An interesting event at coffee this morning.

Five days a week my wife and I have coffee with about 20 regular attendees. This morning a lady showed up that one of the members knew. I had never met the woman before. There was some light political discussion going on. When I suggested that many democrats cant get over the fact that "her turn" Hillary didnt get elected, this woman exploded on me. She was loud uncivil and profane, and told me to shut the **** up. It is like no one can have a political view other than what the left says is ok.


My question is----------------- why is this so common among the far left?

At least she didnt go all Charlottesville and run you down after coffee, right?

Point being, its not like the left has the patent on loud assholes.....we just tend to force you to see them in day to day life as opposed to making them our talking heads and go to's for information every night.

A more realistic scenario has you peddling Trump conspiracy nonsense and someone telling you to cram it.

My question is: why is pathological dishonesty and rank hypocrisy so common among conservative and twump sycophants?
 
It's Trump's fault.

Donald Trump and everyone that voted for him have created an environment where otherwise normal people can no longer control their emotions.

Actually, in all seriousness, many people on the left treat politics as a religion. They have generally eschewed God in favor of political policy that they see as benefiting them in some way. When someone questions their politics it is, to them, much the same as if someone were to question the beliefs of a devotee of some other religion. They tend to lash out because they perceive "infidels" as a threat not only to their beliefs but to their very lives. To them there is no such thing as independence. In their minds the only way one can achieve independence through destruction of government.

I went to a biweekly coffeeklatch aka henfest with some ladies for a while. Now and then politics came up, and some of the ladies got rather loud and opinionated. They are conservative. It got so embarrassing at times that I stopped going.

My question is ---------------- how could you possibly have gotten it into your head that anyone might be fooled into thinking this story is real? It is so painfully obvious that you invented it just to get to the last sentence, an attack on 'the left'.

Other other question is --------------- are you really to unable understand in a hypothetical sense that you would be insulting someone to suggest to them that the reason they criticize Trump is that they "can't get over the fact that [] Hillary didn't get elected"?

I find that hard to believe. Of course since you see you are a conservative, why would they attack one of our own. Did you report this assault to the police? What did they have to say? Have they found any of these kids yet? :)

My sister forbids my brother in law and I from talking politics because of how loud we get. He is conservative, me liberal, and we have a great time arguing.

I'd say the woman was far to the Left -- in the "progressive" camp. That's a pretty common reaction for them -- they thrive on anger and instability. Just look at AOC - she'd likely react in the same odd manner.

I'm not sure why - the near Left (moderate liberals) are pretty decent folks. It's always been the far left that acts like out-of-control idiots. Sorry you had to go through that -- and I'm sorry for anyone who has to live/work/deal with that woman.

Im quite sure that when she meets up with some of her friends, she will tell them how she tried to silence another evil person that vote for Trump.

Some time back a conservative reporter said that the left is open to all ideas, but then they are outraged to find out that there are OTHER ideas.

Husband is a staunch liberal, I consider myself middle of the road. It gets lovingly lively at times.
