Has anyone thought about how lucky Trump has been so far? Nothing really bad as happened since he was elected. That means he hasn't been tested, but it also means he can't be called a failure.

The stock market is insane -- I think it's a scary bubble, but it's making a lot of people happy, for now.

The economy isn't terrible. No planes crashed into buildings. No really horrible natural disasters, that I can think of at the moment.

If it continues this way through 2024, he won't be remembered as a lousy president. If something horrible happens, and he screws it up, he will be remembered as a disaster. If something horrible happens, and he somehow straightens things out, he could be remembered as great.

I realize that most Democrats think he is the worst president ever, and is destroying this country. But there is no evidence at all for that. No big negatives and no big positives. Yet, or maybe ever.

I would dispute you evaluation of nothing bad has happened under Trump.

1) the disunity between parties is at an all time high 2) Health care is worse now than in 2016, 3) mass killings are at an all time high,4) trust for the decision of the government among our allies is at a 100-year low, 5) national debt is at an all-time high, 6) clean air in our nation has worsened, 7) the fight for combating climate change is much worse, 8) stress and anger among people has increased 9) open racism has increased as White Nationalists are more open (and supported) now than before, 10) the Constitution is under attack as never before 11) the law is being ignored more than before

Here are 11 things that are clearly evident are worse under Trump and I can probably come up with more if I think about it more than just a few seconds that it took me to think of those 11 examples.

You can find bad things happening under any president, if that's what you're looking for. I meant that, looking at it objectively and without a lot of bias, no one can say it's been horrible or that nothing has been good.

In a period of economic expansion and prosperity we should be paying down our debt. Instead we have borrowed more than ever. Not a peep from the repukes. I'm sure it will change if a Democrat wins the White House.

At least you admitted it's a time of prosperity.

It really depends on what is important to the person personally. Economically things are better but in every other way, things are worse.

People's goals include economics but also include health care, education, peace of mind, less stress, more confidence in safety from every possible corner in life,

The president's job is to improve the lives of every person in the nation as much as possible and not only economically but emotionally and in the latter, every person in our nation is worse off now than they were in 2016.

This is not just looking for bad things to criticize but half (or more) of what every American needs. He has failed "totally" in that respect. You cannot say that emotionally anyone in the United States is better off because of Trump. There is less love, more hate, less understanding, more stress, less assistance for emergencies, more worry about safety.

You cannot argue this, it is fact!

By the time this is finished, he'll go down in history as the most corrupt president in US history.

This is how a populist keeps people like you feeling happy while they defy the law and do the **** that Trump has been doing for 4 years. He's always been nothing but a racketeer. I'm from the NY area and have known what a SOB Donald Trump is for over 30 years. He's a gangster and now he's going to be the most famous gangster in U.S. history. ALL FOR MONEY

Only Democrats feel there is less love, more hate, more stress, etc.

And by the way, if economic things are better then everything is better. The economy is the foundation for everything else.

I'll help you out here. He pulled out of TPP. He hasn't achieved anything with North Korea except to give Kim Jong Un two major publicity coups without achieving anything moving our nation into a safer place because Kim has been using all this time to build an even larger arsenal of nuclear weapons. Trump pulled out of the Paris Agreement and everyone in the world knows that the evidence of what's happening in terms of climate change facts is growing with extraordinary danger to the world. People are already dying because of this in fires, floods, mud slide and storms as Trump sits there and claims this is all a Chinese hoax. They all laughed at him at the NATO meeting so he just left early like a little kid and went back to the White House to sulk and tweet.

That's all you can come up with? How did Obama fix climate change? How did Obama prevent NK and Iran from building nuclear weapons?

The world has big problems now, and Trump is a failure because he didn't solve them all.

And by the way I am NOT a Trump supporter. I just see the divisiveness as irrational and tribal. Not constructive at all.

You know who isn't lucky is the average American.
You know what isn't lucky is our environment.
You know who isn't lucky is the American people having to pay for the tariffs.
You know who isn't lucky are those whose land Trump is trying to steal to build the monument to his ego that Mexico was supposed to pay for.
You know who isn't lucky are the people he's been bullying all along from the get go of his Presidency.
You know who isn't lucky is everyone who is affected by the chaos and distraction that Trump creates wherever he goes all over the world.

Who gives a F if Trump is lucky or not. He doesn't count.

I guess you didn't read the post before mine that listed many of the crappy things Trump has done, my comment was meant as an addendum. Nobody cares if you voted for him or not, that's inconsequential. Division was going to happen because half the real patriots know that Trump is a destructive force to this country unlike anything we've ever seen and hopefully will never have to see again. You don't like it? Well, that's a shame, you should wake up and see what he's been doing and maybe you would know why we're divided -- half of this country can't see it.

And now to address the questions you asked.

President Obama's commitment to protect our environment was historic.

Barack Obama made the largest single investment in clean energy in history through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act), providing more than $90 billion in strategic clean energy investments and tax incentives to promote job creation and the deployment of low-carbon technologies, and leveraging approximately $150 billion in private and other non-federal capital for clean energy investments resulting in in dramatic increases in clean energy – with wind power tripling and solar power increasing by 30- times since the President took office.

Barack Obama approved the first-ever large-scale renewable energy projects on Federal public lands, and permitted more than 15 GW of renewable energy capacity approved as of 2016. Established the first program for offshore wind leasing and permitting, which Administration analysis show could produce up to 86 GW of renewable energy off our coasts by 2050.

He performed energy-efficiency upgrades in nearly two million homes across the country.

In President Obama's first term, DOE and HUD completed efficiency upgrades in nearly two million homes, saving many families more than $400 on their heating and cooling bills in the first year alone.

He launched the Clean Energy Investment Initiative to expand private-sector investment in promising technologies aimed at reducing carbon pollution, including inspiring more than $4 billion in private-sector commitments and executive actions to scale up investment in clean-energy innovation.

Mobilizing $4 Billion in Private-Sector Support for Homegrown Clean-Energy Innovation

Made $1 billion in additional loan guarantee authority available and announced new guidelines for distributed energy projects utilizing innovative technologies, like rooftop solar panels with storage, and unlocked $10 billion in current loan guarantees for these technologies

The United States brought online as much solar energy every three weeks as it did in all of 2008, and the solar industry added jobs 10 times faster than the rest of the economy. Since the beginning of 2010, the average cost of a solar electric system has dropped by 50 percent. In fact, distributed solar prices fell 10 to 20 percent in 2014 alone and currently 44 states have pricing structures that encourage increased penetration of distributed energy resources.

He launched a new cross government partnership – the Clean Energy Savings For All Initiative to increase access to solar energy and promote energy efficiency across the United States with a particular focus on expanding access for low- and moderate- income communities and creating a more inclusive workforce.

President Obama unlocked access to Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing, making it easier to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy at no up-front cost.

Unlocked more than $850 million from the United States Department of Agriculture to invest in helping hundreds of small businesses improve energy efficiency, adopt renewable energy systems.

USDA Invested Hundreds of Millions of Dollars to Help Hundreds of Small Businesses Improve Energy Efficiency, Adopt Renewable Energy Systems

Expanded and modernized the electric grid through technology upgrades and permitting reforms

He committed the government to improving the nation’s electric grid and spurring the development of renewable energy. The Administration announced new investments in the next generation of power transmission and smart grid technology in 13 states and executive actions that will make it easier and faster to permit transmission lines.

Announced the 21st Century Clean Transportation Plan in the 2016 State of the Union, unlocked $4 billion in funding for electric vehicle fueling infrastructure, established the first national electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and partnered with the private sector to building a lasting commitment to scale up electric vehicles

As far as Iran is concerned, the Iran deal was an agreement that was no less than masterful. It was a diplomatic virtuoso performance on the part of Secretary of State John Kerry, others involved and all of these countries. Russia and China would never do any sanctions on Iran, never. From a diplomatic standpoint it was remarkable on how these countries all got together. From a nuclear standpoint, letters from nuclear physicists, some of them Nobel Laureate, wrote that this treaty should serve as a template for nuclear non-proliferation agreements.

Do I need to explain to you that the wages of workers aren't tied to the DJIA? That only matters if you own stock.

I tend to agree. What I find amazing is

The left complains about division, but instigate it.
They scream about Trumps wall, but conveniently don't remember they voted to build 700 miles of it
They continue to make false accusations about Trump, but continue to get caught lying just to do it again and again
Everything is a constitutional crisis
Trump stopped Kim from launching ICBM's and gets 3 hostages released without paying a dime when past presidents have given Kim billions to play nice
We have historical numbers in the stock market, economy, job creation, and unemployment but now Obama did it?
China, Mexico, and Canada are finally coming around but the left would rather they continue to rape America

Can you even imagine if Democrats got behind the successes Trump has created for the last 3 years instead of these fake fiascos of the Kavanaugh confirmation and the 3 year Trump is a planted Russian agent themes, where we would be right now?

Can you even imagine if Democrats (Instead of all the childish theatrics) just accepted Trump as president, expanded on his successes, supported his policies, how much different their candidates would be viewed or the caliber of candidates they might be hosting right now?

Its a real shame the left has decided to resist at all cost and decided on impeachment the day Trump took office instead of deciding to support the election and move forward with the best interest of the people.

I suspect if Trump continues to have his successes despite the resistance, the Democrat party will pay for there falsified disruptions for years to come

Are you serious? Guess not...

Obama got us into Paris agreement and implemented a LOT of policies friendly to combating global warming. Trump did the opposite.

Obama got us into Iran deal that they have been complying with not just according to IAEA but even according to Trump administration for a long time. Now, thanks to Trump, they are enriching uranium to nuclear weapon levels.

I guess his abysmal behavior after hurricane Maria doesn't count? His impeachment? The betrayal of the Kurds? I think your criteria are just a smidge skewed.

Why do so many on the left try to base how good things are going for the U.S. on how well our president is liked or disliked overseas?

Ummmm he is only the third president in American history to be Impeached!!!

Lucky!!!

No natural disasters your kidding right?

The west has been on fire, trump cut federal aid to California and told tbem to rake their forests.

The midwest has record flooding.

He passed out paper towels to clean. Up Porto Rico after the hurricane.

I could go on and on...

I'm not at all sure that this is a serious thread, or was intended to be. It's hard to take it that way when one considers the utter destruction of the major departments of the executive branch, State, Justice, Defense - name one that hasn't been decimated. If he's such a non-incidental President, why can't he keep a cabinet together? Why are so many officers vacant - with not even nominees? The premise is so flawed as to not appear genuine.

It's possible to go on endlessly citing this or that list of either failures or accomplishments. Without some agreed-upon way of evaluating the importance of each individual citation, there's really nothing to be gained.

What can be evaluated, most notably by the number of instances of courts stopping actions of the administration, is the level of the administration's competence in advancing its goals. It has not been in the van.
