Man with knife shoots and kills 8

Before I even clicked onto this thread you just knew it would quickly be made about guns.

I hear guns don't kill people, people kill people. So guns don't matter, only the misuse of them. That's why this guy with a knife shot and killed eight people, instead of there being less harm as he wounded eight people, right?

Colorado Springs, Colorado, stabbing leaves 8 injured - CNN

No one needs an assault knife, maybe if we had universal background checks on knife purchases and close the Walmart loophole we could of prevented this attack from happening.

Here's a cookie. Too bad you can't actually discuss the topic.

Yeah the title has shoot with a knife, the op choose to go down that path from the start.

1. The people are injured, not dead.
2. What?

I'll explain the sarcastic post to you.

People who defend guns often argue that if they didn't have guns, they'd just use knives, so it doesn't matter. To which opponents of excessive guns point out that it would reduce casualties. So, I'm mocking the argument of the pro gun people here, by pointing out that because this guy had a knife instead of a gun, we DON'T have eight people shot and killed.

The gun advocates like to say guns aren't the issue, people are - 'guns don't kill people, people do'.

So I'm sarcastically stating what they claim - that guns didn't matter here, only the person, and so obviously he was still able to shoot and kill eight people without a gun - pointing out how their argument is wrong, that having a gun does matter in the killing.

Oh but I am. It is the completely dishonest and inane OP written by you that has the word SHOT in it when the article linked to clearly says

A man allegedly stabbed eight people at several locations in Colorado Springs, Colorado, early Monday morning in what police said was a random spree of violence.

The attacks ended after victims detained the suspect.
Police responded to a call about 1:30 a.m. and found two people stabbed. The suspect had fled on walking trails that led through America the Beautiful Park, and officers who began to check there found more victims, police said.
Officers spread out to search and received reports that the suspect had stabbed several more people about a mile and a half away from the earlier stabbing, police said.

This is a blatantly dishonest way for the usual suspects to bring up guns. And it stinks to high heaven.

I think he knows that. I think it's a weak attempt at sarcasm.

Yeah - sarcasm aimed at people who favor gun laws. This sorry episode does not have a damn thing to do with guns. It is entirely dishonest to introduce the topic.

Yeah. One of their reasons is that guns kill way more.
