Why wasn't Obama impeached?

More specifically, Congress did not act. They set policy, not the president. They didn't declare war, they didn't pass a law to do something Obama ignored. They did, however, pass military aid under trump that trump was required by law to deliver, and he withheld it to try to extort forcing Ukraine to lie about his political opponent, for which he should be removed from office.

The impeachment is over using political power to attack a rival. If breaking a promise or making a mistake was impeachable, we wouldn't have any presidents.

We all know that President Obama would never, ever have been impeached.

His election was historic.

Any attempt to humiliate him would have resulted in very unpleasant civil disturbances throughout the land and even in the world.

If it had been proven that he had, indeed, committed an egregious illegal act, he would have been allowed to cite "health reasons" for his leaving the White House.

Schitff mentioned that 15,000 Ukrainians died. I am not sure where he got that number but it was clear he was trying to implant into the narrative that Trump caused the deaths of 15,000 Ukrainians by delaying arms shipments three weeks that the Ukrainians were not even expecting to receive by a certain deadline. Maybe that was the number of Ukrainian deaths under Obama who sent Ukraine no military hardware when Russia invaded in spite of the Budapest Memorandum Bill Clinton had signed with Ukraine in 1994.

Its not a defense, its a fact. If Ttump can be impeached for this then any president can be. It's a dangerous precedent that will be used against all future presidents...including your next favorite democrat. In this case Trump is being impeached for the same things that dems golf clapped for Obama when he did them. Obama even bragged about his phone and pen. He intentionally lied to the American public about our healthcare...did dems impeach? Noooo they golf clapped with tears of joy running down their cheeks.

Actually, it is. Abuse of presidential power (e.g. for corrupt intent) is unique to the president and impeachment is the only remedy available under the Constitution. Are you conceding that Trump abused presidential power?

Horse****. That precedent was set when Ken Starr and the GOP railroaded Clinton into impeachment. Clinton had the nerve to lie about a sexual encounter in the oval office. Trump lies daily, tried to get another country to investigate his biggest rival and much much worse things.

Obama handed over Crimea and you claim he is squeaky clean? Trump has to be convicted. But he will not be convicted.

In Clinton's case, he himself asked for a special prosecutor be named. So he asked his AG at the time, Janet Reno to get a special prosecutor. Clinton lied about more than sex. He lied about other sexual encounters outside of the oval office.
