Don't you think Democrat senators are in need of the same reminder?

No. They are honoring their oaths of loyalty to this country and our constitution.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

the Tweety party is only going to protect Tweety. that's what they do. it's sad that the former Republican party has devolved into a cult around a game show host, but it is what it is.

'Domestic Enemy Don'. Pretty damned good name for him.

I like that but considering his loyalty to Russia can he really be considered a "domestic" enemy, or is he just a flat out ****ing traitor???

I agree, they do definitely need reminders of their oaths. Well see if they're drunk on the koolaid and turn their backs on the constitution and fall in line with the traitor who serves at the pleasure of Mr.Putin. We'll see if any of them have any patriotism or character and do what is lawful and fair. You can't have a fair trial without the evidence/documents and witness testimonies of those who participated and had first hand knowledge. To repeat for the hundredth time, if he was innocent, they would be eager to provide all the evidence needed and Trump would not be removed from office and they could all hold their heads high.

But I thought all Republicans were blindly devoted to Trump. WTF?

The Republicans currently in Congress are blindly devoted to Trump, that's for sure.

However, you may be in for a rude awakening during the impeachment trial. There are at least 20 Republican Senators concerned about their political futures if the acquit Trump, due to the majority of public opinion and Republican groups like this one. Count on it.

I don't know if we can count on it, but we can still have hopes that there are some ethical Republicans left...

He's domestic because he's inside the country - Russia would be foreign, but an American serving them against America is domestic.

People project. It's why Republicans say everyone is crooked and why Democrats say maybe they have honesty in them.

8% of Republican voters support removal. That's all they care about, not the law, not the country.

it's odd when you consider that his VP is basically Tweety with a better brain. ****, McConnell's best move is probably to push for a conviction. it's not like Tweety cultists are going to vote for Democrats instead of Pence.

What exactly are you referring to? Do they have a oath of loyalty to the President or to the US Constitution?

You seriously want me to respond???

Lets start with where the house democrats placed their fidelity. Even if we accept there fallacious accusations as sincere. They made the investigation process heavily partisan. Thats not an opinion its a fact.

Now when they are the minority power they want everyone to be concerned over how much say they get in this phase. They should of thought of several months ago.

That boat has sailed and now the republicans are going to have their say and they are gonna give Trump his say. Now its the democrats turn to have a seat and stfu, or throw tantrums like spoil children do. Who cares, not me, nor should anyone else at this point.
They had the chsnce to play nice and they rejected that option. Now the game is over and they lost. End of conversation.
All this self righteous grandstanding is transparently insincere. We all know if the Democrats held a 51 vote majority in the senate how Trump and the Republicans would be treated by them.
While i do think theres a lot of merit in just disposing of this sham as uickly and cleanly as possible, there is a part of me that hopes they dissect this thing into excrutiating detail. Shove it so far up the Democrats ass that they choke on the taste of it in their throats. I hope they parade every single person in front of Congress that the Democrats are objecting too. Grill all of them with extreme aggressive interogations. And not allow a single witness to be presented thst the Democrats request. A completely one sided dressing down of the Democrats.

Did I sufficiently answer your question or do you need me to break it down more?

That may be so. But there are at least 20 Republican Senators who are going to have an extremely difficult time getting re-elected if they acquit Trump. It is actually in their best political interest to remove Trump.

They can't win statewide elections only with Repug support. They aren't in gerrymandered, ruby red districts like the idiot Repugs in the House.

I think it would probably be in their political interest also, to get rid of the anchor that is trump

But I think they look hard at that 8% of the base number. We'll see. Hopefully we'll get the presidency AND both houses.

He's domestic because he's inside the country - Russia would be foreign, but an American serving them against America is domestic.

I think domestic and foreign, because by the Democrats seeking justice for the Trump corruption they are honoring their oaths by protecting this country not only from him, but from interference from Russia in our presidential elections. And the Democrats are also being loyal to our country as they swore to be, the complete opposite of the Dictator (wannabe) in Chief. The Democrats are also honoring the Constitution, something that Trump craps on every day.

I agree - trump is domestic, but Democrats are dealing with domestic and foreign enemies.
