How should Democrats address Republicans' tactic of lying?

It's one thing if there are some lies and they're answered, but the topic is discussed.

Republicans have a tactic of responding to an issue by lie, lie, lie, and the topic shifts entirely to their lies - correcting them, discussing them, discussing the Republicans telling the lies, and the issue is ignored. Again and again.

Democrats' natural inclination is to treat Republicans like 'fellow citizens' who are just in error in good faith, and correct them. But that's not what's happening, and it falls into this trap.

If a Democrat says something about climate change, and the response is many lies, and the discussion becomes only things like saying 'no, Great is not paid by George Soros as a propagandist', the topic of the climate doesn't get discussed.

It's a big enough issue, preventing almost any 'discussion' of issues, that it raises the question, is there something Democrats can do to counter it, so that issues get discussed?

The media falls into the trap, too, preferring fighting and the 'outrageous' over the issues. Ratings, ratings, ratings.

Ahh, you noticed that, too. Do you have any solutions?

For starters stop seeing the media as separate from the political apparatus. More often than not they are in the driver's seat. Nixon would never have had to resign if he had today's FOX. All the GOP is doing is riding the narrative that network has created and given FOX viewers generally could care less if they ar lied to by the network as long as it tells them what they want to hear and the GOP falls in line, there really is no incentive for change. American conservatism has become a massive cult of denial and persecution because truth isn't jibing with how they want to see themselves and the world.

As far as chicken and egg on Republican politics and media, it's really neither - they're on the same team and cooperate, last I heard they're still literally meeting weekly to agree on talking points. It's the plutocrats and the agenda of pursuing power that drives them together.

You're right that we have a national corrupt cult.

Sadly... many participants within this forum and many other forums do not care to read, so... the damages expand... and the short attention span become more pronounced and ignorance is amplified...

When President Obama Spoke of "Change"... The level of Intellect and Knowledge President Obama Presented, was met with a high level of generalized illiteracy of principle points and facts, until "Denial was their only go to demeanor"... a levels of ingrained ignorance within the right wing mentality which overshadowed his message, aims and goals.... by over aims to "Deny Truths" and chase their incessant chant of wanting to retain and embrace the vile of white nationalism.

...until; all they could focus upon was the embrace by many of the Old JIM CROW guidelines which consumed many over generational passed along "blind and willful ignorance"... Leading them to attack what some can't comprehend, some don't understand, and some willfully chose not to want to understand.

"Their chant of Ignorance was two fold: "We want our country back" followed by "We've been left behind"....

Both phrase demonstrated clearly the vile of their delusion of superiority, as well as it was unknowingly and in some willful knowledge and example of their blindness and arrogance, as an overt acknowledgment of their choice to willfully embrace the groomed in generationally passed on ignorance to a level, they could not keep up with the ever changing nature of life and society.

It's best to define what that Cult is;: It is: Confederate Ideologist, who dominate the Republican Political Party, and embrace a mentality to Conserve Confederate Ideals. in simple terms = "The Confederate Republican Party" which can be described in even more common terms ....

Sadly we have far too many even among those who claim themselves "Liberals" and "independent"... who refuse to acknowledge these truth, because they still want to hold on to vestige of white priviledge, so they don't give thumbs up and they don't add commentary and they certainly won't and don't share links to spread the Truths.... It's like an Addict... who claims to want to get treatment and claim to want to get off of being Addicted, but hold firm to reservation about doing so.

For some, they can't fathom to face the truths straight up.. because it will shake the foundation of lies and vile premise they were raised to believe, and that would mean, they'd have to face and acknowledge the racist bigotry that is within the expanse of their own Ancestry.

Unaware of the fact, they can acknowledge the wrongs of their ancestry without having to disown their ancestry, but accept that their Ancestry was caught up in a society of system that promote segregationist ideals... of which they had no power to escape... Many of their ancestry were afraid to speak out against it, because they knew, their lives would be at risk by the threat from the vile racist savages who devoted themselves to racist idiocy and white nationalist agenda.

Its understandable why many did not speak out, because the racist had convoluted and bastardized the laws, and would have stood against and even attacked them as well as many would have had their jobs threatened as well as their family would have been subjected to the vitriol of violence racist would have engaged upon and against them.

These things are understood... and its understood by a great many blacks as to how many whites got caught up in such and subjugated, but as well many enjoyed the benefits of white nationalism and white accessibility based on skin....



But... in this day and time.. if one is Liberal and for Equality of all persons in all things... they have no excuse for not standing up, nor can they expect to hold reservations for white privilege... and equality of all... at the same time.

So, result is; many try to straddle the fence, some do so by trying to be silent, and others do so, by avoidance to engage.... and they are a greater damage to the Democratic Party OF TODAY... than are the damages by overt bigots and racist....

BECAUSE, the racist and bigots can clearly and quickly be identified... where as the "fence stranding Democrats and Independents... are covert in trying to protect their reservations and wants to benefit from white privilege of a system of white nationalism...

These fence straddlers of the Democratic and Independent ranks think... they are covert in their hidden agenda to cling to their reservation in want to protect white skin accessibility and white skin privileged, but fact is... they expose themselves by their silence, their waffling, and their conflating aims to sanitize facts they should stand upon and expose.

These types... weaken the Democratic Party by their own self weakness to make a choice and stand for the Full Equality of All... in Gender, Race and Ethnicity.... That is what distributes and damages the Democratic Party...
These types weaken the Party and in doing so, they do and bring great damage to American Democracy.


They know whom they are... and so do many of us know whom they are.... Pay attention to their silence as much as to their words and ... their exposure is more discernible....
