Was listening to State Media yesterday in the car, and they said that Trump and China were going to come to a first step in agreeing to mend trade issues. They actually said it was 'good news' for Trump. However, they causally mentioned that this was "Trump's" trade war, as if Trump started it and was the cause of it.
So China manipulates their currency for decades and Trump finally retaliates with tariffs. This is characterized as Trump's trade war, and Trump is to be blamed for escalating: China sets the rules, not America, according to the media. America should be ashamed. Using the same logic, Churchill was wrong to try and shoot down the Bf 109's and the He 111's as they attacked Britain - He "escalated" and it became "Churchill's war". Shouldn't he have known that Germany was supposed to call the shots? "Britain first"? How selfish of Churchill. Didn't the Germans deserve something? Leftist logic.
So with the negative (and wholly inaccurate) characterization of "Trump's trade war" - who is that designed to reach? It's designed to reach the unsuccessful - the people that make less than the median income, as without them democrats don't get elected.
Common sense tells you that when you deal from a position of strength, stand up for yourself, confident in yourself, you get ahead. The people that are successful know and understand this - the people that aren't do not. So the next time the leftists start saying "America is too proud", think about who votes for democrats: those that make below the median income. Are they proud of their success, their ability? Probably not.
Leftists want to project America on the world stage with the same psychology of a poor person - and all the lack of esteem and self confidence that comes with it. That's where their core support is.
