something to charge them with and they will appear for their own case. The problem is there is nothing to charge them with and there never was or he would have done that.

You do have to prove he is relevant to the case and that is not the case with Biden. He knows nothing about Trump's extortion of Ukraine or the obstruction of the evidence of his guilt.
