The Donnie Dirtbag Is Not A Swamp; It's a Septic Tank

Just curious: Do you expect reasonable, although lively, debate when you begin with "Donnie Dirtbag"?

If the shoe fits...... what else would you call a President so mired in corruption that it is all we can talk about? When one of his staff aren't going to jail there are more being indicted or resigning in disgrace or disgust. And when Trump is not paying off his bimbos he is settling lawsuits for his fraudulent University or for stealing from his charity. It is non-stop.

Well Trump started that game so what do you expect?

I expect "Two wrongs make a right," "The other fellow started it," and other justifications.

And yet this site which in its banner says civility is a must allows it. IMHO this site is afraid to hold to any standards which would hurt participation.

I believe that the civility is to be among the commenters. There's no rule demanding civility toward politicians as rightwingers have demonstrated quite clearly over the years in their own hate-filled comments about politicians or even private citizens on the "left" whom they clearly despise. That you could write such an absurd and dishonest comment like that suggests you must not be aware of that old saw about people living in glass houses.

Is that how you rationalize pretending Your Dear Leader has done nothing wrong?

First, Trump is not my "dear leader." Second, two wrongs don't make a right.

Let's be honest for a moment here. I realize that some can do nothing more than continually criticize the President, but this isn't true of everybody. Not everybody jerks a knee to "Orange man bad."

Now trying the Judas angle, eh? And give up on this silly pre-school aphorism. It's silly and just plain false. There aren't "two wrongs" for anyone who isn't "under the influence" of the Cult of Donnie Dirtbag.

I think Donnie dirtbag is quite civil. I can come up with truly uncivil remarks. Instead of worrying about silly nicknames try addressing the op. 5 deferment cadet fake bone spurs is a malignant narcissist snake oil salesman. He reminds me of the guy in the Outlaw Josie Wales who gets spit on by Clint Eastwood. Is it good on stains? LOL!

You mean some ignore current events and choose to ignore Trump's offenses. That is certainly true and Trump is counting on that. I am of the opinion that being aware of the events around you. is an important part of being an American. That's why we have freedom of the press.

When you have a leader that is uncivil like Trump is, what do you expect? Lead by example and Trump is leading by being a lying prick.

We have a supply of lying pricks because US society has created a demand for them. The lying pricks on our side of the aisle are no worse than the lying pricks on your side of the aisle.

Hey look. A thread by Kyle Jurak!

You're right. Trump can do no right, and you are perfectly justified in finding fault in everything he does.

Trump has lied more than the last two presidents combined.

And you will defend Trump and support him no matter what he does.

Please find a post in which I have defended Trump.

And try, if you are able, to distinguish between objecting to continual two-minute hate criticisms and disrespect for the Office of the Presidency and actually defending Trump.

Good luck.

Anyone who doesn't gets called names.

You've come to the wrong place....

I want DP to be the right place. The use of derisive and insulting names announces to me that the person isn't worth attention because he or she has no interest in respectful, if very lively, debate, only in venting some adolescent spleen and overcompensating for weakness or misery in other areas of life.

I knew somebody once, a grown person with a child, who delighted in poking holes in all the loaves of the bread and pastries in the grocery store bread aisle. Just for fun, you know. ;)

Good debate can arise from provocative posts/posters.

There is also a difference between a provocative post and a provocateur. We call the latter "trolls."
