Who controls California

 That's what I thought.

Good try, but a total failure. Trying to make it look like I am the one cutting out when in reality you are the one refusing to own up to your erroneous accusation of slander against me. You avoid it like the plague, I gave you an out, recant your accusations or prove them, of course you can't, so you continue to ignore that and further twist your posts. :2wave: goodbye, you're history. Would have expected better from a mod.

I moved here in '86. I stay because my kids are here, and the wife wants to stay close to them. If it were just me, I'd have been gone years ago. Maybe New Mexico. Or southern Arizona.

I'm sorry you're forced to live in this hell hole. Out of the 40 million Californians, how many do you think are conservative? Ten to fifteen million? They all can't be forced to live in a state they all say is too expensive, too crowded, has too many loony politicians and non-white people. Yet I've never heard one of them on this forum, or in person, point out all the great things about California and why we're the most populist state. If you ever meet a fellow conservative who chooses to live here voluntarily, you might ask him why...

What do you think your kids and the wife know about California that you don't? Or are they forced to live here too?

Over the past 10-15 years the Republican controlled states of Kansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma have all tried the failed Republican economics system called 'trickle down'. Because of trickle down all 3 states economies went right in the toilet...

Contrast that to California which has the 5-6 largest economy in the world!!! Yet once a week a Trumpster is here spewing the lies and propaganda he heard on Fox about what a hell hole California is. Many of these Trumpsters haven't even been to California.

Trumpsters are a poorly educated cult indeed.

According to the story, the primary reason for leaving is a high cost of living. That suggests a desirable, but unaffordable home. So they go somewhere like Texas, with its pollution, failing schools, red necks and tumbleweed. In short, an undesirable, but affordable home.

High taxes are included in the "High cost of living"(WINK)

Too many people. Too much traffic. Ridiculous gas prices. An idiot for a governor and a legislature filled with idiots. Oh ya.

But the weather is nice.

Yes, just close your eyes and hum to everything except the weather Grandpppy (LOL)

I, along with most Californians would agree with your first three points and the weather. Whatever the reason(s) that brought you here and assuming you want to stay, indicates to me that you believe the positives outweigh the downsides.

While I despise Numnuts, I'm still proud to be an American, but I've never heard a conservative Californian express pride in his state or point out its upsides when we're attacked by the far right, many of which have probably never been here. Why is that?

The next time Luther or another conservative sh___ on California, consider pointing out some of the great things about living in one of our country's most beautiful cities in one of our most beautiful states...

California population is still growing. Others are just growing faster. Glad I could assist in beating back your ignorance a tad.

Oh no!...........

The report shows California added more than 180,000 people when accounting for births and deaths for the 12 month period ending July 1. But when you include people who moved in and out of the state, California lost 39,500.

State officials say it is the first time since the 2010 census that more people left California than moved in over the course of a year, contributing to the state’s slowest recorded growth rate since 1900.

Look at a chart of our rapid population growth over the last four decades. One out of eight Americans live here for many good reasons as I'm sure you know. Although you're right about people moving out, I believe for the vast majority it's due to the high cost, not liberal politicians. You can claim the high cost is due to liberals, but our city folk disagree and there's a lot more of us.

Due to our birthrate and the lucky Americans who move here, overall it's not much of a loss. In any case, I would wager that a decade from now we'll see an overall increase in population.

Your video points out how only a few rich families can control so much, but this is happening in every state, conservative or liberal. Money equals power everywhere. The rich are getting richer and the poor getting poorer. This is the result of Republican policies, tax cuts for the rich and corporations, for example.

And yes everyone is allowed to dislike how any state is run and I have the right to defend what I believe is still the golden state. I guess you're right about the old love it or leave it trite, but isn't that a well worn phrase of conservatives?...

Golden? So increasing homelessness, high tax rates, and declining infrastructure is ok?

Ok, being a conservative Californian I'll answer that.

The good things about California:

-Job opportunities (Still has a good amount of jobs, especially in technology)

-Lots of things to do (California does have a lot of places to go to, great national parks, etc)

-The weather (duh)

-Beautiful geography (up in the northern half especially)

I sent my crystal ball out to be polished so I have no idea how California will be in 15 years, I just know that NOW it's economy is waaaay better then the Red state dumps like Mississippi, Kansas, etc..

I mean seriously, you guys fall for the lies and BS on Fox, when it's disproved then you 'project' failure in the future? Too funny.

Possible because Caif has Huge...... ports? The states you describe are land locked(Rolling eyes)

Is is because also Calif just so happens to have a HUGE agriculture like the San Joaquin and imperial valleys blessed by good weather and soil?

Now, on the business side of things the jury is still out because businesses are fleeing Calif

Keep the Calif faith(LOL)

California has been the most populous state in the US since the 1960s. On current trends, that may not last much longer.

The US Census recently released estimates of population growth for US states from 2018 to 2019. The data showed that the population of California barely budged, growing by just 0.1%, to around 39.5 million people. This was the lowest rate of growth for California this decade, and suggests that the state’s population may start shrinking in the 2020s. California residents are leaving the state in droves, and many fewer people from elsewhere in the US come to replace them. The only reason the state’s population hasn’t already started shrinking is a large number international migrants.

In contrast, the population of Texas, the second-most populous state, grew by 1.3%. That was the fifth-fastest growth rate among states, taking Texas’s population to 29 million. Over the decade, the state’s population increased by about 4 million. This is partly because so many more people move from California to Texas (86,000 in 2018) than from Texas to California (38,000).

Note the founder (underlined in red), Alex Jones. The same Alex Jones who said 9/11 was an inside job and is currently being sued by the parents of little children murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary for pushing the disgusting and completely untrue conspiracy theory that it was all a hoax.

Anyone who believes anything Jones says and/or peddles in his lies should be ashamed of themselves.

More future projections on your part? You can't defend the hell hole red states whose economies have been ruined by failed Republican economic policies, so again you try and predict the future...

Texas’s population may surpass California’s even earlier than 2045.

25 years from now? We're talking about NOW, not 50 years ago, not 25 years in the future.. NOW!! California's economy is the 5th largest in the world, Red state hell holes like Mississippi is ranks 50th in EVERYTHING just right here in the US. Add in most red states take in more Fed money that they put in, in other words those Blue states are paying your way. So don't worry about California, and NY, etc.. Fix your own states 1st...

How about the failed economy in Red Texas?

Does also the Red state of Mississippi have a very high BLACK population?

Oh my...

I have been to California a couple times in my life it is beautiful I can see why so many people want to live there. Problem with California unless you have a lot of money or a very high paying job good luck living there. I hear it is very hard to live off a 25-50k year salary there. I have seen houses that sell for 400,000 there and that is on the very low end. In Michigan I can get a very similar size house for like 80k, in fact I can purchase a run down house that needs a lot of work for about that size for like 30k and spend money to fix it up. A friend of mine dine that, his house cost him only like 30k and he fixed it up. In Michigan you can easily live comfortably off 25k a year. On 50k a year you can live very comfortable in Michigan. I can rent apartments or cheap trailers for as cheap as $350 / month if I talk to the right people. In California unless you make really good money I see it pointless to live there, people will just go homeless because it is just too expensive to live there.

This is true. It’s just the old economic law of supply and demand: more people want to live in CA than MI. I think the weather has a lot to do with it. Or maybe it’s the more diverse economy and more jobs. Or maybe it’s because there’s more to do there. In MI, unless you live in Ann Arbor or maybe some of the wealthier suburbs or Detroit, there’s just not much to do.

Whatever it is, it’s not because conservative policies are better and we all need to look like rural Alabama.

We merely need to upgrade our infrastructure. Unemployment compensation for simply being unemployed can work wonders for any economy.

Does also the Red state of Mississippi have a very high BLACK population?

Oh my...

There it is.. The non white people are the problem in California AND Mississippi.

So in your eyes this isn't about economics, or politics.. It's about your racism. I see why you live in Idaho, it's all clear now.

Have a nice day...

Awesome!

While the average American high schoolers are spending most of their time playing football and making out with their girlfriend under the bleachers, these Indian kids are studying calculus and physics and learning to code. So that’s why hiring them makes CA one of the largest economies in the world, but Idaho just keeps growing potatos.

You want CA to stop and just grow potatos too?

Supporting ones state over others is an admirable gesture, but it doesn’t mean it’s true.

According to an extensive study/survey conducted by U.S. News and World Report, in 2020, California didn’t even make the top ten (CA came in at #19) of most desirable states to live in.
http://worldpopulationreview.com/states/best-states-to-live-in/

You can’t fake economic laws. CA is expensive because demand to live there is so high. People leave when they can no longer afford it.

There it is, you just ignore reality

Blacks are twice as likely to be on the Gov tit than whites(and they are a minority)
