WH: No Evidence General Soleimani was plotting to blow up a US embassy

If after ordering the raid in Pakistan, Barack Obama had said that Osama bin Laden was planning an attack ten times more devastating than than the September 11th terror attacks, it almost certainly would have been a lie in light of the evidence. However, I do not care, because Osama bin Laden should have been killed regardless of whether he was an immediate threat or not.

Is Donald Trump lying about Soleimani being an "imminent" threat? Yes. Because you can tell when Trump is lying when you see his mouth moving. Now, because Donald Trump lied, does that mean killing Soleimani was the wrong thing to do? No. Because people responsible for directing the killing of American citizens and soldiers must be killed in turn both for deterrent effect and to neutralize any future threat they pose.

He was really good at running a well-organized, well-disciplined paramilitary terror organization, had forty years of on-the-job experience, and he had a country behind him with resources to back him up. Very few other notable terrorists have that.

I never said it wasn't and the posters here saying that we are aren't helping the conversation. Lying about imminent threats to the public is not funny and should never be done by a President. It's always the cover-up. Not the crime. Trump would have so much more respect if he just admitted that he went in there guns blazing. I doubt even his most hardened supporters like it when he changes stories this much (if they pay attention to that sort of thing). It makes him look like an asshole/dictator/warlord instead of a commander.

For all the spreading of their toxic barbaric form of Islam through the funding of Wahhabi mosques and madrasas, I know of no member of the Saudi government openly heading a region-spanning terror organization and proxies in the name of the Saudi Royal Family, although I am open to being educated. Certainly not at the same level as Soleimani. But if we find him, I am open to him being killed too.

Agreed. But Donald Trump is a man who sometimes does the correct thing, but then goes and makes a sow's ear out of a silk purse by lying about his motivations. I will happily condemn the lies. I shall not condemn that occasionally-correct action though.
