Why wasn't Obama impeached?

Turns out Schiff admitted the USA had promised to Ukraine that if they gave up their Nukes, we would step up to defend Ukraine.

Did you know that? I did not until Schiff confessed this Wednesday.

Crimea was taken from Ukraine. Obama did not defend Ukraine. He gave them MRE and blankets of course. But he broke the promise to defend Ukraine.

Did any of you know about it? A bit past 8 PM est time is when Schiff confessed.

So why didn't Schiff impeach Obama?

Ukraine doesn't have nuclear weapons. Those were Russian, and they were destroyed during Clinton's term.

In 1994 Ukraine agreed to destroy the weapons, and to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

At least Obama recognized that Russia was in Ukraine and imposed sanctions. Trump said that Putin told him Ukraine interfered in the US election.

Because much like how there is nothing to impeach trump over there was nothing worthwhile to impeach obama over, and efforts to impeach obama then were hyper partisan just like the trump impeachment efforts ie political hit jobs rather than bipartisan justice.

Correct. So you agree with me that (and this came from Adam Schiff) we agreed to trade Ukraine our defense of them so long as they eliminated Nukes.

Obama refused to defend Crimea. He could easily have been impeached.

Trump never will be found guilty. Same way it was for Clinton.

Schiff should have kept his mouth shut today that we had promised Ukraine to defend them.

Trump hit Russia with a lot more sanctions. And has our nations armor forces on the Russian Border.

Trump never reported Putin said that to him. Trump got the word from Joe Biden.

I do not vote for Democrats. That habit I quit in time to vote for Reagan in 1980.

By the way, those hoping that Trump will be convicted have a long way to fall down.
 
If we had known in 2015 what we know now, Obama might have been impeached. There was certainly plenty of cause. Using the CIA, NSA and FBI to spy on Americans is clearly impeachable. It is noteworthy that, in addition to being scummy, there are a lot of laws and agency procedures that were trampled.

I just looked and found 2-3 sources reporting that Trump “learned” in his meeting with Putin that it was Ukraine, not Russia that interfered. Of course the wicked liberals who make up our intelligence agencies said it was Russia. They ignored all the evidence of Ukraine’s interference.

That's what Obama meant when he assured Russia (thinking he was off microphone) that he can be "flexible after the election." Flexibility meant giving Russia Crimea, Eastern Ukraine, 20% of our uranium, and much more.

I can't challenge a thing said that quotes Putin since our own news media lacks resources to come to us accurately.

Trump announces that both countries could do this. But refuses to blame just Russia.

We were closer to Ukraine and perhaps they favored only Hillary. She was a known to them and Trump was not.

Do not trust Democratic Presidents is a lesson every country should have learned by now.

I bet Eastern Europeans trusted FDR and Truman too. BIG mistake. NEVER trust a Democratic President about anything and certainly not any treaty or mutual defense agreement.

Actually, never trust a Democratic President started with the first Democratic President, Andrew Jackson. Native Americans quickly learned how much to trust treaty agreements with a Democratic administration. He so wanted to break those treaties, he defied a unanimous Supreme Court decision not only to violate treaties - but to put tens of thousands of those Native Americans - mostly elderly, women and children on a 1000 mile by-foot death marches - slowly murdering thousands of them, with it otherwise a route of mass scale rape, violent assaults and being robbed. Upon arrive, their new home for those who survived were rape centers for soldiers and white settlers.

THAT is how much you can trust a Democratic President in any treaty or agreement.

There is nothing about trusting a democratic POTUS. Those weapons belonged to Russia and were left in Ukraine when Russia collapsed. It was the International Atomic Energy Admin. that took care of those weopons and they were destroyed or returned to Russia. Bill Clintoin had nothing to do with it.

Donald Trump wasn't impeached because he reused to defend Ukraine. He is being impeached because he tried to blackmail Ukraine and use foreign aid in a quid pro quo relationship to Ukraine in exchange for his personal agenda to get reelected. by forcing them to investigate Joe Biden before he would release that aid. The president isn't permitted to use the power of his office for a personal or partisan agenda.

The Budapest Accords were the deal which Russia broke in 2014 when it covertly and then overtly invaded Ukraine, seized Crimea from Ukraine and militarily supported armed separatists in Southeastern Ukraine. Five major powers signed the deal to denuclearise the Ukraine miltary and all agreed to protect Ukraine. None did.

Refusing to go immediately to a hot war with a nuclear-armed rival power may be craven in some folks minds, but it is not a criminal act. Therefore no grounds for impeachment. So President Obama was neither impeached nor tried for reneging on the USA's protection promise to Ukraine. The same cannot be said of President Trump's administration which broke US law when it held back Congressionally approved military aid to Ukraine according to the Government Accounting Office (GAO). Thus the impeachment and the Senetate Trial for President Trump is rooted in breaking US law..
