The Horowitz report tells what this is all about - something everyone on all sides except Trump tries to divert from. This is not a partisan dispute directly. Rather, that the partisanship is opportunistic.

This is what triggered all of this. Trump openly campaigned on a goal of detente' with Russia. Detente' with Russia would cause the lose of TRILLIONS of dollars and massive lose of intelligence agencies, defense contractors and military contract - with corresponding lose of staff and power. Trump also opposed the incredibly popular endless unwinnable perpetual wars.

And it got worse. For decades, literally everyday the "intelligence community" met with the president in a "security briefing" EVERY DAY in which they told the President exactly what he must and must not do. According to Democrat Chuck Schumer, the highest ranking Democrat in the country, no president nor anyone else in an elected position should ever dare defy the "intelligence community" because they have "6 ways from Sunday" to destroy any politician by scandals and all the vast power the intelligence agencies had.

Trump told them not anymore. He won't start every day with intelligence insiders ordering him what to do and not do. He is the president, not them, contrary to their opinion.

With this, those insiders lost the ability to be president in terms of foreign policy. That Trump would not let them tell him what to do every day?

Trump's actions were outrageous to them. As part of "flexibility," Russia was systematically being given Ukraine. Basically, Ukraine was being divided up for profit. Trump stopped Russia gaining any more Ukraine territory - exactly contrary to the actions and goals of "the intelligence community."

And it got still worse. Fighting the ever growing ISIS was worth hundreds of billions. $250,000 per bomb. $20,000,000 per drone. $1.5 per missile. All the massive defense contracting profits for crappy meals charging $30 each, uniforms - the money raining down on them. And that god damn maniac Trump destroyed them. There when future hundreds of billions in profits and all the power, staff and budget to the intelligence and defense agencies.

Next, more horrifying that if he had thrown poison snakes on their desks, he didn't get us into a perpetual 7 way war, including directly with Russia, in the Russian territory of Syria. For as long as the Philippines has been a US territory, Syria has been Russia territory - the only foreign base they have - and for which we were arming and protecting every insurgency and terrorist group in the region. Trump pulled our troops out - and the genocide Syrian civil war we created and armed ended.

Not getting us into an unwinnable war that would be worse than Vietnam was the last straw and an impeachable offense.

This is not about Democrats versus Republicans. This administrative government versus democracy. Administrative government going berserk they they don't get to replace the president because of Trump.

To try to rationalize this, they rant that anyone who doesn't want to spend trillions to defend against a non-existence extinct adversary (the U.S.S.R.) and refused to stay in wars and refuses to get into wars we can't win and that will never end MUST be a Russia asset.

This is battle between war profiteering bureaucrats and companies versus democracy. A battle between war and peace. Chuck Schumer openly admitted Democrats and almost all politicians will do ANYTHING the intelligence community tells them to do. The intelligence community has told the Democratic Party to give the foreign policy and war power of the president BACK to them, like they have had for decades.

It is not just Trump they are trying to eliminate, they also are trying to eliminate voters, democracy and the constitution to get back the police state and presidential power they had until Trump came along. The partisan battling over this is only opportunistic and not the cause. This most certainly is a constitution crisis with democracy and constitutional government itself at stake.

Thus, while every witness with any knowledge testified Trump did nothing illegal, they also testified that Trump did not follow "protocol" - explaining Trump didn't do what each of those witnesses would have ordered Trump to do - only he wouldn't let them. Not ONE witness testified they had direct or indirect knowledge of Trump himself doing any quid pro quo. Rather, they ranted about how Trump wouldn't let them tell him what to do. That is what the impeachment is about - Trump took the presidency back to the office of the president.

Brought to you by the party of "Russia is our greatest geopolitical foe and Obama is weak for not fighting them."

It's amazing that these people think anyone is likely to be convinced by their stupid bull****. You can't openly contradict yourself from one day to the next and be expected to be taken seriously. It's just a bunch of useless virtue-signalling, the virtue being hatred of liberals.

There isn't one "liberal" even involved in what is going on.

The OP has NOTHING to do with liberal vs conservative. I don't know if Trump is really as smart and virtuous as the OP portrays him, but I agree we are involved in all those wars for mostly bad reasons.

The MSM, press, and politicians have everyone convinced it is the perpetual - and nearly always just for diversionary show - partisan fight. But it isn't. It is administrative government demanding it is they who control all foreign policy and war decisions, for which politicians' job is to do whatever they are told to do - or else they will destroy that politician. It is about their arrogance which, at its core, is a hatred of democracy and elective government. They WERE it total control of foreign policy and war decisions - AND THEY WILL DO ANYTHING to get it back.

At the very start, Chuck Schumer announced he and all smart politicians will do and vote however anyone in any intelligence agency tells them to. They want Trump gone so they against have total power of the presidency on war and foreign policy - and the Democrats in Congress are doing what they have been ordered to so for political survival.

Presidents who end wars or won't go into war don't do well. The Kennedys opposed Vietnam, so both of them had to die. LBJ promised he wouldn't send American boys to die in Vietnam - but he got the message after the Kennedy's were killed and sent half a million American boys there - at trillions in war profits.

The first President Bush wouldn't stay at war in Iraq and expand the war, so he was replaced with Clinton who got into war in Eastern Europe - and every where else they wanted - so it was ok, as was Bush 2 - getting us into more war.

They extra liked Obama, who bombed and attacked more countries than any president since WW2, creating chaos, civil wars and insurgencies all over the M.E. for astronomical profits.
But Trump? Damn bastard not only wouldn't get us into war in Syria, he wouldn't even let them keep the making perpetual profits off of ISIS. So he has to go - to be replaced with the Democrats - who promise to escalate the Cold War against the USSR to even greater than when the USSR existed, and wanting us to create a much war and conflict in the region by double crossing our real allies on behalf of adversaries. They literally create and arm the adversaries so we have those adversaries to make war profits and war power from.

Thus, they then have made those adversaries so dangerous we have to spend trillions for war profiteering and the war-mongering bureaucrats in the intelligence community get huge budgets, bigger staffs and offers of lucrative defense industry jobs. By arming all sides in every conflict and assuring none of them can ever win, their massive war profiteering and power grabbing is perpetual.

Trump is killing their war and death mega profits. How? By acting like a president rather than a cowardly, corrupt politician like our presidents are now. Trump is probably the first actual president on foreign and war policy motivated by the forces of democracy and his own opinions since before FDR.

They were truly shocked when President Trump told them he wouldn't meet with them every day because he had already decided what he was going to do about ISIS and Syria - and he didn't even ask for their permission.

I credit it mostly to Trump's self confidence or arrogance - pick your word. For whatever motives, Trump decided that since he is the president, he will make the presidential foreign policy decisions. ALL of this, all the ranting about Russia, ranting about him not going to war in Syria etc, is trying every way possible to Trump being able to exercise the constitutional powers of the president by declaring it treason if he doesn't let the intelligence community control all war and other foreign policy decisions.

I have watched these so called witnesses stating that Trump fired or smeared them. Guess what? He can do that idiots. He is the president and they work at his pleasure. He is absolutely being impeached because he is out of their control. Every crime these Democrats accuse Trump of is within the executive powers of the office and they just can't stand it.

Trump isn't arguing with Democrats, he is exposing them for who they have been for years and after 8 years of Obama they just can't believe they have to follow the orders of Trump.

I love it.
