Disturbing Biden quotes resurface

Sanders’ supporters hated John Kerry. That’s why Kerry didn’t win Ohio.

It’s everyone’s fault but the actual candidate’s. What a garbage way to rationalize the Democratic establishment picking losers.

I mean, a mildly progressive Howard Dean was disqualified for yelling. The establishment tore him to pieces over it.

Sanders’ supporters now falling for the Republican line on impeachment wanting Biden to suspend his campaign during the Senate trial.

I don’t think Biden should suspend his campaign. I want him and his supporters to defend his record.

Did you know that Sanders took $10,000 from Hillary Clinton’s HillPAC? There’s so much more.

You really didn’t want this discussion of yours on destroying the only dependable voting bloc in the Democratic Party.

I don’t expect your ilk to be wise enough to understand why trump wants to run against Sanders (McGovern 2.0).

How old are you? I’m 66.

I looked up the term ‘Hillarize’, used by Linc. Apparently it’s coming directly from Team Biden, who is trying to foster a division among progressives.

So much for unity.

This is your candidate. Are you ready to vote for him?

If I have to, but I don’t have confidence that he’ll win. He could win, he could lose. Never bet against enthusiasm, which favours Trump vs. Biden. As I’ve said, Trump’s base will jump out of windows to vote for him. Biden’s voters will begrudgingly vote for him... maybe. Biden is a far worse candidate than Hillary Clinton. It’s not even close. Trump will be dropping political nukes on Biden using his own record.

The subject was racial integration in schools.
Yeah. That much was included in the text.
I was curious about the stuff not included.

There are elements of animalizing black people in the statement. It’s just as mess of racist tropes and segregationist rhetoric. He references that this ‘racial jungle’ would impact all of society.
That makes it sound like the issue was the use of the word "jungle" rather than w/e the plan he was advocating.

Is that the gist of what "needs defending"?

Sanders is against comprehensive immigration reform; takes dirty money from Wall Street; takes money from the NRA. I see you didn’t respond to Sanders taking $10,000 from HillPAC. Sanders is a regressive.

Using a poster’s name without quoting them is very poor form, Dans La Lune. Many posters at DP, not necessarily me, might call it chicken**** and cowardly. Criticizing that poster within your post is typical of the sleazy, passive aggressive behavior of Bernie Sanders and his cult.

In all my searches, I’ve never read anyone accusing Sanders of UNITY. Sanders and his team think they’re holier than R’s and D’s. They have no loyalty to Democrats. Sanders and his punk supporters think they pass a purity test that R’s and D’s don’t.

You haven’t voted for the Democratic candidate for President since and including 2000.

Do you get your talking points directly from Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign?

That’s very problematic. I’m willing to vote for a better candidate than Bernie. Please show me one.

Sanders is a regressive.

How so?

I wasn’t quoting you, though. I was citing you, and I attributed you properly.

Ok Boomer.

In all my searches

Where did you search, specifically?

I’ve never read anyone accusing Sanders of UNITY. Sanders and his team think they’re holier than R’s and D’s.

They are, because they are focused on policy and not which letter is on a stupid team jersey. I get that you don’t care about policy and need that team jersey. Would you have been a Democrat during the Civil War?

They have no loyalty to Democrats. Sanders and his punk supporters think they pass a purity test that R’s and D’s don’t.

They are closer than any of your candidates and their supporters.

You haven’t voted for the Democratic candidate for President since and including 2000.

You supported the Iraq Invasion in 2003, though. Hurrah for the Jersey with the D on it. All Hail the Mighty Letter D, hiss and boo the Letter R. Who cares about policy, support the letter D at all cost.

Here is Joe Biden being to the right of Ronald Reagan on criminal justice.

Trump will eat his lunch, especially on this issue which has devastated the black community.

I have never actually seen this speech. OMG. Joe Biden is an existential threat to defeating Donald Trump.

Context is helpful. At the time, many Americans, Black and white, felt crime was out of control. The crime bill had support from most of the Black Caucus. Politically, white workung class voters were abandoning the Democratic Party. Republicans would not vote to add aid to the crime bill, so pushing this was a no brainer.

The difference now is that while in retrospect, while Democrats recognize the harm it did, Republicans don't have a problem with more of it.

Interestingly, Biden has the Black vote. Videos like this get him the white vote.

I’m doing my level best to prevent it. If Biden is the nominee, it will be a razor thin election. With Bernie it would be a landslide in his favour. Bernie is basically the frontrunner now and he’s growing in strength, not waning.

Democrats for some reason don't seem to like Sanders. I hope he gets the primary, I will vote for him. Otherwise...I will likely vote for Trump again...keep burning it down until the message is truly received.

Despite what the DNC wants, America does not want more of the same. Sanders promises to not be that.

Do you think that’s an accurate illustration of who he is now?

Biden is referring to busing and violence, and he wasn't wrong about the violence, there had been terribly violent opposition in Boston just a year before he made these comments. Here is a famous picture from that time.

What if its burned to the ground?

What if its burned to the ground?

We will have a fresh starting point.

Look at it as it currently stands...there is daily scandal, and not just from team Trump. There's dick pics, sexual assault, games about sexual conquests, insider trading, pay to play, etc. Politics has become a family business, and they're using it, and selling us out, to increasingly enrich themselves. We all know this is happening. And when someone gets caught? They accidentally manage to kill themselves in maximum security prison on suicide watch at the precise moment the cameras were off, so no one else goes down. And when others get caught, meh. Small fine, maybe some soft time, and then they go get a job at Goldman Sachs. And we all knows. And...we do nothing?

Not a situation I want to be accused of handing to my kids one day, you know?

In retrospect: Bernie was right at the time.

And it’s not the sentiment of crime being out of control that’s the issue. It’s Biden’s framing of the issue using racist tropes that’s the problem, and his efforts to make the war on drugs draconian as possible, that’s the issue. Biden came up with the Crack to Cocaine sentencing disparity, for example. Today, I literally mean yesterday, Biden has double-downed on the racist trope that black people don’t know how to raise their children.
